Yeah, just like I'm a potential millionaire, IF I EVER HIT THE LOTTERY!!!!

That looks great, Joe. I thought when I read "Inspired by Master Chin" this might have been that car! Wasn't the real car featured on the Speed Channel show hosted by Dennis Gage? If I rememver it correctly, Jay said that was the first car his dad let him spec, so Jay checked every option box he could!

I'm just wondering, is anyone else having their antivirus giving a warning when you open this thread? I have avast, and every time I check this thread, it tells me "Malicious URL Blocked" and "Malware Detected and Blocked", just like it was doing in another thread last week that Wheelman (I think) posted the "Virus Warning" thread about. Anyone else having this problem?

Welcome to the forum, Justin! I love the look of your 1:1, I almost had an 88 exactly like yours from a friend of mine, but unfortunately he ended up taking with him when he moved. Anyway, like you said, how about some model talk. I'll be honest with you, if you can find another on ebay for around a 100 bucks, they are worth it. I paid that price for one of it's sister kits about 3 or 4 years ago from a hobby shop that just happened to have older kits, the 79 Trans Am. When I first seen the price, I was not really thrilled with the price, and it took 4 or 5 times of looking at it, putting it back, then looking at it again before I finally decided it had to go home with me because I might never see it again. Of course, if you really want to build a replica of the 1:1 until you have your parts gathered for the big one, there are some nice 1:25 scale kits of the IROC, and also a 1:16 scale if I remember correctly. I know Revell made a 1:16 86 or 87 Trans Am, and I'm almost certain they did the IROC too. I recently seen the 1:16 Trans Am on ebay for less than $50. Good luck in your parts search.

I would agree, as radiator hoses are a larger size than an oil or fuel line would be, for example. You could also have two different size lines for the same purpose, say like the supply line from fuel or oil tank to the pump, then a smaller line out of the pump running to the engine.

Yeah, but don't you know there are no team orders allowed in F1!?!?

And I got excited when I got some of the small cans on clearance for $1.25! GREAT DEAL!!!

Yeah, they never really showed a very good shot of it, except when they had to fix the steering or something on it! Actually, American Loggers is on the Discovery Channel. I think you might be mixing it up with Ax Men on the History Channel. Either way, both are great shows. Of course, right now on Friday nights at 9:00 PM eastern, the Discovery Channel has new episodes of their other logging series Swamp Loggers, followed by a new series that just began last Friday at 10:00 PM eastern called Snow Men. It follows along with snow plow drivers in the mountains of Utah.

MPC '67 (68) Cougar Funny Car
highway replied to ZIL 111V's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the Cougar funny car in the Model King Nostalgia Drag set is also another version of that MPC kit. -
I hope you're talking about the model! If you mean the car, you need glasses!

Thanks, Clay.

If I remember correctly, one of the Macks was just like this one, one of their loader cranes. I think they also used the front of one like this on the front of their resturant! They, at the end of the last season, were also starting to buy new Mack Granite tractors for the road trucks, and if I remember, Bonechrusher got the first one.

Instructions? What are these instructions things you speak of? Of course I'm just kidding, and this sounds interesting. I'm in! I should have most of my other CBPs off the bench by February. Do you have an end date in mind yet? I do have one question, you said one exception would be colors like the example you gave of not having Ford Engine Blue, just plain blue would be fine. Now does this mean that we have to use the paint callouts in the instructions, just if we don't have a particular color, it still has to be something close, just as long as it is painted near the color the instructions say? I guess what I'm really trying to say is just like some of Revell's kits where the instructions call for the body to be painted purple, the body has to be some shade of purple, right?

Another idea would either be check with a GM dealer and see if they have the touch up spray cans available or at least find out if that certain color may have been used on another model by a different name. I know that there have been some instances where the same color has been used on two different brands, say for example Chevy and GMC trucks or Ford and Mercury, in the same manufacture and have used two different names for the same paint color. This is just an example, but it would be be like the Camaro using the Inferno Orange and a Cadillac having the exact same color but it be called Sunfire Orange. If you do find it may have been called a different name on another GM car, or even by the same name but on a slightly older model, you should be able to go to your local auto parts store and find the DulpiColor touch up paint to match.

Well, if you are going to tease us, I'm going to guess what might be going on in your head! I would say from the way the body is cut and the extra length, my first guess would be maybe an El Camino style truck. My first thought was a limo, but it just doesn't look long enough for that.

Tom, I want to see more of that!

I like the tires on it, too. Where did you get them from?

Actually, James, I know those gaps look terrible, it appears like they don't fit very well, but they are supposed to be there. I found this picture online to help show you what I mean. It's not the greatest, but you can see where the gaps are in the same places on the 1:1 car. I would try to minimize them by sanding some of the front fender, since that seems to be the worst. If you do want to putty the gaps, I would suggest rescribing them after you have improved the fit. EDIT: I found this pic that shows the gap by the fender and hood a little better where the front nose piece meets the fender.

Internationa Payhauler 350
highway replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That looks like a great setup, Bill. Is the trailer itself the AMT lowboy? I was wondering how the Payhauler would fit on one. It sounds like we have a DOT cop in training! I'm just kidding with you Justin. I just looked again, and I see the Oversized Load on the top of the cab and looks like on the stand on the end of the trailer too. -
I've never actually tried to rebuild a glue bomb yet, but one technique I've heard works is to run the model under water and then put it in the freezer. The idea is the water will get into the glue joint and then expand as it freezes, hopefully pulling the glue joint apart with little or no damage to the parts.
