  1. I presonally don't like ebay. I also have an excellent local hobbie shop where I am. You will spend 18 to 25 a kit there. But I also like online vendors too. One of my favorites is starmodels.com But my all time favorite is a swap meet. These are often associated with contests and NNL's. That is where I get my biggest bang for the buck.
  2. thanks for the tip on the model. It's not going to happen right now. Had hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago, and will be laid up for 10 more weeks. My modeling budget has been suspended till i get back to work. As far as decals go, if you are looking for Ne State Patrol decals, you may have to create them from pictures. I never could find any. But hey, good luck with your project. And when you get it started post pics we'd love to see it in progress.
  3. Wood veneer. Never thought of that. Nice touch. Great idea. Another one for the gotta try that sometime file.
  4. All of Nebraska's cars back then were white. The enterior on the one that i had was a medium blue color. They were all 2 door models. I had some old pictures of the car somewhere but have not been able to find them. Hope this helps.
  5. Man you got my attention! I'd love to see the progress on this one.
  6. Feels good doesn't it?
  7. Hey. Anybody seen Romell lately? Hope everything is well. We were enjoying your build, hope your backsoon.
  8. Once again I am awe struck. As one of the guys put it, " I'm a modeler you're an artist". I enjoy watching your threads I learn something from each one, that I will more than likely try in the future. You have a real talent for this and I admire your skill. Keep inspiring us to challenge ourselves. Thanks.
  9. Whats not to like. I think it looks sharp. Looking forward to seeing it with wheels under it.
  10. Don't worry you're not alone. I had a 1:1 78 Dodge Monaco. It was a retired Ne. State Patrol car. ( yeh they used 2 doors ) Had to sell it with 3 teenage kids, and gas milage at about 9 mpg. I couldn't afford it. Sure do miss that car. Always looking for a 1/25 scale model, not much luck.
  11. All I can say is...Kool!
  12. So ugly its beautiful, gotta love it.
  13. Very nicly done. The 62 is one of my favorite subjects. Very tastefully done. I really like your work here. Look forward to seeing more in the future.
  14. Very nice. I will have to keep an eye on this one. Kinda fond of those old Mopars, owned a few over the years, wish I still had them.
  15. I can't hardly believe my eyes. Your hand brushing is amazing. You've proved it's possible, now all I've got to do is practice. So off to the work bench....
  16. I love this forum. It's almost like we get to try new ideas, even those we've never thought of, when we don't have the time. Can't wait to see whats next. What great ideas. I sometimes think I learn more here than at my workbench. Keep up the good work.
  17. thank you . Will give it a try. I knew someone would have a suggestion. Thanks again.
  18. Just got home from major surgery. Can't get to the man cave, it's downstairs, so I can't get to my paint booth. The kit I'm building is the polar Lights Batman car from the 60's comiic book. It's molded in black, and is done fairly well. So I tought I'd just polish the plastic to bring out a decent shine. Thing is, I don't know how.Any suggestions? Thanks guys, Paul
  19. The other day I got my old phone charger cord wrapped up in the vacume cleaner, it pulled the ends off of it, but inside were a black and red wire perfect for battery cables. didn't have to make a trip to the hobby shop.
  20. Cranky you've done it again. Great tip. Ive gotta give this type of modeling a try I've always admired this style from a distance. Now that I got an idea how it's done, its time to jump in and give it a try.
