  1. Thank you guys!
  2. Thank you!
  3. Thank you Brad! I just had another "Doh!" moment! I just realized that I forgot to install my battery cables and the hose for the windshield washer reservoir!
  4. I bought several kits from a friend of mine and this just happened to be one of them. Thank you for your compliments! Thank you so much!
  5. Thank you!!
  6. Wow! That's NICE!
  7. This was supposed to be a quick build-in-between-builds that ended up taking longer than it should have...(Note to self; next time you want a quick build-in-between-builds, DO NOT use an early Revell kit!). Sorry about that. Anyways... This car was built to replicate the box art. I've been in a 70's mood lately and this one kinda spoke to me. Especially considering the date on the kit was the year I was born (1976). It has embossing powder inside for carpeting. I ground out the molded-in chrome headlights and installed clear lenses. I also sanded the raised lettering from the kit-supplied license plate that said "LIL J" and instead made a license plate online using the same characters but used a more accurate license plate to the time period this car would've been built. The wheels were stripped of their horrible chrome plating and were shot with alclad. It was otherwise, built box-stock. The body was painted not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times before I was satisfied. It was painted in Testors Yellow and the fenders were painted in a brown that I custom mixed to my liking, using Testors enamels. They were then thinned out and shot through an airbrush. All in all, a fun build! I thought that this might scratch my 70's itch but I think it might have made it worse! Now I'm thinking it might be time for a custom 70's van or an early 70's muscle car/street machine. MMMMmmmmmmm.....
  8. Yesterday I was able to get the engine installed for the last time. I installed both inner fenders, core support, driveline, and exhaust. I'm hoping to have it on wheels by this weekend sometime. It's been awfully busy at work here lately but progress is progress!
  9. I will hopefully be back at this one here shortly. Busy time at work. Things will slow down after Spring Break. Thank you for watching! Thank you for your compliments! I ended up going with the 283 Fuelie out of the '57 Black Widow kit. I figured I already had some '57 Chevy stuff under it anyways. Lol. Plus, it should give me plenty of clearance. I already sent some pieces of it out for chrome. Stay tuned...
  10. Thanks guys! Yeah, it bums me out too. But like I said, I will find a home for it. In the meantime, I've been working on the replacement engine.
  11. That is SUPER nice!! Great job!!
  12. Don't forget to bend that dipstick up towards the head a bit. Excellent work so far. I will be watching.
  13. I'll be watching this one.
  14. Oh! This is just my speed! I love what I'm seeing so far. Kudos for the motor choice too!
  15. That dash looks fantastic!
  16. Nice job Randy!!
  17. I have kicked this thing around in my head and pulled it out and looked at it numerous times since my last update. Then, this morning I had an epiphany and decided that it wasn't necessarily that the tires were too small, it was just that I needed to lower it more! Lol. So I'm VERY excited to report and show you that I finally got the stance dialed in.
  18. That's sharp! It turned out great!!
  19. Nice save! Holy cow!
  20. This is so funny. I've been seeing crazy amounts of these Dodge truck builds coming out of the woodwork lately! It has inspired me and I just bought one today. I'll be watching your progress.
