  1. Really nice build and I just love dem Mopars!
  2. I woulda stopped for a "Chicago dog" anyway and let the kids sit in the car. My friend who lives in the Denver area takes Chicago dogs and Italian beef sandwiches on the plane with him when he comes here, as he is a "Chicago native" as well.
  3. Great S.L.A.M. meeting today at Rickie's Rods with lots of members, good food, and we had Captain Bob & Arlo from Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio as our guests today. Auction next month.
  4. Great job on both, and I just love dem Mopars!
  5. More snow comin' tomorrow (Saturday) night folks, so don't put your shovels away just yet.
  6. I've seen a few so called "candy" paint jobs ruined because the person painting the body didn't know when to stop when he was spraying the candy coats. You need to see the base coat underneath. For instance, too many coats of candy red will give you a maroon color. Go EASY on the candy coats.
  7. I like to buy and sometimes build vintage kits as many times it brings back good memories. Sure there can be potential hazards with and older kit of say 50 years, but by the same token, I've bought a recent sealed re-issued kit that was missing the body. With me being from the "old school" I really enjoy buying vintage kits from time to time.
  8. I owned one that I had bought new in the fall of '69 from Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge, and it was FAST!
  9. Lookin' good, and what color gold is that? TIA
  10. Craig, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Just wait 'til NEXT winter. LOL!
  11. That is lookin' real good John.

  13. Ask him, as I'm not his manager, I only know him and have done business with him personally and not through the mail.
  14. Relax, as it's only four months 'til the "Meltdown Drags" at Byron Dragway. There'll be "gassers" galore. Yahooooooooooo!!!
  15. Hmmmmm, this is an interesting thread as I guess I never paid much attention to the inaccuracies of the '34 Ford kits. I did assemble the snap-kit last year, but that was just for grins. You guys posted a lot of good info on the subject matter. Thanks!
  16. St. Paul is a bit of a hike for me and I would like to go to the NNL North one of these days. I was at the NSRA event back in '85 with a buddy of mine and we enjoyed the show immensely and we entered the model car contest as well. I think they had 'bout 8 or 9,000 cars there, and after awhile one didn't know what they saw and what they didn't. It was a great time!
  17. Harry's gotta be next. LOL!
  18. I've always liked the Ford Vicky body and also have a Flintstone "chopped" Vicky body in my "stash." Hopefully I'll build it someday. That's a sweet build Andy.
  19. Did you check in the bat cave?
  20. Gene, nice build you've got going there as I happen to be workin' on the same kit as we speak. I've got a good start on mine and hope to have it done in early April as I doing some home decorating as well.
  21. Don't put away your snow-blowers and shovels just yet folks. There's more to come.
  22. I'm hopin' to start a few more builds real soon and see if it'll increase my "bench time" any. I seem to work on one car for awhile, and then I'm done for the day. Don't get much accomplished this way.
