Thanks for your response guys. Cruz, that interior looks awesome, I love what you did with that Impala, how come I have not seen it here in the forum? I will look into that palnt.
I am in the process of painting the interior of a '68 Dart and I want to paint it black, currently I am not happy with the paint I have chosen, it is either too glossy or too flat and even the colors and shades in between are just not right. What paint do some of you use to better simulate this?
Gorgeous paint jobs but I agree, they seem to be dipped in syrup, they look cool but they also look toyish. Sorry, don't mean to be negative or critical, the camera or angles don't have anything to do with it, it's just too much paint on the models.
This is awesome man, not surprised to see this coming from you even if it's a subject you are not used to. As always, the paint looks phenomenal and the decal work is top notch. Did you ever consider clearing them?
At least to me, the Fujimi Rally Porsche was my favorite. Has anyone here tried putting together one of those Enthusiast Series kits? They can be quite challenging. I saw the work in progress and thought it was great.
Didn't even know you had built that Dart, that thing is gorgeous. The Victoria and the Tbird are out of this world, incredible paintjobs on those things and smooth as glass. I keep hearing so many good things about Donn Yost's method of painting, have you considered using it? Not that you need it
Donn's cars look great, I just don't like the dipped in syrup type of paints and with enamels you usually get that. I personally like to see all the subtle details on the bodies of some cars and when you put that much paint on a model, sometimes it kinda defeats the purpose.
Thanks Dave but, after seeing how good of a job Cruz is doing on this thing, I am seriously considering giving my kit to him so that he can build it. Hopefully we can come up with something, I certainly don't have the talent he has to build mine, specially with the decal part of it.
Wow Cruz, looks like you are on your way to another incredible build. Are you sure you never touched one of these? Paint looks great, never heard of that color from Tamiya though, is it from a spray can? Military color?
Thank you Cruz, that's more of the response I wanted to hear! Now, why aren't you sharing your build as you usually do? I didn't even know you were into them.
Thanks for the quick lesson there Cruz, God knows I really needed that since I also have so many issues with this flocking thing. That interior just looks awesome. I was using the glue right out of the bottle too so I will surely try the thinning trick to see how it works. Also, I am headed to Wal Mart for the purchase of my food dehydrator. I love this forum!
I don't know, I look at it this way, at this scale (1/25) even the nozzle size of an airbrush is out of scale which means than even orange peel at this same scale will be out of scale when compared to the 1/1 car. I believe that the magic to a good looking paintjob at this scale is definitely the mastering of a polishing kit no matter what paint or clear you use. I agree with Skip, some modelers will really put a spit shine on a model that will amaze anyone but at least the ones I know personally always use a polishing kit, there is no other way around this.
