  1. 1st pics of the day... Interior mockup, using the shifter from the amt F&F charger kit, imo the mustang one is too small. It all need a bit of light sanding. Also got the new grill Thankyou revell This kit is the revell muscle 06 mustang but i requested the grill from the bullit mustang because it clean, no badges or emblems. As im from the UK i didn't have to send a bar code and because i had to e-mail them directly my order was pushed up the line. Pic abit hard to see.
  2. Nice work on the belts Cliff, i was close to actually buying model harness' now i can make them out of my old kickboxing trousers haha.
  3. I got my flocking today but unfortunatly iv been busy all day working on my real car (MG ZR) so iv not got round to painting or anything so im a day behind. Iv got alot of painting to catch up on, i have a total of 5 paint that need to be used....flat black, gloss black, silver, titanium met orange and clear orange...only problem is iv only got white primer but it should be fine because black and silver cover anything. oh before i forget, i cut away part of the tranny so the engine will fit further back in the engine bay, it all glued and puttied together now and sitting as perfect as i can get it, im going to have to either shave part of the v10 oil pan to make it sit above the steering rack level or use a spare on from a v8, im finding it quite difficult to make the side engine mounts but hopefully i can pull it off. I think there might be enough room for a turbo now....now i just need to find somewhere that makes them. I will post pics tomorrow when stuff is painted.
  4. Iv got it mocked up right now with the interior and fender wells, it fits snug between the fenders, there is about a 5mm gap between the ford radiator (with fan on) and the drive pulleys which suprised me abit, i think if i put turbos on it they will have to go in the bottom corners of the front bumper but it might be better just to keep it simple and build twin induction kit instead which im currently working on, pics later. yeah i was searching vids before i started the project trying to find out if anybody had ever done a viper v10, 2005+ mustang but all i could find was that late 90s mustang mule with a that experimental ford v10.
  5. lol, thanks for comments guys, the hardest bit on this build is the front end....im going to have to cut the sway bar and steering rack in the center because they both hit the oil pan of the engine and push it up, i don't want that. i still need to make these engine side mounts too. The rest of the build shouldn't be as hard, iv got racing seats coming now, should be here in a week. Im usuall impatient with painting but as this body is flawless im going to take my time painting it. When i decide to get the body filler out for my charger project il get a little on this too, imo the emblem is way oversized so im going to fill in the hole so between the rear lights will be smoothed.
  6. Exactly lol, Maybe i should have called it the mustang twin snake. Here is the engine mounted, the viper oil pan hit the front of mustang chassis and makes it sit level so i don't know if i should make the side mounts or just glue the pan to chassis, once everythings painted of course. cut away the viper induction kit ready for my custom one, theres enough room for and intercooler but i don't think theres enough room for a turbo charger.
  7. Thanks man, iv cut away the original front engine mount and fabricated a new one. Its a tight fit in the engine bay but its better to have a tight fit then no fit i guess, pics tomorrow as its late now.
  8. I got this revell ford mustang in a trade without an engine which was fine with me. I still need a few things for this build, these include... A pair of racing seats and the revell gt500 heat extractor hood. Revell have been kind to send me the grill from the bullitt mustang kit but i am yet to recieve it, should come this week though. My own custom colour im using, tamiya clear orange mixed with tamiya metallic titanium silver, it turned out nice, should look even better on the body. Body....flawless, no dips, warping ect. The heart, dodge viper v10, intake will be painted the same colour as the body, the cam covers will be painted with alcad chrome II then the rest will be detailed. The back of the tranny fits perfect because it has a little stub that fit in the mustang chassis, im guessing the original mustang engine also had this stub. Only small cosmetic upgrades will be added, the gt500 hood (if i can get one), also the front lip and 1/4 window louvers from reliable resin, the interior will be slightly modded, a few more guages on the dash for the engine and the dash will be black flocked like race cars. All for now........
  9. Sorry for the bad quality but my cameras running low on power. putty moulding finished ready for stage 2....body filler. i always use body filler after for all the little gaps i miss. More updates tomorrow, i should have a few supplies come in the morning for this and other builds. Stay tuned....
  10. It just some mesh from a automotive store, luckily i don't have to travel far at all, the shop is just round the corner from me. Lol thanks man, its not a bad kit at all if you like customising because it requires abit of work. Im using a 426 hemi in this car, i just need to get the tranny for it but i don't know what its from :/ Also im going to be using the chassis from a revell 69 dodge superbee, it will need abit of trimming and cutting but it will make the build unique. Thats the hemi in my avatar, its been repainted orange though, if anybody could help me out with a tranny for this monster or even tell me what kit the engine is from that would be great. All for now....
  11. Stripped paint ready for primer then semi gloss or flat black, i can't decide. Moulding the F&F grill with the body then im painting it like the new fast and furious charger, black front grill with silver mesh. The mesh looks too big in th pic but once its bent to the curveture of the grill it inserts nicely onto the inside lip.
  12. Never really been a fan of convertibles but il be watching this. are you getting bucket seats like on the photo? if so where from im looking for a good set.
  13. Thanks, i was close to purchasing them from there but the shipping is abit expensive. If i could find any where in the us or uk that sell them.
  14. looks great so far, when its done are you going to polish it? it will look more authentic if you don't but its your choise.
  15. yep, im doing a 69 charger with a modified 69 super bee chassis and a 426 supercharged hemi.
  16. Nice job! you really are going for detail on this build. im stealing your torque boxes idea
  17. Thanks but they only have up to 1999
  18. I am expecting a 2005 ford mustang kit on tuesday by revell but i can only find a detail/photo etch set for the gt500. Most of the stuff from that set will work but not the grill. Any help?
  19. paint looks sleek.........what are you using?
  20. Iv never really been a fan of aston martin even though im from england but you have my attention. Are you painting it british racing green?
  21. haha that made me chuckle.
  22. What you need..... Engine degreaser (one that will make the engine shiny, it will give a glossy finish) Parts you want to de-chrome -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, get you parts you want to de-chrome and a tin/jar/cup, something to put your parts in. Next get your engine degreaser, i use a spray one that leaves the engine shiny. Next, simply place your parts in you tin and spray then with the degreaser, do not pour a cup of degreaser and put your parts in as it may start to eat the plastic. Xmods, Revell and Tamiya parts take 2 - 3 hours before you can scrub the chrome off.....AMT takes around 5 - 6 hours. Use an old toothbrush to scrub of the chrome. Heres some i did earlier... Revell Engine parts. Xmods Mustang rims.
  23. yup, it was originaly made by morris and austin but at later dates it was made my rover, mg, ect. Anyway, un box this little beast
  24. Im really digging these builds, i might have to pick-up one of these 70 kits myself, i love working on superbees dunno why but the kit i enjoyed building most was a revell 69 bee. I might have missed it from a previous post but what colours are you painting them?
  25. as the title says. if anybody could set me up with a few link to places that sell them? Cheers, Dec.
