  1. The Mayan, believed that this is when the Sixth cycle ends, that's all. The end of the sixth cycle and the beginning of the seventh. It is left to unseen, and ,unknown generations to write, a new calendar for the next 56,000 years, until the next end of the new world. In the mean we are left to suffer the pains, and joys, of the current time left to the Sixth Cycle of the GODS.
  2. This is the most radically original idea I've ever seen. Worthy of a real world build, hello Fooze ! It's got my juices flowing in like ideas. KUDOS for a real fine build. More, more, more!!!!!
  3. I have been building the Revell KW 900 Wrecker, kit #85-7634, the Fred's Automotive truck. I must say, this one, is the worst kit for trimming and sanding I've ever seen. All the parts have mad mold lines and flash on them. There is also some mold shift present too. So, I thought I might ask does anyone know how to date a kits manufacture?. It was made in Denmark, so I guess that makes it Revell of Germany, although it does not say that on the box. I hope I posted in the right Forum. Any thoughts on this subject.
  4. As a back story, I don't surf the web very well. When I look for images of blueprints I get some really odd stuff. A recent search for searchlight drawings had in its results pictures of, Congressmen, naked women, aircraft plans, flashlights and various unrelated images. Now I know the words also get looked at by the search engine, but what am I doing wrong. I've always had this issue. I can never get images of what I asked for, but I seem to get everything else. I may have this post in the wrong place, and I hope it's not inapropriate, but I trust that maybe some of you may also have had this issue with web searches. What say you??
  5. "I am legion for I am many". I am among other things, a Master Wood Pattern Maker, for sand cast foundries, now retired by the lax economy, former proffesional guitar player, CAD Mechanical Draftsman, model maker, sctratchbuilder, Armor modeler, model rairoader, hobbiest machinist, and, former custom furinture maker, and sometimes luthier. Apublished author of wood working tools and techniques. I am HUMAN and Male and more than ready to slow down and smell the coffee.
  6. Wow!, what a firestorm!. If they made tires like Tamiya does we'd all be satisfied. I think they have the best tires in both accuracy and fit. I also like the idea of wrapping the tread detail around a styrene carcass. It would lend itself to some fine script engraving on sidewalls. If done correctly they could be made of styrene also, made thin so they would flex too.The tread pattern strips could then be varied as to type make and size. Laid out flat all kind of details are possible, even the flat side bulge to show a weighted stance.. And I've never met a modeler who wanted to roll his models about, at least in my travels. What with the prices climbing you'd think they would be willing to keep we buyers very happy, yes?.
  7. First, I must admit this topic is, a thorn in my side. I have strong opinions and feelings about it, that, may be considered "out there". I want the model manufacturers to make them fit, which despite modern mold making technologies, seems impossible for them. I have fostered ideas to anyone who would listen, and still results are not forthcoming. Recently while looking for something unrelated I happen upon an image that gave me another idea, I'm full of'em, ideas I mean. LOL. What if the tire was made so that the inner diameter was adjustable by the modeller himself !! So is that so difficult. Or since the majority are some kind of flexible material, deliberately make them smaller. I should think that, changing the molds where the tire impression are made can't be that expensive. C'mon they make changes all the time. See, I can get crazy sometimes. And making my own tires is not cost efficient. Instead of another '32 Ford or Model T let's have tires that fit.
  8. Thanks but I din't have those softwares. I have a copy of Phot Shop 2007 but never learned how to use it. I guess I'll have to use my inkjet printer and make'em myself.
  9. Thanks. The info will be of great help in building a chassis for this bash puller. Thank You.
  10. Well if this comes up this is the engine I have. This is only one half of it, I got two engines so that's four pieces. So, what comes next if I want to say build a jet powered pulling tractor type model? What if I want to use two engines? Any ideas as to a transfer case or transmission box?
  11. I think so. My originals are made in AutoCAD 2000 can be either dxf. or dwg. or even stl. file extentions. Is this considered artwork program ?
