  1. You did good on finding that assortment of skirts. I'll have to check the swap meets myself.
  2. Great build on that "Elky" Joker, what kit are those skirts from? Thanks.
  3. Looks good as I'm working on a Deuce qwik build myself, and hope to have it done this week.
  4. That would be awesome as I've been trying to get a resin '60 El-Camino body for awhile. Bandit Resins did offer one, but the mold is shot and it's been taking awhile to make a new one.
  5. Yes, and I agree with you. The GOOD news is that it's not parked on MY property. LOL!
  6. A nice car show next Sunday on the 25th in downtown Grayslake, Illinois. I was at that show in '09 and lookin' forward to it next weekend. Of course, bring your camera or iPhone to take reference photos for future builds you might want to do.
  7. I don't think that the computer fan would exhaust the fumes as it moves fewer CFM's.
  8. To me, it's a bother and just another thing to do.
  9. Nice build on that Mopar!
  10. Hello Andrew and welcome. Be SURE to attend AMG's Milwaukee NNL about mid April of next year. This year we had 900+ models on the table, and you get to mingle with lots of nice folks from Wisconsin and neighboring states who love model cars & trucks.
  11. 25 MORE varieties? Slow down Chief as I haven't used the ones I got from you last month. LOL!
  12. Test spray on a spoon? Never, I just shoot from the hip and whatever comes out is it. Testing is way to complicated, just like with air brushes, you gotta have the right pressure, the right mix, gotta clean it right, etc.. EASY is the way for me.
  13. I use the Testors products often and lately I've been using Tamiya white primer as it goes on smoothly and thin so as not to hide all the details on the body. I only use grey primer if I'm painting the body silver or black, otherwise the grey changes the shade of the color coat, whereas white primer won't.
  14. I was lookin' at blueprints for years when I was working. I've had enough blueprints.
  15. Awesome 1:1 car show today at Palmen Dodge in Kenosha today with LOTS of great lookin' cars, free food, live band, and the Telstar "fuel dragster" Racing Team displayed their beautiful dragster and semi tractor & trailer rig. Of course they did start up that Hemi and the nitro fumes filled the surrounding air. What a sweet smell. I did get lots of pics which I haven't uploaded as yet. I will be lookin' forward to attending this show next year also.
  16. I'm very sorry to hear the sad news as I don't know the pain you're going through. Hang in there, trust in God, and remember that we're here for you.
  17. We'll be meetin' on the third Saturday of the month from 10 am to 2 pm starting in October, and it will also be an auction meeting.
  18. When the announcer called for the gassers to race at the local strip, he asked that the Gas COUPES & SEDANS come up to the staging lanes.
  19. The S.L.A.M. club (Southern Lakes Auto Modelers) had their monthly meeting tonight in Delavan, Wisconsin and it is always a good time. Tonight was swap meet night and several members brought kits to sell. The monthly meetings consist of a "build & bull" session with most members participating in the "bull session," however some members do build at the meetings as well.
  20. Lookin' good and without the "front clip" the car would run as an altered and not in the gas class.
  21. Yeah, I like it and my daughter bought me the Gran Torino DVD earlier this year for Father's Day.
  22. Good luck recovering from your knee surgery and do the therapy as it is VERY important. Ask me how I know.
  23. Back in the 80's I drove to Hegewisch to buy a furnace for my house. That was so far south, that I thought that I would need a passport.
