raildogg replied to raildogg's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed

Interesting Truck and photo

I have found the patent drawings for the cab, chassis and removable power units configuration. The drawings most look like the on shown in the post of Mike77. The only parts I did not find are the radiator shrouds and engine cover if any. Anyone know of any rear views of this oddity?? -
Will he ever update his site or have someone do it for him. Every single time I want to order stuff it's out of stock. This has been the case for more than a year now ,maybe even longer. Is anyone in contact with him.? I know, that balancing a day job and a side line is tough but, not updating has cost him business many times over now. He has had stuff one can only find on his site, but then one cannot purchase it because" it's out of stock". This is not the only site that I have seen references to this issue. What's up 'Kraut!!!!!

Is anyone using this spray booth? Thoughts?
raildogg replied to Ryan S.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes, mine is not only enclosed but, separated from the main box by the filter wall. The rear of the unit also houses a retractable cord unit. -
Put me on the list also. Very interested in a set for my Lone Star

This tip is not mine but I'm sure it will be useful. Put a drop or two of Liquitex Flow Enhancer in Tamiya Acrylics to stop it from drying too fast while airbrushing. It can be a problem when it's too warm or humid out. Helps inhibit grainy surface finish.

Oh, I thought someone would mention that. It is deceiving that. Yes, it is meant for under or atop of a window sill. I put mine up top so it doesn't mark up the vinyl siding. Still it's s great buy and a worthy tool. -

Yes, I also have used it many times. It's a little small, but, I added some foam board wings onto the sides and top to gather in spray back and now its great, grabs all the mist and sucks it away. I'd recommend it, it is as good as any $200.00 unit I have seen! -
Yep it's Tamiya that has the inside track on the F4UI, very detailed and probably the most accurate of all the issues. I do believe that it includes both types of canopies, soon to be profiled in their magazine. Price is what keeps me away from larger scale modelling, I'm retired now disposable income has vanished. Michael Paul Smith's Incredible dioramas and models
raildogg replied to Sixties Sam's topic in WIP: Dioramas
Great photos but it's the models that are the focal point. Rod Serling would have used these in the Twilight Zone for sure. Erie and yet, beautiful in it's desolation. KUDOS -
There are a bunch of new high quality kits now available. Check out 1/32nd scale online. Zoukie Mauro(sp) is in the forefront with Wingnuts close behind with WW1 Biplanes. These models will cost you though. There is even a 1/32nd B-17 coming this year for around $250.00, so far. I had a Trumpy Corsair F4 but traded it away. It has been replaced by a newer more detailed model. Good Luck, this is a high end subject.

Hey Danno that's cute ! I just started to do an engine from a Star Wars set. I do not do space stuff. Got to admit the oddness of it is interesting.

Anyone ever had this malady. It started just before the site meltdown. I planned to scratch build a Link Belt Rough Terrain Telescoping Crane. I got the information made scaled CAD drawings, planned the best way to build it with available materials and sizes, and Bada Bing!! It hit me, now I don't want to do it. Man that's crazy, did all this prep and no juice. Has that ever happened to you before. I have gotten this illness several times now. Is there a cure, comments please, Thanks for the ear guys. Oh yeah the only real fly in the soup is the tires and wheels, no resin or suitable substitutes, bummer.

Where and how to find and do these rims
raildogg replied to mnwildpunk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Need some I might have em. PM me we'll see what I got. -
I looked at thy smith web site and the line drawings caught my eye. Does anyone think the drawing of the cab is too short compared to the other images? I think it needs to be longer to accommodate the fifth wheel apparatus?. On a side note. I think I once stumbled onto a drawing made by a Russian designer that looked similar but was done in the 1920's. I have looked for it but could not find it. It was of a three wheeled automobile though. Strange small world. Has anyone else seen that other drawing in their web images browsing?? Do not think ,I think anything other than random coincidence

I downloaded all the truck and cranes. Will try to make cad plans from them. Thank you.

Send me a PM want free blueprint too. Thank you
