  1. I noticed the vinyl top too! Pro built has always made me laugh on eBay. Pros get paid for their work so every eBay sale is from a pro!
  2. Also his web sight has an update about falling behind and that he should be caught up by 10/1.
  3. I got my order that I placed on 8/14. It arrived on 9/22. I was not in a hurry as I already had about 15 bottles of his paint.
  4. It's funny but most of the Revell Charger kits don't have a Hemi in them. 67 Charger has race and stock Hemi, 68 Charger has race Hemi in Landy kit and race Hemi and 440 4v in 2 in 1 kit. 69 Charger and 69 Daytona pro modeler kits have race Hemi and 440 4v but stock version only had 440 4v. AMTs real nice 71 Charger is 440 auto. I believe all the MPC Chargers are Hemi. I personally would like to see a 440 Six Pack in this one.
  5. I was not in a hurry for the paint plus I have used his stuff and have met him at shows. He has never offered a deal that cheap before so I was expecting it. Plus he stated on his sight why he was having the sale. Normally one bottle is 12.50 plus ship so I got 8 for the price of two. This hobby takes patience to do so waiting a month was no big deal. Modelhaus used to be about a 6 week wait right up until they announced the retirement. Now if you got an order in before they closed you will see it next year. I have two orders in myself. I think the longest I ever waited was 18 months for a resin kit from Historic Racing Miniatures.
  6. I ordered mine on 8-14 and was notified that it shipped 8-22. The package was finally received at the post office on the 14th and arrived today.

  8. I don't think anyone has made Satelite parts for that kit. The 80's issue marked Satelite is actually a Roadrunner. If you find that kit you will still need a stock Satelite hood.
  9. Also the Six Pack cars were a mid year introduction and were selling so well Edelbrock could not make the intakes fast enough. So I don't see how any dealers could get the parts in 69 as they were all going to production first. To fix the supply problem Mopar cast the manifold in iron for 70 and opened up the option to more vehicles as it was more popular than they originally imagined.
  10. Don't you mean the 2015 contest issue?
  11. Thanks and it is tough digging up parts for these old builds. Sometimes going resin. Here is a resin 70 Javelin that I bought about 2010. It was just a body kit from Dencon Resin. bumpers are Modelhaus, the chassis and interior were cast by me but dash is Missing Link (70 AMX, but same). Interior from a promo and chassis from a mint 68 Javelin kit that I have yet to build. Engine and wheels are from other donors. I resold the promo and in this pic all I needed was glass. I have mint glass from the 68 kit but was not able to get them vacuum formed. I have a few friends that were going to help me form them but somehow it never happened. My 70 promo parts car that cast the interior and foil cast the emblems was sold on ebay but had no glass, damaged roof and no a pillars. Then another 70 Javelin build up pops up on ebay and I bid and win. It has great glass, no hood and a Ford motor in it. Turns out it is a great rebuilder and I wish I started with it instead. I take the glass and finish this 70. It is so new I have not photographed the finished model yet. So now I have this nice builder that needs a hood and glass. So I ask my normal trading friends if anyone has this stuff as now I can't order another Modelhaus hood. Glass I figured was not going to happen. Turns out a friend has recently gotten another 70 promo that the body is busted up but the hood is good, and he has perfect glass too! Now I just need a motor for it but that is no problem.
  12. Yes. I have owned it since 92 and it is my first car. I grew up in it and it was my moms car from about 82. It's no longer a daily driver but gets attention when I have extra funds.
  13. I did and thank you for the correction.
  14. I expect that to happen to me also! I have one more early stock only kit to build as a 68 AMX. And I have two resin 70 AMX's from Missing Link. One is in progress now in Big Bad Blue with Shadow Mask. I finished most of the rest of the Javelin's only having the 68 and the 74 left to build.
  15. The Dick Landy kit had all of the stock 68 Interior. The body was interesting as it had the 69 square marker lights and the directions said to fill them in with putty and use the 68 style decals for the marker lights. The body was different in the fact that it had no vinyl top on it but a small portion of the molding were still there and needed to be sanded off. I chose to use the 69 kit body with the vinyl top for my build at the time. So they did a modified insert for the body at the time but left the 69 markers. The later 2 in one kit has no markers on it at all.
  16. Here is another one I finished this year. This was a long term project that I had to do a lot of trading and swapping to get this one done. I started with the more common 69 Shirley Downey race car and realized that I could not use most of the parts. So I collected the correct 69 interior tub, stock steering wheel, traded for the stock chassis with exhaust molded in. Then dig out stock wheels and tires and find the stock engine parts. I got a resin hood from Missing link. Once I had all the parts I realized I only used the body, bumpers, glass and a few chassis parts and engine parts from. Chrome was not that good but for this build it was fine. Modified the bumpers and added the chrome molding to the front bumper and the front spoiler is from a Revell 69 Camaro sanded smooth. Not really a stock part but was on my reference car. I decided to leave it on. Rear bumper guards are built from styrene rod. Decals are from Keith Marks and the outside mirror is from the Revell 68 Firebird kit.
  17. If Revell offers a stock 70 R/T I'll probably buy one as I really like them. I also remember when the 68 Dick Landy kit came out. I bought one but It could not be built stock. I bought the Pro Modeler 69 and kit bashed them to make a stock 68 Charger R/T. They had all the stock parts between the two kits. Of course after I built mine they offered up the stock 2 in 1 68 Charger kit with new dog dish wheels. So I just had to buy that one too.!
  18. That issue has no marker lights molded to the body. It has decals for the 68 lights.
  19. Anyone interested in trying Scale Finishes paint. Check out his web sight. Up to 8 bottles for $24 shipped! Limited to sizes and colors on hand. Click on Moving Sale for list! I like his paint and ordered 8 more bottles!
  20. Sounds awesome. I can't wait to see more!
  21. I built one of these in almost the same combo you are planning. It was a resin 69 Coronet RT from Mini Exotics. I built it about 10 years ago and used the AMT chassis just as you are doing. I had to find an original interior for mine and I used a Ross Gibson 440 in it along with dog dish caps. I went with a bright met green and saddle interior. If it is alright with you I will add pics if you like.
  22. On the Dick Landy 68 kit the body had 69 square marker lights cast in. The directions told you to fill them in with putty and use the decals provided for the 68 markers. I think this changed on the later stock 68 Charger kit.
  23. They build up the same but they are very different. The grills, and tail panels are year specific and same for the interior. Now I know all the 69 kits have a vinyl top but the Dick Landy 68 race car has no vinyl top and race parts only. The later 68 stock kit has a vinyl top and steel wheels.
