tbh i think you should just build it as the tokyo drift car.

Thanks man the parts are helping alot OK so, today i have added the GT 500 white dials because they look better then the GT dials and because im using the GT 500 engine. Also after trial and error got the hydraulic handbrake in the right place and mocked up the seat, i will have to add some risers to the seat to make it look correct, i also have to make the new steering column fit without it coming to far forward. I need to get the resin lip and louvers still, a nascar rollcage and a new race steering wheel as i accidently stood on mine and it snapped Anyway, heres the mock up pics... Not the best angle but i think you get the idea.

So iv not had much time to work on models lately and no money but next week is my last driving lesson for a while so il be able to get alot of work done. heres a update on the dash, added a wire like the GTR, it will connect under the new steering column im adding which stole from a 67 GTX but i will change for a green one. il start on the door cards soon, il probaly sand down or putty over the speakers and sand away the moulded rear seatbelts. Anyway enough talk...

Strada Sports Mustang GT Intake
Deckerz replied to Deckerz's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks Dave, il send them a message. -
Some of you might remember the resin saleen style intake strada sports sold a few months ago. Does anybody else sell the intake? Unfortunatly i do not have a pic of it but most of you probaly know what the saleen intake looks like.

great work so far, love mustangs. what resin kit (im guessing) did you use to "clone" that engine? Is it the mustang gt engine? It looks it.

Very nice work I love these old early 30's to late 30's fords ever since i first saw the tv show american hotrod. I expecialy like that dragons head on the hood.

omg wow, great job, i love to get my hands on one of those superchargers.
-
wow great flawless paintjob and great detail with the brakes and those little hemi badges. does 3m polish leave no residue? the polish i use right now leave a white residue in all the door seams and other lines.

OK guys, here the situation with the body being used for this project, the one on the left is the one you have already seen in the pic above, the one on the right is the one thats going to be used, its not fully sripped yet, because i had no tub that was perfect to sit the body in and then bath it in brake fluid, i had to brush the brake fluid on which made it longer to strip but its not a problem. the hardest bit to strip was the clear layer because i used tamiya clear orange, once it got through that it was kinda like a skin, i peeled it off and most of the paint under that came with it, its now being stripped again just to get whats left off and on the inside, it will not take the primer off but it doesn't matter because its going to be re preped. im trying to do the windows now but i can't, they have a frosted look on the glass that need to be black but i keep going wrong with shapie. EDIT: Finished stripping the paint (except for that bit on the boot but that will sand off) can't get rid of the primer but it will be sanded down, then glue the resin parts (once i get some money in PP), re primer and paint silver then do the black detail in the headlights and blackout the tailights. So heres a mockup with the interior/engine bay tub and the temporary block (because is has no transmission). How i will be painting the engine bay is like this, same silver as the car then black detailing on the fuse box, battery etc The engine block will be gloss black, oil pan, intake and cylinder heads silver, supercharger flat black, and cam covers will be painted with red oxide primer then detailed with silver paint. Radiator will probaly be silver with black wash.

lol, i think actually i will get some of the 19 pegasus wheels because the sleeves will be too wide for the rear so i need to find some that are a little wider then the stock mustang wheels but not really wide. Also i need to find a way to lower the front because ATM it sits too high.
-
Don't worry, i had that problem before with the 23" but the 19" do the job nicely, they are a tiny bit smaller then the stock mustang wheels (with tyres), if i went with the 23" i think it will kinda look like a slammer hich i don't want. Thanks for the input.

Alright so im building this as a kinda last hoora before revell release the 2010 mustang (which i will purchase), i might or might not finish this before its released but i don't know when its being released. OK so first i need to give shoutouts to Modlbldr and Aftashox, these guys are great, Modlbldr set me up with a load of parts that will help big time with this build and Aftashox sent me a GT500 engine a while ago. The GT500 engine did not fit the engine bay so i thought at first the GT500 used a slightly different engine bay but its the same, so i tore the engine apart and noticed that the cam covers were on the cylinder heads the wrong way round, i put them the right way and now it fits (in the pic its just sitting together, none of the parts are glued), the engine did not have a tranny though so i emailed revell of germany and they said they will send me the 2 halfs of the engine block but won't arrive for 2-4 weeks, so iv salvaged what i can from this engine, the heads, the supercharger and the intake and iv now stripped them ready to be primered. The block will be black, the cylinder head will be silver along with the intake and oil pan, the supercharger will be black and the cam covers will be red with silver detailing. This is the basic design i have planned for this body with no decal on it yet, on this design iv included the resin front lip and 1/4 window louvers iv seen on ebay, i will also have to get the hood with the slightly raised cowl to fit the strut brace. This is the bullit mustang strutbrace in the pic below but because it uses the stock mustang engine it doesn't fit over the supercharger unfortunatly, i have 2 of these so i will try and modify 1 to fit but if that fails i will try make one abit like the mustang GTR strut brace. Now for the wheels, i don't want to use aftermarket ones because i know there will be fitment problems or modification needed that i CBA with so i think i will use the the stock GT wheels or these bullit wheels inside some pegasus aluminium sleeves. Finally the engine, here it is mocked up, not glued. The body in the pic is just to give you an idea of what its going to look like, the body im using is one from a old project, it is currently being stripped of the old paint and is going well. OK so thats all for now, progress will be slow the next few weeks until i get the engine but the body should be stripped soon then i can order the resin parts.

chances of finding model kits at carboot?
Deckerz replied to Deckerz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
oh well its hard to say what its like but kinda like a flea market, its basically like a big sale that has loads of stuff from car parts to fruit ect. -
Iv started work on the dash, im filling in all the climate control, cd player ect because its not needed in a race car. Once iv finished the dash i will paint it with a CF effect. The body is finished with putty work for now, all the basic stuff is done, now i just need to get a resin front lip, if it looks good how it is once glued i will prime and paint it but i might have to add putty to that too.
