  1. If the tailgate's in good shape, I could use one!
  2. Good, so I'm not the only one with a short memory! I've done that with a few, I even got one as a Christmas present that I forgot I had! My mother in law got an AMT 2005 Chrysler 300 for me and I was excited to get it. I looked it all over and put it on the shelf Christmas night, and a few days later decided I'd work on it. Well, I pulled the one I'd already started off the shelf instead, and thought how in the heck did this thing get painted, I just got it for Christmas! Then it dawned on me when I looked on the shelf and seen the other one sitting there. No wonder I liked it so much when I opened it Christmas morning, some big dummy had already started working on it months before!
  3. Are the ones your looking for the BFG Radial T/As? If so, I might have an extra set.
  4. Here's a few just off the top of my head. 1. General Lee (of course ) 2. KITT from Knight Rider 3. KITT from Knight Rider 2000 (for those who may not know, the red Pontiac Banshee based one) 4. the Kenworth truck from Movin On 5. Dodge Ambulance from Cannonball Run 6. 70 Challenger from Vanishing Point (even though it was a diecast kit) 7. GMC van from the A-Team 8. The Monkeemobile 9. Daisy's Jeep 10. Daisy's Plymouth 11. Cooter's tow truck 12. Roscoe's patrol car 13. the GMC General truck and trailer from Knight Rider (I only seen it once, I think it was a Monogram 1/32 snap kit, and the vendor at the show I seen it at wanted $200 for it!) 14. the white Corvette from the A-Team 15. The Batmobile 16. City Chevrolet Chevy Lumina stock car from Days of Thunder 17. Hardee's Chevy Lumina stock car from Days of Thunder 18. Mello Yellow Lumina from, you guessed it, Days of Thunder Ok, obviously I watch too much TV and too many movies, or I just have too many TV and movie cars in my collection! I know there's more like some from Miami Vice, more from Cannonball Run, and probably many more, but hey, I don't want to hog them all!
  5. Yep, I know! At least I have some spare keyboards!
  6. This is what to expect from the AMT kits, first with the SRT8. The R/T version is virtually the same as the SRT8, with the exception of the front spoiler that was corrected for the R/T and the R/T wheels. The R/T is on the left and the SRT8 parts are on the right. The decals are the only other difference between the two, and include the pattern for the R/T seats.
  7. I guess I'll just give the Cliff Notes version of the kits reviews, too. Here's what you can expect to find in the Revell kit, which I have obviously started. That's why there are gaps on the sprues! The only dislike I really have with the kit so far is the solid metal axle for the rear, but at least Revell did hide it well.
  8. Dang it, Romell! Another keyboard ruined by drool!!
  9. Thank you, Mark. I think, since this subject is posted in the "New Kit Reviews" section, I will prepare a post in a little while of all three kits, complete with pictures. I have to take on my alter ego, Russian Taxi Driver Piccup Andropov, to take my better half to work very shortly, but will begin with the kit reviews after I get back.
  10. This looks interesting. I've actually seen a 1:1 extended crew cab running around my area like this, I think it might be a 95 or so.
  11. Davin, I was not trying to be sacastic, was not trying to pick apart your post, or have a smart a-- attitude, the only reason I used the capital letters in that post was to emphasize the fact that the Revell kit has an engine and the AMT kits do not. I'm sorry you took it the wrong way, and the post has been editted without the caps. By the way, I'm usually one of the first here that tries to offer help whenever I possibly can.
  12. Davin, only the Revell kit has an engine in it. The AMT kits, both the SRT8 and the R/T, are curbside kits with no engine.
  13. Greg, this is interesting and really shows how diverse members are with not only their interests in building subjects, but how some of the same kit can be built different ways. Here are some of my multiples and some of the ideas I have for them. 2 complete (and another one on it's way in a trade ) Revell Midnight Cowboy Custom Wreckers, plus parts from at least 3 other kits; all but the one factory sealed kit will be built into a more modern wrecker, the factory sealed is still sealed so I don't rob parts so I can at least build one as it should be 5 AMT 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee Pro Streets; great kit to rob Hemis and tires from 3 AMT 2006 Chevy Camaro Concepts; 1 will be built as the original concept car, 1 will be the convertible concept, and the last will be built as Bumblebee from the first Transformers movie. Those are just a few from the top of my head, with the execption of some Dale Earnhardt NASCARs. I have many multiples of different versions of his cars, too, mainly to use as donors for aftermarket decals to build different cars Dale drove.
  14. No problem, Bro. You know you can always count on me!
  15. Even though I unfortunately haven't been able to go for a couple years, those 3 Rivers Automodelers always have had a nice show. Also, A.B. Charles is a great place, too. I've dropped more than my fair share of money there! Scott is a great guy to talk to, too!
  16. I wonder if Tim Taylor's mower would go even faster?
  17. I've not been doing well on these lately, but I say real.
  18. Tim is Tim Ahlborn, he is the moderator of the truck forum and our resident truck guru, as well as the "Trucker's Corner" writer in the magazine. His screenname is mackinac359. Here are the links to not only Tim's site, but also to Hank's Truck Pictures that Clayton referred to. http://www.timstrucks.com/ http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/trucks.htm Also, since you're building a wrecker, here's another site you might find helpful, nothing but wreckers! http://www.wreckerdriver.net/photos/ I'm not sure, but you might have to register on wreckerdriver.net, but it doesn't cost anything and the pics are worth it. Everyone sees one I found there every time I post! Oh, by the way, Clayton, you were close on the red oval part on Tim's avatar pic. I just checked, it is a white background with black lettering and an outline of Texas with a star to represent Denton, where Peterbilts are born!
  19. Even though it is the dually version, this is one I have. It does build into a nice truck, whether it's the 2500 or the 3500 dually and the interior looks like it should. The frame is one piece and does look nice with some detail painting. This one was lengthened with a piece from another kit, but that is generally what to expect, except without four catalytic converters!
  20. I'm speachless! Great work as always, Tim.
  21. You're quite welcome.
  22. Try this: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/instruction_sheetsh/instruction_sheets/amt-9/amt-71-duster-340-8437/ There are three different Duster kits on the Drastic Plastic site, so here is the link to their home page as well: http://www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html Bob Black has a great site and is great for instances when you don't have the instructions, it's helped me more than once! It's easy to use, just click on the kit manufacture, then the year and make of the car you're looking for, then click on the box top of the kit.
  23. I'm not part of the "save the earth" crowd, how could I be driving an old diesel pickup and helping the ozone disappear every time I spray paint a model outside, but I guess you could maybe call my chrome stripper environmentalty friendly. Ok, back to all seriousness and sanity, Dwanye, you honestly will get as many answers as people who post answers because we all have our favorite chrome stripper that works for us, and here is what works for me, Dawn Power Dissolver. You can find it whereever you get dish washing liquid, and works great in not only stripping the chrome, but the yellow undercoat underneath. The parts in front of the bottle were done in about 4 hours. Since it's for getting the stuck on gunk off of pots and pans, it has no harmful fumes. Even though I've not tried it yet, a few members have also said it works at stripping paint, too.
  24. No, Greg, as long as you don't do like I did to get the splatters on my paint stirrer and pull the mixer out of the jar before you turn it off! DOH!!!!! As long as you keep the mixer's shaft below the rim of the jar, you will not lose or splatter any paint, other than the small amount of paint on the shaft itself. I then just dip it in thinner and run it to clean it off, and wipe with thinner off with a paper towel.
