  1. Slight change of plans, the concept of the build is the same and so is pretty much everything else but ive bought a kit to simply use just the body haha, the front grill will still be the 32 ford grill sectioned. Now im just waiting on delivery, in the meantime I will mock up the engine mounting as I can't do much else without the body.
  2. Let's start this off nice and simple. This is a kit bash project with no deadline, just some creativity that needs letting out. We start with a revell 32 ford coupe body that ive cut the back end, I need to find a pickup donor body to seal up the back of the body how I want it. The interior is going to have a flat floor plan as this is not a traditional front engine rod. A custom chassis with a lot of careful planning is being built for this too. So to the powerplant. A quadcam 426 hemi with supercharger and a transaxle gearbox....do I have to say any more? So the parts list. Body - revell 32 ford coupe Engine - amt 70 coronet/superbee Supercharger - revell 69 superbee Transaxle - revell ferrari enzo Front fenders - tamiya lotus 7 All the other parts for this build are either coming from these kits, aftermarket or being custom made. Im waiting on some pro street tyres for the back end, also the sectioned front grill it going to smoothed as there will be nothing for it to cool (if it was real) in the front. I am having thoughts of a nice suitable spoiler for the back, again this will probably be another donor piece, thinking of a cuda spoiler.
  3. Hello, I bought a 1/24 Tamiya Nissan gtr r32 part kit from a seller on ebay, the kit was missing instructions and a few parts, I need specifically the standard r32 gtr instructions for the part numbers so I can contact Tamiya for the parts I am missing. Thank you.
  4. I am currently building a 1/24 Tamiya r32 skyline, for those not familiar with the kit the wheels fit on by pins, I am looking for some great detail wheels to go well with the kit but I don't know which way to go to find the correct rims, aoshima and fujimi do some real nice wheels but will they fit? Thanks, Dec.
  5. So it begins....
  6. Thanks for the great feedback guys, its really keeps me motivated! John that motor is incredible, a 12 cylinder hemi , id say go with the 12 pack but whatever you decide to drop that motor into....it will definitely be crazy! Thank you for the support.
  7. I have had these wheels for a while but I've finally found use for them, unfortunately i only have 3 of the 4 rims. I have no idea what kit they come from but im guessing some Tamiya kit, also i have no idea what tyres are for these rims. Hopefully someone knows. Thanks, Dec.
  8. Its been a while, to be honest not much work has happened since my last post on this build. Really all i've been doing is planning the project out, making mesurments, checking those mesurments, then checking again. Before there was a slight misalignment of the transaxle but now i am happy with it so i did a little mock up of the motor, stay tuned for this coming Thursday...
  9. Thanks guys. Erik do you know if the tamiya calsonic r32 skyline gtr comes with an engine? Dec
  10. Does anyone know of anywhere that makes a resin model of a skyline engine from either a r32, r33 or r34 skyline?
  11. What a beauty!
  12. Oh and i've done a little work... It took a while to get the motor and transmisson lined up but its perfect, now the engine need stripping of that black paint which is a simple task and then primed and painted in a nice aluminium silver.
  13. Thanks for all the interest so far guys! Much appreciated! Weirdly enough this is the first picture i saw of the 1/24 quad cam Hemi and a soon as i saw it that was it, turbo chargers are a maybe at this point, really im just loving the look of the supercharger right now ha ha. No its not me who has a thing for pink Ferrari's ha ha but while we are on the subject of paint im thinking of a Tamiya acrylic lime green as the main colour then place mesh in random spots and spray matte black on those parts so it looks like a snake skin effect. EXACTLY! Im going to do what i can to this motor so it looks as if it has had modern day tuning, it will look insane!
  14. Yeah i agree, to be honest the Enzo nose has always put me off the car really. Me either, lets hope everything goes to plan Ahhh yes, i never thought this engine even existed at first but after looking at pictures of 426 Hemi's i came across this and just fell in love.... So after that i tried to find out if there is a scale version and i did but i thought this big brute needed a huge supercharger! Ha ha, thanks friend ======================================= I plan to detail the engine and engine bay as much as i can as well when its time but for now the main task is fusing these two together. I need to come up with a name for the car though, hmmmm............suggestions?
