That looks great. Seen a few online and they should have been made. For some reason Mercury never offered the fastback or even the convertible. The convertible did arrive in 69 but was not available for 67-68.

Last Modelhaus Order
Sport Suburban replied to unclescott58's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Same for my order from may 16. It just shipped! 63 Corvair convertible. Now my last order is from July 2 and it's order number is just under 1000 orders from my may order! They closed the web sight shortly after the 4th weekend! -
I have about 10 of his kits. All are buildable with some texture and no chrome plating. They are a great value for the price but I would not say they are as good as Modelhaus. One nice thing about his kits. They have instructions on what donor parts are needed and what version to look for or if more that one donor is needed.

Weatherman says:

Wait till July when it's 118! Or August when the humidity rolls in and it's 110 with 30%. I can't imagine what 9 is like. -
I like your Pyle and I have a similar Pyle of my own. Would love to have that 68 GTO convertible myself! I have more than 50 resin kits or body's. some I don't even know why I still have them. 69 Chevelle convertible, and MCW 65 Satelite come to mind. I have some duplicates too. Two 70 AMXs by Missing Link. Love that car and one is being built now. I also have two 70 Torino King Cobras. One is Jimmy Flinstone and designed for the Revell 1/24 kit. The other is Mini Exotics and is based off the AMT 70 Torino annual. Like you stated some have lost value do to new tool kits. I have a Modelhaus 68 Charger R/T and a Modelhaus 72 Olds 442 convertible with the W/30 upgrade. Both I have built and enjoyed. I built a Modelhaus 70 Charger also and have one more unbuilt Modelhaus kit of it in my stash. Some started getting some serious money on eBay and were sold off. Mini Exotics 68 Cougar GTE, Mini Exotics 427 Cobra Daytona Coupe, R&R 70 Chrysler 300. Some Modelhaus items are going crazy lately. Did anyone else see the 68 Chevelle conversion kit that was only the front, rr bumpers, dash and taillights go for $166?

They all look great but I love the 68 Coronet R/T!

Thanks. The 60 El Camino came to me by a good friend. I told him I was looking for one to build and he gave me this one. I had to fill 14 holes in the body but all the trim was intact. His only request was the Honduras Red paint.

Ha! That's funny! I have another 60 Edsel vert to restore in my stash.

Yours came out very nice! What donor did you use for the engine comp and chassis? I'm honored that my build inspired yours. My Big Bad Blue 70 AMX may have to get finished soon!

Well 2016 was a good year for finishing up some model projects for me. Many of these were started a few years ago and were on and off my project table but they all were finished! Some of these I did post earlier this year in threads. I have not been posting much and for that I'm sorry but I had a lot of things in my life so I spent more time building and less time posting. Well here they are: 1953 Corvette monogram kit. 1957 Del Rio custom with modern Boss 302 engine. I posted this one previously. 1959 Corvette Revell kit with soft top from 58 kit. 1960 Edsel Ranger convertible, AMT kit restoration. previously posted.

Question about 70 Roadrunner
Sport Suburban replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree that the 68 Roadrunner or 69 GTX would be better for what you want to. The entire inner fender set up on those kits will build up nicely and lend well to cutting off a fender from the body. Also what scale is the trailer and Ford? If they are 1/25 the AMT kits are also 1/25. The Monogram / Revell 70 kit is 1/24 and may look large on the trailer. -
Great build and I love it. I remember when you first posted it. I had saved the pictures and had bought the kit. That R&R kit needed some work to make it as nice as yours. I didn't build mine and once R&R had passed and some of his kits went through the roof I had sold it. I wish more of these C body Mopars were available!

MPC 1971 Road Runner Reissue (?)
Sport Suburban replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Who knows what happened to the tools over time. Round 2 is doing a great job sorting out the tools and restoring the ones that fit there budgets! Time will tell if this 71 kit is found and what shape it is in. I understand that many of these tools are separate pieces and the chassis was shared between many body's but I don't know for sure but it makes sense. Also remember when RC2 owned them the kits suffered. As mentioned the 74 GTX when issued by them in the 2000s had the wrong dash and a chassis plate from a different kit with single exhaust. I bought one of them. Round 2 did find the right parts and corrected the decals for the collectors tin 74 Roadrunner! Only wished they would have filled the cowl vents on the hood as they should not be there for a 74 but that is an easy fix for us. Also remember the RC2 issued the 69 GTX kits with the 68 Roadrunner grill, hood and rear bumper but still had the correct taillights all on the same chrome tree. -
Revell question
Sport Suburban replied to noname's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have not got a reply in a while. They used to send a post card if they no longer had the parts. My last two request are processing but never showed up. They give you a order number that you can review the status of your order but mine is over two months old and still says a shipping label was created. -
MPC 1971 Road Runner Reissue (?)
Sport Suburban replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This info is great to read and since I have built a few of these and have a few more to restore I can confirm that the 87 issue was a restored body from the progression of the body mods. The 71 annual has quite a few suddle differences from the 87 issue of the same body. When you put the two bodies side by side you can see the differences were it was restored. I always wondered about the hood but never had the petty version so now that makes sense to me. Also since the 70 GTO was mentioned it's tool was modified after the 87 issue. Model King had the tool located and issued it in its last configuration as the stock car. It is no longer stock but a dirt modified car of some kind. -
eBay for Parts, What Do You Buy?
Sport Suburban replied to Skip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I constantly watch eBay and buy parts that I need for many projects. I have a lot of annuals that I have restored and about 50 more that I plan to restore so parts are nessasary. Many of these have had the custom parts installed so finding the stock parts can be difficult. I have purchased 2 to 3 built ups to get all the parts I need to build one. Then I have resold the extra parts or packaged them together fore someone else to use. Sometimes I get ahead finacially sometimes I don't but I rarely keep track. One example that I think I did well on was a MPC 70 Firebird Formula 400. I bought the built kit for $50. It was built with most the stock parts but had the custom daisy wheels and drag tires on it. I restored it but sold the original custom wheels for over $20 on eBay. I have sold many parts too but never started with a complete kit. If they are MPC or Johan I usually make money. Revell and AMT I usually use to trade as they don't do well on eBay. I have also taken gambles on old kits that are not advertised well. I bought a 68 Cougar kit that was unbuilt. The seller had 6 pics of the box and one of the contents in the box. I placed a bid for a little over the opening bid that I thought was fair. Nobody touched it but had lots of views. I ended up with a kit that was missing a few custom parts and one taillight. So I scored on that one as I was trying to restore another built up 68 Cougar but had spent more than I did on the gamble kit after a few actions getting pieces.
