Need mustang engine wiring help
highway replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How's this for the GT500?? It claims it's an 08 GT500 engine, anyway! http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=22449 As for the 2010, at least from this pic, it doesn't look like much would be different on the bottom half you can't really see anyway. http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/editors_notebook/0905_2010_ford_mustang_gt/photo_03.html -
Pro Star and 53 ft Great Dane reefer
highway replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I hope not, even though I'd still buy it just because I'm a Freightliner fan. My personal opinion, Moebius would do a new truck kit better justice. As for the licensing, Moebius wouldn't have that much of an issue, because the Hornet is licensed through Chrysler if I remember correctly, and that is a Diamler brand too. I still prefer a Coronado or Classic XL first, I'm a long hood type of guy! -

I have to say it is just great that we truck modelers are finally being heard in our requests for new subjects! I remember someone, I believe it was Chucky, posting a thread a while ago suggesting these particular subjects, and now we will have them! Now maybe I can look forward to some Freightliners in the future, say a Coronado and Classic XL!?!? -

KW900 1/16th reissue MSRP?
highway replied to RickRollerLT1's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
You are right Chris, the only one that is planned at this moment. I have heard nothing of the Kenworth coming back yet. I'm with you Justin, I really want to see the Aerodyne make a comeback along with the trailer, then maybe I can actually finish the ones I had as a kid and lost in a fire in 1997. I always wanted to see that combo together! -
I'm not quite finished with this yet, mainly because I was not intending on doing any final assemblies until I stripped the paint. It will probably end up staying this way now though until I figure a safe way to extend the diecast frame to not only support the cab but be long enough for a rollback wrecker bed as well. And if you didn't already figure it out by the mention of the frame, it is a diecast! Yes, I do consider this a pickup, too, a BIG BOY'S pickup!!

Uh Chuck, look at the grille really close!! Please don't insult Fords by calling it a Dodge!! -

That's why I consider all my vehicles females, because there have been a few women I've known that can sniff that extra dollar out of my pocket too!! -
That was it Skip, the remaining 19 cars went out for the 5 laps and the season ended with that. The race was over at the time of the accident.

Alright Harry, in my opinion you're just digging a deeper hole for yourself. Yes, police officers and firefighters do a dangerous job to, as you said, protect the public, but just because a race car isn't doing that doesn't make it any different in my book. All three professions, and yes I see driving a race car as a profession, put their lives on the line everyday they put on the uniform, and even the police officer and firefighter have to have the same passion for their jobs as a racing driver does. Maybe racing isn't your game, but I would say that if you didn't have the passion to do the job in the first place, you wouldn't put on the driving suit. If you would be a police officer or firefighter, wouldn't you have to have the same passion for the job before you'd put on the uniform and put life on the line?? I know if it were me, and if I were more physically fit I would be in law enforcement, I would have the passion for the job and not think twice about what could happen because I would love the job. If you don't love the job, you aren't going to risk death for nothing, right?? Anyway, RIP Dan, and may you and all the fallen drivers before you have fun at the races! Oh, and just one other thing Harry, I cried when Dale Earnhardt died, and I still get teary eyed even today when I see some of the old footage, and I never met the man but I have always felt like I lost a dear friend.

I can't answer the question about the DupliColor, but I can tell you that Testor's has just about any shade of orange you could want in their lacquer sprays. GM Hugger Orange, Ford Grabber Orange, and Mopar Hemi Orange, you name it they got it! Here's my 09 Dodge Challenger painted with the Hemi Orange.

72 Gran Torino from the Movie
highway replied to Drago's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1.This might help for a little info: http://onscreencars.com/movies/gran-torino-1972-gran-torino-sport/ 2. As for a donor to supply the 351C engine, the Revell 70 Mach 1 Mustang should be a good source. I don't know if that engine is a 2V or a 4V, but all the difference between those is just the carb, a 2 barrel carb on the 2V and a 4 barrel on the 4V. I also don't know if it represents the CJ heads, but if I remember correctly, the CJ heads were just a freer flowing head, so the differences would be internal and not a big outside difference. The Mustang Mach 1 will also supply you with the correct Magnum 500 wheels, since they are included for the Boss 302 version, but keep in mind the Mach 1 version is the ONLY one with the 351C in it. Any of the previous Boss 302 or Boss 429 issues will only give you the correct wheels. -
So, are you trying to say everyone else that posts here might as well stop posting because we will never be of the high standards of Mr. Teresi?? That's sure what it sounds like to me!

Best kit to build 1964 GTO?
highway replied to allegheny's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know what your smoking, but in my opinion Ray Charles could see the the Polar lights GTO is junk!! These pictures should prove that fact just fine. A real 64 Goat: and a pic of my Revellogram GTO at a similar angle. And now the supposedly "great" Polar Lights kit and another real 64 GTO at a similar angle. I'm sorry, but the Revellogram GTO looks much more like the real car, the only way I think the Polar Lights version looks anywhere close to the real thing is if the real thing has hit a brick wall and was shortened by a few feet!! By the way, the blue model is in a thread here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24925 -
Moebius? News coming up this month?
highway replied to BigBad's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the info Anothony, I noticed in an article that was with this pic that these were 2008 models, I thought they were newer. Here's a link to that article, too. http://www.pickuptru...s/sterling.html -
Moebius? News coming up this month?
highway replied to BigBad's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually Barry, the Sterling is a Freightliner Diamler/Benz name now. You are right that is more or less a new Ford though too, at least in the heavy truck market. I forget the particulars, but when Ford was getting out of the Class 8 truck market, the new Sterlings were nothing more than a rebadged Ford Aeromax. I think I even remember reading somewhere that Freightliner specifically made the new Sterling badge so it would fit in the place of the old Ford Blue Oval! As for lighter duty Sterlings, they were rebadged F series trucks, but the newest are rebadged Dodges. Mark, feel free to send me all those Series 60s you're getting tired of. I'll take a mean green Detroit over a Cummapart anyday!! -
What's Your Achilles Heel?
highway replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry for not answering sooner, I haven't been on in a day and a half, but yes, I actually took models with me on the road to work on in the truck. Now of course, I wasn't working on them while driving, I'm crazy but not stupid! I would pack up the kits supplies and when I had the spare time, I would work on the desk that was part of one of the sleeper's cabinets and work on one of the little trucks. -
Ain't them those tasty burgers Cartman makes!?!?