  12. Yes incoveinent. I'd like to just change out the bottles, rather that transfer paint and thinners from bottle, to bottle ,to bottle, all the time I'm painting. Maybe my technique is inefficiant, maybe even sloppy, but it's the way I do it. I just thought maybe someone else may have done it before and had some ideas and advise.
  13. Oh, Man I can't remember. If I can I will add some pictures later today. Sorry. I didn't mean to come off stupid!, I was trying to be correct.
  14. I sent that Redpegasus an email over a week ago and I have as yet to hear back. It was asking what format he needed for a quote on original artwork. You know, because I think we, as modelers, need some of these services more often, you'd think there would be more availible. I did a Google search for same and suprisingly, there are really not that many. I wish that modelers, as a group, could get some of these type services going, for modelers by modelers. I wish I could to do it myself, but I'm retired and funds are really tight. This economy is tough on us of age, but I digress. What I fantisize about are, decal, photo etching, chroming and realy good wheels and tires, services that are cheap and well made, without the spectre of coporate profit mentalities. I think this is getting away from me and turning into a RANT so I"ll stop. I hope you all get the real intent of where I was going!.
  15. Has anyone ever adapted the paint bottle cap feeder of a Badger Product, to a Tamiya paint jar successfully? I paint a lot with Tamiya colors, and it's damm inconveient to keep changing, and pouring and getting everthing messy. I am thinking a good seal with five minuet epoxy could work, what do you all think. Comment welcome.
  16. I'm not sure what that is What do you mean, who I bought them from or what engine it's supposed to be? as far as who I bought them from E-Bay gets the nod here, about ten years ago.
  17. O.K. That's pretty close to the engine I have but without the output shaft end cover and related air intakes. So I could just conceptualize the missing details, thanks a lot that sure helps clear up stuff. Thank You
  18. I have resin Bat-mobile Jet engines, and to me they seems incomplete. I think it's rather short and missing something. What would plausibly go on the intake end of a jet engine. I have an idea to use it in tandem in a what-if build. Sine I am unable to load photos here I will have to rely on memories and general knowledge for help.
  19. Thank you. I have some more stuff I've done, but until I get posting photo's right, I'll post more later. You know I must confess that, that KW used to be a Movin On model. A long time ago before I became aware of what this hobby meant, I bought two of these kits when a local department store was closing. Having a final sale, I wandered in, bored with the days doin's, and got them for $5.00 each. They stayed in the boxes until one day I needed some bits for an H.O. Train layout and the rest is history. What is shown, minus the scratch built septic tank is all that I had left of two full kits. Yes, it took two kits to get that rig! I have almost, almost, decided to scrap it, and salvage the parts for numerous fantasy builds. How could I have dreamed, they would be so highly prized, and, highly priced kits. What a BONE HEAD ! right.
  20. As a casual fan of this type of Motor Racing this has one outstanding human benefit not mentioned. Ever notice how many kids wear ear protection, if this cliks it will be a kid safe form of Motor Racing. Ever been to a NASCAR Sprint Race, LOUD OR WHAT !!!!
  21. Fabulous, how did you do that, I've got others.Thank you GeeBee
  22. I still don't think I got it
  23. Here's one of a not so ususal suject
  24. o.k. I think I have been misunderstood. I didn't mean a full blown tut on how to make photographs , but, simply how to post them correctly. I know the, copy and img thing I just was suggesting that there must be a correct and friendly way to do it successfully. What about CAD files like dxf. and dwg.? Can we add them to posts also?
  25. I tried to upload some photos from Photobucket once here, but was unsuccessful. So, I searched for a tutorial, I did find it but it was so low quality I couldn't hear it, or get the images clearly, so I gave up. I have a low patience tolerence level. Since then I haven't tried again, I'd to share some of my builds with the membership. I think those of us who have the talent ought to make a clear and concise tutorial for uploading photos and documents, and CAD images such as dwg. and dxf. and maybe even stl. files. Maybe the Moderators could also weigh in here also?.
