  1. I love this car and have the same project in my stack but it is on hold. Model car garage announced a set of photo etch for the 67 Shelby’s over two years ago but still not out. Hoping it has the outboard headlamp grill that this car needs. Also delaying my project is the hood grills that this car also has.
  2. Very cool!
  3. I don’t believe they are correct for the car. Seen them on Firebirds. They did come in the kit thou.
  4. This is beautiful!
  5. I was digging out my older threads. I need to post up the finished 70 Javelin.
  6. Thanks. All of these I finished in 2017. I have a bunch that I did in 2016 that I don’t think I have shared. My finished collection is just over 200 models.
  7. I know it is not very glamorous but needs to be done. This one the front suspension would not come apart so I had to work around it.
  8. Yes they are factory. They came in the original kit but mine had used the other ones. My unbuilt 70 kit had them so I used them on this one.
  9. Is a resto but it was very nice to begin with.
  10. That's pretty cool!
  11. 69 Pontiac Grand Prix. Another one of my completed restorations of an MPC kit. I really like these cars and have to do a 71 and 72 also. I just really like the look of these 69 and 70 Grand Prix best. I was stuck trying to pick a color for this and it was almost a raspberry red. It is now Testors Anthresite Grey metallic. It was previously built in a similar color.
  12. This is when I stripped it down and accessed what I have to work with. As you can see the exhaust did not want to come off cleanly. I almost gave up on it but decided to see what I can do with it.
  13. Here is what I started with. Not to bad but you can see the texture. Only missing the air cleaner. I did have to pin the wheels back on.
  14. Here is another one of my restorations. I really like how this one came out. AMT 67 Thunderbird. I really like Thunderbirds but never really got into and of the 67 and later ones. I have planned to build all of them from 55-66. So when this came up and was a nice start at a really good price I bought it. All the chrome was replated and the body did have some texture from the old paint.
  15. The size looks good to me. The real issue is the ride height is a little high and I didn't do any adjustment for it. I'm tempted to tear into the suspension and lower it. I did that to a few of my modern Shelbys but not all of them.
  16. I do build modern muscle cars too! I swear! Here is a 2013 Shelby GT500 using the 2010 Shelby kit and Plamoz 2013 trans kit and decals. This was a fast build and looks great. The Plamoz kit has lots of photo etch. Love how this one came out and I also have their 2014 Camaro Z28 conversion.
  17. That bubble is to clear the dual quad 427 that was in the MKIIBs.
  18. You should contact him. He did sell a few sets to a friend of mine but has not listed them as far as I know.
  19. Here is another one I rebuild restored recently. This is a 70 Road Runner Johan kit. Yes I have quite a few Johan rebuilders and kits in my stash and I love them in the simplicity that they are. It was a very nice build up so I don't want to say restored, but it was not my work so I rebuilt it. Only issue was once I stripped it I had to redo all the bodywork that was done before. I just had to do this one in Moulin Rouge paint! (Panther Pink for the Dodge boys). And Keith Marks decals on this one as well! I promised myself that I would get many of the started projects that stalled moving again so that is why most of my builds are restorations. I still have a 70 GTX to redo, and a few JoHan Superbirds to do as well. Not to mention a few more Javelins and AMXs.
  20. The more research into the GT40 I dug into. The more interesting facts I learned I just had to build this car. And Fujimi offered it in a kit! Many things about this particular configuration at this race intrigued me. At the 67 Daytona race two GT40 were raced with Mercury on the side were Ford normally was. This was the only race that this happened. Also they were in the mist of updates to the GT40 so this is the MKIIB configuration. The kit itself is right out of the box but again the decals were really yellow. I commissioned Firebird Designs to reproduce them in white. I need up using two sets stacked on each other to get them really white.
  21. Thanks Rex, that is useful!
  22. Are they no longer available?
  23. So did I, It was on the new decal sheet but not on any others that I had seen. In some of the old photos it is hard to see.
  24. Sorry for the confusion. It now had BMF but when I first built it 15 years ago it did not.
