  1. Welcome to the board buddy. I hope you enjoy yourself here. Now you'll be able to understand why your ol' man is stuck to the computer all of the time!
  2. Maybe I should've been more clear. I thought they dropped the Y-block after '57 in passenger cars. I know they kept it around in the pickups...
  3. No pics but I thought I'd throw up a quick update. Greg Meyers sent me some of those nerf bars that I really dug on George's truck and my missing front wheels and backing plates showed up from the Modelhaus this last week. I just pulled 'em outta the soakin' tank and threw a coat of primer on 'em. I'm ready to start painting. I just need a day off and some good weather now.
  4. I thought the Y-block was dropped after '57......am I wrong?
  5. You're a sick....sick man!! j/k but really, I definately hate that Revell '57 Chevy. I have the '59 Ford in my "to-do" collection still on the shelf, patiently waiting. I've heard it's a real booger. We'll see how that goes.
  6. Also-AMT's '56 Ford should have one too. I don't know how good/bad it is though.
  7. I've always been a '71/'72 fan. I've had 6 of them!!
  8. They were in Scale Auto. I have part 2 and part 3 of the series. Part 2 was in the April 2007 issue and part 3 was in June 2007. I would assume part 1 was in the February issue. If you need me to look something up for you, just holler!
  9. It's kind of hard to see in the pics but the best thing I can tell you is to carefully sand mold lines. Don't sand too much as you don't want to lose the contours of the original body. Sometimes a filler is also needed.
  10. Ok, I just wanted to make sure that they didn't mold in that detail.
  11. Looks good! I like it!
  12. I have a question regarding this kit though. Every build-up I've seen on this forum of this car, the chrome strips that run along the front fenders is not there. It's not there on the box-art either. What gives?
  13. That looks badass!!
  14. That's harder than you'd think!
  15. That's true. Thanks man!
  16. I knew I was going to like how this one turned out. I enjoyed watching this one come together. You did great!!
  17. That does sit well and looks great!
  18. 17 out of 19. Did better than I thought I would!
  19. I'm laughing out loud right now. You never know what you're going to get with this place. How on earth did this thread become about beer?
  20. Been seeing a lot of T-bolts lately. This is a really nice example too!! Glad you posted it. Now that you know how....let's see some more of your stuff!
  21. I'm 34 and have been building for 26 years. Both of my sons (8 and 5) started building at age 4 and each have almost ( ) as many trophies as their old man. They really, truly love building. They save up their money and make lists of kits they want when they go to shows/swapmeets. It was important to me that they were exposed to building model kits. I wanted to give them a chance to see what it's all about and to see if they'd enjoy it. Sure, they play video games just like every other kid these days. But if I have the day off and I'm at the table, they pull out their kits and go to work right next to me. I'm very fortunate! It's important to expose today's kids to model building. IT WILL DIE if we don't!!
  22. You ever have one of those threads that you never click on because the topic maybe doesn't spike your interest. But then you watch it grow.....3 pages.....4 pages......5 pages...and then you think "Maybe I should take a look. Let's see what all of the hub-bub is all about." And then you catch yourself saying "Wow! Where have I been?"!! AMAZING work!!! You can bet I'll be here watching now!
  23. Lookin' really good Wayne!