  15. So after waiting patiently this finally turned up on the 21st :D I began work by slowly cutting the front end off. I am currently preping the front end for further cuts, i also need to start preping the Enzo body for cuts, it is a little difficult to figure out where to cut it but i think im slowly getting there ha ha, but then again, moulding two very different cars together would take time. Keep you posted.
  16. I know it is possible to create many paint effects on model cars like rust and carbon fibre but is it possible to paint a body shell and make it look like brushed aluminium? Thanks, Dec.
  17. Thanks guys it good to know i have support on this project, it gives me the motivation to move forward so thank you all. I can't wait to start work on the front end to be honest Tom ha ha, i've had some personal problems of late so i took a break from building but visited the forum now and then to see what people are building, but i am now back to the craft for good the thought of adding the arches came from the engine oddly enough, i thought if it has the heart of a brute its got to look like one too, hopefully with the arches and the viper nose it will. I noticed i forgot to post a side view of the build so far, first i fitted the clam shell properly and it just clears that huge supercharger so i will have to think of something when i make the intake that will come from the back of the supercharger, also the sideskirts attached to the arches will be re modeled. Now its just a wait for pay day and the viper body to come through the post and work can really begin
  18. Thank you for great feedback guys, thats all the motivation i need So i was looking through my parts box today, i only really put parts that i don't use in there and never look through it but something told me too today and i found something that i think really sets this car off more......thoughts? Dec.
  19. I've never been one for building a stock car straight out the box, this project is no different but it will be the first time i put my own twist on a kit bash. The project starts with an ordinary Revell Ferrari Enzo, this car is like marmite, you either love it or hate it, personally i like the Enzo but i don't like the front end, mainly because i think the nose of this car has always been too long and those head lights are un appealing. The plan is to cut the front end off and replace it with the front end of a Revell Dodge Viper SRT-10 with the ACR splitter, obviously this is going to require time and patience but i think i can pull it off, Revell have been kind enough to ship me a Viper body but i still need the head lamps with lenses, the ACR splitter and front air dams. So why the Viper front end? Well, the nose would be a lot shorter for a start plus i've always loved the aggressive look of the Viper. I have modified the engine bay of the Enzo slightly to fit a bigger engine, work needs to be done on the firewall too but i will need to pick up some supplies first next week. Enough talk anyway, here is a teaser....am i creative, or am i crazy?
  20. I am currently looking for some after market BBS wheels, two must be 18" two must be 19", are there any after market model companies that make say 2 set of 4 wheels but one set 18" the other set 19" but the same wheels? Thanks Dec.
  21. I wasn't expecting this much interest already, thanks guys! There's not really been any progress over the last few days mainly because i have no supplies at the moment but also because of the heat over here the last few days, i managed to do a quick paint shot on the engine to see if it looks any good and i like it, cam covers will be matte black eventually. I havn't pictured the intake in these pictures yet because i don't want to use the intakes that come with this engine, im in search of a small supercharger not a pro charger that will fit this engine if anyone knows what would fit?
  22. So i havn't been on the forum in a long time and i thought i may as well do a project i will be proud of. As i havn't yet got the model kit i thought i may as well start with what i have got, the monster's heart. A 426 Hemi quad cam engine from a AMT Prostreet 1970 Dodge Super Bee. I have the engine in primer right now just to point out where i need to sand and fill in gaps, sink marks and generally tidy up. The engine and the body will both be painted to match the colour below. (Looks a lot better in sunlight) On to the wheels, they come courtesy of a Revell Dodge Viper ACR kit, the wheels shall be stripped of their chrome and repainted either matte black or semi gloss black with a chrome lip. Now, the car this will all be added to will be a AMT 1969 Plymouth GTX as it is my favorite Mopar but i have never built one, i will be using an after market hood though once i purchase the kit, specificly the one in the picture below. I have a few special plans for this car but il have to keep those a secret for now
  23. thanks man, which thickness is best to use because i have no idea
