I did warm the paint, iv stripped it about 3 time before so now im out of airbrush paint Iv had good paint jobs with rattle cans from hycote before when i painted xmods, i got airbrushs because they give better quality paint jobs but in this case not.

OK as far as i can tell tamiya paint is ###### to be frank. I dont know how all of you guys get flawless paint jobs, i tried my own way....texture, iv tried 3 tutiorials.....texture, its either the paint or me. I spray how instructed with my airbrushes, one cost £30, the other cost £4 and they give me the exact same rubbish results, this pic is after its been clearcoated, waxed and polished. Iv given up....project over!

Very sleek paint job, personally i think a set of 19" centerlines will set it off.

Looks alot like alot like my neighborhood tbh minus the wierd dress sense of these people, the fire hydrants and elvis on a bench :S other then that, quite similar.

This is my bike a barracuda kinsei, tbh i don't really like it but it gets me from A to B, i want to build a custom bike, paint n all, i just need to get my hands on the frame im looking for.

Nice to see you here Gecko. Heres an update, after i got the parts from Aftashox i couldn't help but use some of them straight away. Goodbye streetrace mustang, hello drag race mustang, don't worry guys i will build another street racer at some point. Thats right its back on the "stands" because the stock chassis would require so much work to get it right for the wheels, engine ect so next time iv got abit of money it down to the lhs to buy a load of styrene rods to build a new chassis. Oh yeah remember the amt fast and furious charger? i knew id find a use for part of it The hole in the engine lines up perfect with the little stub on the bottom of the intake, the chrome will be stripped and tidied up then painted titanium silver, im not going to use a hood now, i want the beastly engine to be on show. EDIT: Few more pics, mock ups of engine in car.

Cool, the metal one looks more accurate, the lotus twin cam and rover twin cam are the same apart from the badge, iv got the rover twin cam in my real car so its always a good thing to work from I might acctually go with the twin cam acctually now, i can get it more accurate and it will probaly be easier to get then a v6.

Wrecked Ferrari 458!!!
Deckerz replied to stevehansen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It will buff out haha The only ferrari's i like are the 430 (including stripped out version obviously) and 360. -
So i got this kit today, i also got and extra exhaust from tamiya for the engine going in this car. Iv decided to use these wheels some of you may remember from my gtx project, i see caterhams at my local hill climb event with these mini cooper wheels, im using them because they are wider then the stock ones and look better. Im going to cut off the front arches, add some splitters to the front nose and some vent to the hood. A custom roll bar will be made and i need to chop some bucket seats i have to make them fit. Need to get the last wheel off the coopers axle then cut the insides of them so they will fit. Rear susp will be made independent like the caterhams, the engine i want to use in this is a V6 so if anybody could hook me up with a tamiya V6 engine or set up a trade maybe i would appreciate it.

Metalflake paints for model cars?
Deckerz replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You can get small tins of car paint mixed at large auto stores, if you only need a little bit its usually free but if its not already thinned you need cellulose thinners and then thin at 1:1, that should make it consistant like milk and you should be able to spray through airbrush. -
Yeah i should be able to get it right, im going to build it caterham style which will require a new rear susp setup, engine and the wheel arches cut off but i can't decice what to cut with, brand new x-acto blade or brand new dremmel plastic cutting blade....dremmel is faster but knife is more acurate but if it slips its your fault :/ As i was saying i should get it right because i live 20 miles from a hillclimb event and there is always 2 dozen or more there. Iv already decided which wheels im going to use on it but i need to try and find the engine im going to use, oh im not using the engines they use in caterhams (ford 1.4 - 2.0 and rover 1.4 - 2.0) im aiming abit bigger then 4 cylinders, all will be revealed when i post in projects.

Ok this kit ain't exactly new but i thought id share. So i got this kit for £9 on sale at my LHS and i have to say it is a very nice and simple kit. The tyres are medium rubber, not hard but not the softest of tyres. There are 5 wheels and tyres, one would be a spare. It have a very nice metal front grill with it. Its got its ups and downs, great you get a detailed grill with the kit but it will need polishing and its a shame that when you look through you can see the plastic radiator but you could always get an aftermarket one. All the parts are simply moulded, the main parts are on two trees..... and all the little parts like headlamps lenses and chrome parts are on seperate small trees in a bag. Over all this is a great kit but it has some annoying features like looking through the grill and seeing that plastic radiator, the wheels are abit too thin, the front arches are moulded to the body, my kits engine doesn't fit too well. i give it 8/10. If you are going to build this like the caterham (acuratly) you will need to modify the rear suspension as its not the same, caterham uses independent, lotus uses live axle. Also change the arches and the engine, the lotus uses an old ford engine, the caterham uses either a ford or rover twin cam engine

Yep, the spares i have from this are the 1/4 windows, the stock grill with emblem and fog lights, the interior center console and rear seats and maybe a few other parts, il have to have a look. What are you looking for?

OK some pics, only paint i had left was gloss black so i just painted it and slapped a few decals on it, not totally happy with results because the 3 gtx decals had yellowed because they were old so they have a bit of yellow on them that i couldn't remove , also the paint turned out OK, i still need to clear coat it, should look better then. I am still waiting for the new hood and gt500 decals, there has been no postman down the street since saturday and the only parcel i got was by courier :/ and it wasn't the one i wanted haha. anyway here ya go.......

Best Way to Disassemble a Glue Bomb?
Deckerz replied to impcon's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Could also put it in boiling water, it will melt the glue and its fast but there is a downside, it could warp parts. -

This is a request, im wanting to start a new build soon but i need pics to start me off, i need some pictures of a 1/24 land rover chassis, i need pics of the top, the bottom and all sides along with messurments, i can then build the chassis and get it cast. Wondering why? Well we have a offroad racing competition called autocross up near where i live, basicaly you can use and car that exists or you build yourself, people usually use small cars like minis, mg metros ect, stick a v8 in the back and make it 4wd or rwd, im going to start competing as soon as iv built a car but i want to make a model prototype first.

Best styrene tube for constructing chassis'?
Deckerz replied to Deckerz's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
what would you recomend then? 4mm, 6mm ect. -
I can get a load of square styrene tubes for cheap but im wondering if it will be thick enough for constructing chassis'. Its is 2mm square which seems to be the width of most of the moulded chassis rail on stock chassis.

Oh right, i thought you paid $50 for the whole truck haha $850 is still good for what looks like a pretty big truck.
