  1. This is very nice Cruz as usual. Are you charging the guy for this build? If so, how much do you charge for your services, I am very interested in some work, I am more of a collector than a builder.
  2. Paint came out sweet Cruz, that's one of the good things about using enamels, not much elbow grease at the end. Can't wait to see it BMF'd and w/ the decals in place.
  3. Hi there guys, I hope some of you can help answering this question, I have a Johan Cuda I want to build but I want to use a different and more updated chassis than the toyish one that comes in the kit. Which chassis is the best one to use? Would it be a 70 Challenger? A 71 Charger? Please help!
  4. I don't want to burst anybodys bubble here but I bought one of those and after a week it didn't work anymore. Decided to buy another one and after 2 weeks, I returned it, temperature just kept jumping up and down when using a thermometer. I personally wouldn't trust it, cheap stuff usually cost more in the long run. Harbor Freight tools are good to have if you do light work around the house, they are not meant for long term use. I am a carpenter by trade and believe me, I learned my lesson with these cheapo tools.
  5. Again, you have a constructive critisism on the build and people understand wrong. This build is certainly being appreciated and as highway says, it's because of this review that I will be buying this kit also. Additionaly, when you publish this in a magazine, it will surely be noticeable. I am not trying to make a big deal out of this but when you have a few years trying to perfect your skills, it's kinda hard seeing a "professional" not addressing these small issues and as Kevin says, why not take the opportunity to show how to take care of those issues while writing the article either here in the forum or in a future featured article in a magazine which I am certain will happen.
  6. Wow! Quite a difference with the rims painted vs the resin counterparts. Really gives this thing a completely different look. That shade of Alclad is just right also.
  7. Looks old alright, nice weathering work man.
  8. Same here, no need to seal.
  9. Nice work on the engine Cruz, I love it.
  10. I don't know guys but I have heard of quite a few modelers having success wetsanding metallics and clearcoating after that. If you look at that paint, the metallics are very small and if you use a 4000 grit sanding cloth like Marcos did, I don't see why you wouldn't get away with it. At least to me it looks great. I see that you polished out your finish already looking at the interior shots, can't wait to see the pictures outside.
  11. Looks like an interesting project, good thing you belong to this forum, lots of good builders here, not to mention, a lot of help.
  12. Just bought me some Dupli-Color touch up paint, the one that comes in an applicator type bottle for fixing scratches. My question is, what do you guys thin it with? Regular Lacquer Thinner? Acetone? Please, help me, it's my first time airbrushing this thing. Also, what ratio for paint/thinner? Thank you.
  13. Very clean and cool work, paint is awesome too.
  14. Hey Cruz, what do you do to make those panel lines look so good, looks like those doors open if you were to pull the door handles. I see a lot of great paint jobs but I also see that a lot of modelers miss this small detail.
  15. The combination of all the different blue colors is just awesome, this thing looks mean as hell and that paintjob, WOW! Do you have any pictures of the interior before mating the body to the chassis?
  16. Those seats look awesome Cruz, I see you did a lot of masking on those things! With the Bristol Blue color on the outside in conjunction with the interior, it will certainly look awesome. What tape do you use for your masking?
  17. Nice vinyl top, there is a guy here, don't remember well, who did a vinyl top using 3M Spray Adhesive and it was quite realistic, not that yours looks bad but he had a very cool technique and mentioned that it was pretty easy to do. I love the green color you chose for this model.
  18. As a really skinny nerd, I find it doubly offensive....
  19. OOOOH YEAAAAAH! Just bought this kit last week and needed someone with experience to build one, I need to copy from everything you do. I love the way that chassis is going to turn out.
  20. Went with the Olds, details are too nice, AMX is nice because is rare but Olds looks much better.
  21. This question is more for the guys that use urethanes as clear coats. I would like to know which are your favorite brands, PPG? Dupont? Also, availability, can I just pick it up anywhere? Can something be ordered through the internet? Also, mixing ratios, PSI settings and lacquer thinner suggestions. Everything you experienced guys can give me. I have pretty good success with Tamiya Clears but would love to try something new.
  22. I think Kevin brings some good points here, while there is a lot of information in Google, I believe it's also a good idea to ask questions in the forum, a lot of times people will suggest an idea that can help in using a better method or even finding an item in a store such as a specific paint or color that it's hard to find. Hearing different opinions is always a good thing, I also use Google to try and get my information before asking any questions here but it certainly doesn't hurt.
  23. Awesome build no matter what.
