  1. Aaron, you should find it somewhere near the fabric dept., and I also found one that has a smooth edge that looks like a mini pizza cutter, I haven't tried it yet, but I guess it may work for ribbing like you would find on the sides of a trailer. Just make sure you use it on something soft so the raised detail comes out on the back, when I tried it I had it on my cutting mat and had problems.
  2. Aaron, first, the ponce wheel is very similar to a pizza cutter, but it does not have sharp edges for cutting. It is actually for fabrics, but had read it was useful for rivets. It does not work on thick kit plastic, you have to make your rivets on evergreen sheet plastic no thicker than about .015 thick. It does make small dimples on the side you roll the wheel on, but on the oppisite side you get rivet "bumps". I will try to post a couple of pictures of a piece of practice rivets I tried on a piece of evergreen .010 sheet, but I'll have to see if I can get some contrast on it first so you can see the detail.
  3. Looks good with the older cab, Rodney, I like!! Is that the old Monogram stepside F150 cab? If so, I got a body that really needs a frame!
  4. Yes, Daniel, nice photos and nice products. I'm sure you will be hearing from me in the future, I just have to get some extra cash and some bills paid off first!!
  5. Nice pictures, David. I really like your rollback. I've been thinking of doing one similar with parts of a Ford Louisville I got from a friend of mine, he gave me the cab and frame, but no engine or bed.
  6. Get ready to be a big fan, Mitch!! Danica is going to race in the Nationwide Series full time next year to get her ready for the Cup series. She's done good in the few races she's been in so far this year, and could have done better if she could have stayed out of everyone elses wrecks! My favorite is and always will be this driver: This is just a very small portion of my Dale Earnhardt collection, all the way from models to diecasts and pictures. Smoke is also one of my favorite current drivers. I even have an autographed diecast of his 2009 Burger King car from Daytona last summer I bought of the big home shopping network. I do agree with you that Kurt has mellowed with age, but he's still a Busch!
  7. I never even knew anyone made 1:24(25) scale tanks! The one on your truck looks great, blowns10. Does anyone know if they also offer an M1A1 Abrahms in 1:24(25) scale?
  8. I heard of Plaskit and seen some of his parts in builds, but can never find anything online. How can I see some of the parts Daniel offers? I know where to find Porky's items, but not Daniel's. I would like to see some of his products as well!
  9. Hi Mark.. I don't really know! I've never had the any of the fire trucks, but I know a couple of my other trucks with the Detroit V8 are slightly different, but if you have both valve covers, I could try!
  10. I need the right valve cover (Part # 508) for AMT's Tyrone Malone's "Papa's Truck" Kenworth Aerodyne Cabover hauler. The vavle cover from later issues of the Kenworth Aerodyne Cabover should also work, even though I don't know if the part number is the same. These are the kits with the Detroit Diesel V8 and Allison Automatic transmission. Thanks in advance. I also have this posted in the "Wanted" section.
  11. That would probably be close. I think I used Tamiya Flat red on this interior: It looks close to your picture, even though you would need to use a satin or semi gloss clear over it. Or, it also looks close to the shade of red on my 1:1 scale truck: It is 1995? Ford Truck Cardinal Red, but again, you would need a satin or semi gloss clear. If you need the paint code on my truck for that red, let me know, I have a can of the DulpiColor touch up paint I can give you the code from.
  12. Here's a few things I used BMF on in my latest project: I also did the window cranks and door handles on the interior door panels, just haven't taken pictures of them, yet. And yes, that is BMF of the pedals, too!
  13. Thanks, Brad, it's always good to have opinions to share! I have to agree, there are many talented truck builders here, many are very helpful, and I would hope to say I know a little when it comes to semis, I drove them for 12 years! I also worked for a towing company for a couple of those years, so I've been in, on, under, and worked on trucks in that time. I even worked on the wreckers and was under them a time or two! I haven't printed another test of the mural yet, but between your opinion and others from here and the "other" model site, and also my "artsy" mother in law, I've decided to extend the mural slightly and take it from about the end of the curve where the front wall meets the side to just before the doors in the back. I haven't decided yet, but may even add a different small mural to the hood as well. I'm not sure, though, because there is a small ridge in the hood, and sort of scared if I can get the decal to conform to it well or not.
  14. You tried to make it hard on me, Harry, but my beginner's luck held strong!! 3 For 3!! The tie down hook in the rear almost made me say "Real", but the give aways that led me to say "Model" was the apparent mounting stud in the front marker light, the highly visible seem on the door rear view mirror, and those tires just screamed "I'm not real!!". The lack of tire valve stems, or at least not visible to me, helped, too!!
  15. Even though I can't stand either of the Busch brothers (hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em!!), you did a nice job on the car. How did you do the tape on the grille? I think this might be the first NASCAR I've seen with tape on the grille.
  16. Yeah, and I forgot the rail trucks!! Anything else you or me forgot???
  17. That would be nice for highway dept. trucks, too. I know some states still use crew cab dump trucks. Nice work on the LaFrance cab, too.
  18. They all look nice! The generic is more or less a military type tread, right? What do each measure out to in scale?
  19. George, after Scott gets the ones he needs, could I get the rest?
  20. Cool, I just might have to get one of the resin ones. Then I could use the other body as an ambulance! Stab them then slab them!!!
  21. Nick, are you looking for the wheels for wreckers from your other thread? If so, newer style wheels from the Ford F350 would be your best bet. My 1/1 scale 1990 Ford F350 was a wrecker at one point in it's life, and that is what is on it. I seen some somewhere, but can't find them right now! I think Ma's Resin is supposed to make some, but not on his site yet. If you want older fifty or sixty style wheels, check these out at Scale Equipment Ltd. http://www.seltd.net/24601cp.html Of course, if you want a "showy" style Alcoa wheel, 1/32 scale Alcoas from a big rig look real nice as a 1/24(25) scale dually wheel.
  22. I think the Polar Lights is similar to the AMT kit, I don't know for sure, I never had the AMT. It looked like the other one you had was the Polar Lights, one way to find out, see if that fits it! I was going to convert one of the P.L. kits to a hearse, but I like that resin body much better!
