  1. The Nova's looking nice so far, David. Keep up the nice work! Oh, by the way, I'm happy to see my baby girl isn't the only one that likes model boxes as beds! Your little one looks just like my girl's twin brothers.
  2. Get out of my head!!! I was thinking about that one, I just couldn't remember the name of the movie!
  3. Thanks very much, Jairus, that means a lot to me coming from a great artist like you. I just don't have photoshop!
  4. WOW Jeff, nice score! You should go back and pick a couple more up for me!
  5. You'll have plenty of time to get the new International, I will be starting the offical build thread sometime in mid December.
  6. Very nice Jairus, and I liked the story to go with it.
  7. This is just a guess, Greg, but I'd figure you could find that jewerly cleaning jar at a finer jewerly store.
  8. It wasn't that hard to figure out, why do you think Homer Simpson moved to Alaska?!?! I guess it's also good, or maybe bad , that I know what everything Stan said means in that South Park quote!
  9. Yep, just what Richard said, Ray! The pic of Prime I found was from shooting they did in Chicago. After three movies, they finally decided to give him a trailer again!
  10. I got to agree with Dennis they both look good, but the aerodyne sleeper looks nicer.
  11. Man, just when you think you know someone!
  12. Ok, like I said, I'd get this steered back on track, and I'm surprised noone, especially Mark R since he has one as his avatar picture, has not mentioned the movie version of Optimus Prime. The Revell Pete 359 would work with some long hood mods. I'm not sure what the old school cartoon version was, I think a Freightliner cabover, but if that's the case, AMT's White Freightliner Dual Drive would be perfect.
  13. I know what you mean! Even though I never went on any runs with him, my brother was driving while I was around that age. I remember when he was hauling vans for North American, he was in the general freight division, I remember climbing in his old International cabover, and man I still hate those things! When I got older, he even wanted to teach me how to drive in his KW W900 before I could even drive a car! On Saturday Oct 9th of this year, it will be 18 years since I lost my brother in that W900 due to an accident he was involved in. That was one run I always look back and wish I would have been there on. Of course, we did cover over 1 million wonderful miles after I started driving in 1998, he was with me on every run! Sorry for going a little off topic, but I'll get it steered back on track!
  14. I would guess, but that was just alittle before my driving time. I didn't have my frist Freightshaker until 1998!
  15. Sounds like me, the only livestock I ever hauled was already dead and frozen!
  16. Ray, I thought I was the only one to remember the "Yellow Bird"! I've got you one better, though, here's a pic of her, I found the movie online and downloaded it. This is a screenshot from the movie.
  17. That's not bad at all, I can't get over the EPA estimate of 15 MPG! Modern cars should be estimated much better than that. Heck, my old 1990 T-Bird with it's 3.8 Liter V6 used to do as good as your Stang, it would get around 20 in town and 26 on the highway. My 1990 F350 4x4 dually diesel dually even gets 15 MPG around town, and that's even with it using a gallon of oil a month! Oh and by the way, my MPG's are done the old fashioned way, I don't have a fancy computer to do it for me!
  18. I also use brake fluid for paint stripping, and I also do not get in a hurry. I usually throw my stuff in Lake Brake, and most of the time, forget about it. By the time I finally remember the tabled project, the paint falls of as I lift the body or parts out. That reminds me, after 3 years, that truck cab should be done!
  19. You will never stop amazing me, Romell! We gonna make you a scale trucker yet!
  20. It does seem like it will be a go for sure, Mark. The offical build thread will be posted here in the community builds section in mid December and the start date will be January 1st or very shortly thereafter. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like we will have a few very intesive builds like Earl's idea of two most scratchbuilt car carriers and my idea may involve two rigs, load for both, and support vehicles, so I'm thinking it will be a year build time. That will be finallized in the offical build thread, though, start and end date and the few rules will be in the first post when I post it. Thanks for all the interest everyone, I can't wait to open up the truck stop!
  21. The tube on the bumper is as far down as it can go, the buckets for the driving lights won't let it go down any farther.
  22. Brian, on first guess, I would think it might be a C series engine, but I'm not sure what model. If you can look at the tags on the driver's side of the engine, it may say there.
  23. Absolutely wonderful, Gary! I really wish the O.V.S.M. show was still around, I'd love to see that in person, I've always loved your work.
  24. Ok, another little mini update, but hey, at least I'm working on it again! I did a little refining to the metal rods that failed as hood hinges, and got things to more or less fit the way I want. I still have to do some work on the tubes that I'm attaching to the frame and the bumper for the hinges, and may try to make another less bulky set of hinges, but the tubing is at least in the right places. The bumper still lines up the way I first wanted it to. I still also have to modify the bumper some more and make it even bigger to extend back since the bumper now sits a scale 6 inches more forward, but that also solved the other slight problem, the bumper hitting the steer tires. Here's the bumper tilted, ...and plenty of room for the hood to open fully!
  25. Well, not exactly. I don't know if anyone has a spare in the parts box, but the AMT Alaskan Hauler Kenworth had both the two stick and a regular one stick 13 or 15 speed (not sure offhand without looking), and that kit is more or less the same kit as the Movin On kit. I think a few other AMT kits also had the same Cummins as the Kenworth, but also with the regular transmission and not the two sticker.
