I just got my two Boss 302 kits today. It is reworked from the Mach 1 kit. The interior is untouched. The body is pretty much untouched other than filling in the holes for the side scoops. The intentions for the c pillar emblems are still present and would need to be filled in for the Boss 302 but are used on all other versions. The rear panel has the exhaust cut outs filled in and the hood is filled in. The hood pins were also removed from the hood and should have stayed. The new grill has an astrick in the directions indicating a chromed part but it is not chromed. The tail pipes have been corrected with turn downs and the engine is real nice. I love what I see and can't wait to build one!

I see a lot of the parts are direct from the 69 Mach 1 and 69 Shelby. It was said that it was a modified tool and not a new tool way back when. My 2 kits will be here on Monday and I can't wait to see how different the body is from the Mach 1 and the DM resin parts. I'm surprised that the Shelby roll bar is still there bat that is an easy fix. Nice to see the rear window slats! I like them and had to shave down a set from the 70 to fit the 69 body on one of my older builds.

I love your builds but my favorite is the 57 Thunderbird. Really nice! That 30 woody is great too! -
AMT '63 Corvette kit
Sport Suburban replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like the kit. It is simple to build with lots of options. Looks great when finished. My only complaint is the stock knock off wheels. The wheels are fine but the knock off are horrible. As others have said its a gold mine for restoring annuals! -
I hope he recovers and everything goes well for him. i know he was mastering a Vector W8 and an AMX3. Don’t think they were ever finished or offered up for sale.

AMT'S PONTIAC 1969 FIREBIRD, KIT 31808
Sport Suburban replied to Wm David Green's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think that is the issue that has all the parts for the TA or the 400 version but has bad decals. I believe the decals were only black TA stripes and no Trans Am wording. -
67 Buick GS 400
Sport Suburban replied to yellowsportwagon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Was this recently? I haven't ordered from him in over 10 years now because of his delivery issues. I do have two of his 68 GS kits and they are pretty nice but the chrome is more gold. I wanted to turn one into a 69 GS 400 Stage 1 convertible! -
I have a 72 in my restoration Pyle and it has a Superfly hood instead of the correct hood. I have restored another 71 and 72 and the hoods are different. The bulges are enlarged for the headlights but look like they can be sanded down to match. The nice thing is the Superfly hood has underhood detail and the annuals do not.

Nice job on the flames! I too have a resin body and his flame mask and want to do the same thing. Did the mask stick real well? Also I bought a 67 Barracuda that was painted blue. I stripped it in the purple pond and it found gold paint under the blue and it would not come off. I washed it off and put it in 91% alcohol and it striped it off right away! I have found that if the purple don’t work the 91% will and vice versa.

Here is a pic of the AMT 68 AMX box. I have the kit and all the info is already mentioned so I can't really add anything more. -
AGHHHH!Dont drop the airbrush!!!!
Sport Suburban replied to Spruslayer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have 4 airbrushed. Mainly because I just don't get rid of them. Still have my original Badger 350. Great for beginning and I really durable but I have broken the air cap a few times. Next are two Badger 150s. Loved that one so much I bought a second one 15+ years ago. My original is so old it was sold by Sears and says Sears on the side. I could not tell you how many times I have dropped them and bent the tips or needles. I have used them both so much that I had rebuilt them many times. Worn triggers, air valves, you name it. I still use them on occasion. My newest one is a Grex with the trigger grip. I love it and it will spray very fine. Had it for about two years now and bought the combo with the compressor. That thing is trick. I am tempted to buy one more Grex and use it only for clearcoat. I had a Badger Airbrush compressor and it lasted just over 20 years with me before the piston broke. I bought it used! -
This seems appropriate
Sport Suburban replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is very true! You don't have to be good at it just enjoy it. It is so easy to push for the next level and it is great to get that first award but if the award is why you are doing it, it will get disappointing. -
Wow. Very nice!

Also, it is really a 3 in 1! it still has all of the Bullitt parts just no license plates so you can build the Bullitt car without paying the high prices for the Bullitt box!
-
And with the leftover parts I decided to build a 70 Mach 1. These were before Revell offered the 70 Mach 1
-
I have 2 on preorder myself. Can’t wait to see what the updates are on this one. Here is the one I built many years ago from the 69 Mach 1 and 70 Boss 302.

Opinion on Revell ProModeler 69 Dodge Daytona kit
Sport Suburban replied to shoopdog's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here is mine. It is the original pro modeler issue. I built it with a stock Hemi with a few stock parts donated from a 67 GTX kit. The original had tires that had the red lines preprinted as well but not as clean as the new ones in the 70 Charger. Those were nice and recently made it to my recently finished 69 Charger 500 build. -

The 70 Charger kit has the printed redines in it so they already exist. -
What are YOUR regrets ?
Sport Suburban replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Regrets, sure I have some regrets but I don't dwell on them. Without them thou I would not appreciate the seized opportunities! Also, I don't think I would remember some of the models I built if I didn't blow them up or shoot them!
