That I couldn't tell you, Joe. The most I know was it was the talk of the town about a year ago that Hollywood came to our area to do some of the shooting. EDIT: After some "bing"ing, I found this: http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/05/15/runaway.train.05/ through following the link here: http://www.themovieinsider.com/m5952/unstoppable/ It's also sort of ironic, some of the tracks they used in this area are CSX tracks! -
Ok, first and foremost, I haven't read through this entire thread, so if I'm repeating this one, I'm sorry! Two blondes are walking through the forest when they come across a set of tracks, and one says "I wonder what these tracks are from?". The second blonde says "I believe they are deer tracks." to which the first blonde says "No, I've seen deer tracks and these are not deer tracks." The second says "Well, maybe they are bear tracks?" and the first blonde says "No, I've seen bear tracks, too, and these aren't bear tracks, either." The two blondes continue arguing over what type of tracks they are until the train hits them both!

Oh, just a note for all my fellow railfans here, the new Denzel Washington movie "Unstoppable" that is coming out soon, much of the rail footage was filmed right here near my hometown in Bellaire, Oh. -
Would there be any interest in a tractor trailer community build?
highway replied to highway's topic in Community Builds
Give me a few more days, Donnie! I've been thinking of getting the offcial build thread going on this a little sooner than originally planned. I just have to iron out a couple things on the few rules we will have. -

One of my favorite roads! I miss the old Burlington Northern green and Santa Fe "Warbonnet" paint schemes, though. -

I tried golf at one time, but it seems I spent more time in the woods than on the fairway! I would maybe have done better standing at the tee sideways with the horrible slice I had! -
Brian, you could maybe at least start with black or leather colored seats, and maybe some of the green for trim. You're welcome for the decals, too, even though the way it's looking, you won't need the slow moving vehicle triangle!

Train Show, and Model contest pic's.

I've seen that snow plow posted in the truck section before, and I always get a chuckle out of it. I just wonder how many people I made upset like that while I was driving one! -
I don't know, Tony, I sent a message to Gregg right after he put the CB section in, maybe he missed it. I'll try again.

Interests outside of model cars?
highway replied to Hattley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't have many interests outside of model cars that isn't also car related, and it always seems those interests seem to merge back to model building. I like watching NASCAR, Indy Car, and Formula 1 racing, as well as an occasional drag race. I also work on 1:1 cars and trucks, and also enjoy model railroading and real trains. I also like online gaming, mostly car racing games. Other than that, my life is kinda boring, just watching TV! -

out of the box builds
highway replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, Jeff, if you're going insane, I'll be right next door to you in the looney bin!! It just seems no matter what, I have to have an engine from this and wheels from that all put in one build. The closest I've ever been to an out of the box build is my 09 Challenger, but I got plans to modify at least 2 more of them other than this out of box build. One of my wilder ideas, I decided Revell's 34 Ford Cabriolet, which is a decent kit by itself, just wasn't good enough, so I had to stuff a blown Hemi under the hood and big, fat Mickey Thompson tires in the back! And yes I did say the blower is under the hood! I build my fair share of trucks, too, but even those seem like they can't calm my kitbashing and modifying mind. I just can't build anything the way it should be! Of course, my biggest drawback, I just seem to modify them to the point I don't finish them, even though I'm working on changing that! -
Very nice work, Andy!

I personally think the seats look great the way they are, but of course I've always liked the "new" look. Also, congrats on the marriage and sorry to hear about your dad.

road killer
highway replied to tanarries's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That sounds like a good idea, Tom!! I might even have some Border Patrol decals he could add to it! -
Thanks everyone for the compliments. The DD is another UP engine I've always loved, and both it and the Big Boy are reasons I've enjoyed UP equipment, UP just seems to have the biggest engines! I wish I would have remembered when I was still driving over the road, I was in Omaha quite often with a company I drove for headquartered there, I would have made it a point to go to the UP headquarters!

I was aware they had a Challenger 4-6-6-4, (#3985 if I remember correctly offhand) which is more or less a smaller Big Boy, still running occasional scenic passenger runs, but I didn't know they still had an operational Big Boy, too! I'll be very interested in seeing your layout, too, I've always been a fan of UP.
