  1. A long time ago there was a site called something like scale equipment something or other. They had a step by step instruction download for a Rodgers type lowboy trailer. I mistakingly tossed my copy out in one of my purges, my bad. Does anyone remember this site? Man, I'd like to have that instruction sheet again, HELP
  2. OK now that I've found it and using it has anyone recycled it. I've noticed some chrome flakes on the bottom of my dechrome tray. Can I run it through a filter and reclaim it for storage when I'm finished decheoming??
  3. Yes I found that stuff, L.A. Awsome at my local Family Dollar Store. This stuff is fabulous. I sampled it with one chrome wheel rim, and over night it's as clean at the proverbial baby's bumm. I also sampled 90% Alchohol and that also did fine. Got a handle on this now, going back for more L.A. Awsome. YIPPY!!!!!
  4. Looking for a blueprint, drawing, or diagram for a, Tracked Log Arch, and a Hyster Cable Winch to go along with my AMT Cat D8 Dozer. I hope someone can help, I can't seem to find them. I get plenty of images but nothing with measerments or plan views. HELP!!
  5. Thank you just what I needed.
  6. I am looking for a good place to get some big rig Mack 5 spoke wheels and tire sets. I've looked at Sourkrauts site and he's always sold out of the ones I want to buy. Ma's doesn't have 'em, nor Modelhaus. I thinhk it's cheaper than creating a master and molding my own. I just don't seem to be able to score an in stock supplier. What's a guy to do! All comments and sources welcome.
  7. Re Dechromeing solutions, I went to the stores the other day to buy some of the recomended products. I looked for the Castrol purple stuff, the L.A. stuff, and many of the rest at the stores mentioned in the posts I read. Well I could not find any of them. Not at The Dollar store Home Depot, Lowes or even PepBoys. The one thing I did see at all those retailers was, Blechle-Wite Tire Tire Cleaner by Black Magic. I bought a 1 qt. spray bottle for $4.99 USD. I hope it will work. Comments welcome.
  8. GREAT Thanks. Now do you know where to find big swamper style tires and wheels? I am not to hot a web searcher.
  9. Where do I find those pictures of Modelhaus brand resin tires?. I think it is on this site that I've seen a series of pics showing tires ofered by Modelhaus. Am I brking up the right tree here?.
  10. Sorry about the wrongness of my question. I just wanted it to be in the best forum possible. Tips and Tricks seemed the best place to ask for a comment on this issue. Thanks guys.
  11. O.K. guys I hope I don't cause a fuss but, once and for all, "what is the all time best, and safest non toxic way, to de chrome parts". I just got a Lone Star kit and want to de chrome some major parts of it and I do not want to sacrifice or ruin any of them. I need a sure fire, works every time, best of all time technique. O.K. Let the solutions begin!
  12. Speaking of paint, I think it's metal flake correct?. So where and what the name of that paint. Bitchin' Man!!! Please reply PM on that paint. Thanks
  13. I've been using surplus machine nuts. The one from nuts and bolts only no bolts.
  14. O.K. Dave sent two emails thanks
  15. O.K. I'm getting it now. I guess I'm a little hard headed,LOL. First I'm trying the good self gassing resin from SmoothOn then I'll just have to build my own setup.
  16. My message box is empty? I thought WoodWorkerJoe? had a venturi I could use is that real. Anybody use one?. I am short on diposable cash so I'm looking for a one stop aparatus to use in my endevors in resin casting. What do you say guys am I fooling myself or does my idea have a chance?. I just emailed them but I still want your input you guys seem savy to me.
  17. O.K. I have a compressor, is there an accessory to change it up for vacuum? Details please
  18. My Dad used to have a friend who owned a liquor store that had a Mustang half imbedded into the roof. Looked like it crashed there. What a memory flash back. Thanks. WOW
  19. I wasn't aware that some break up full kits to piece them out. WOW What balls man. This is lending credence to my issues with kit wheels and tires. Oh, I haven't expressed myself here. I have had several kits that have the worlds most awful tire and wheel combinations. They dont fit on the wheels!. They'er either too big or too small. I wish that someone would make resin copies of them as a standard after market item for a reasonable cost. The $20.00-$25.00 dollar sets are rediculous, just for two tires or two wheels! I mean really!. I must get to making my own. DAMM
  20. This is the part of this casting idea that cofuses me. Is it pressure or vacuum that I would need. I plan on building some exotic big rig trailers, Schnable and special heavy duty types. They have mad tires man ,and to buy them would render the project undoable, the costs would be prohibitive to say the least. So I will experiment with an Luminite kit I'v had for a longish time, unopened, still factory sealed and then move on to real stuff from Smooth-On. Their stuff seams interesting. I am a retired Master Pattern Maker for the sand casting industry and have used two part urethanes and casting epoxies so I'm not a total noob. But, I'm used to have all the right equipment on hand in the shop, which I do not have at home. I like the pressure cooker idea though, but you'er right self gassing resin is the ticket. More comments and help is needed.
  21. How does one degas a mold if one does not have a vacuum pump or expensive chamber? Does the mold need degasing or just the resin itself?
  22. I have emailed him and haven't yet recieved a reply, but, in this thread I've found the price of a day cab for the new Lonstar kit by Mobious. Now can someone suggest a way to order one from him ?.
  23. I like it, one question though, where did you get the day cab and how much did it cost?. I am interested in getting a day cab for next build, but I'm not a fan of the great bulging roof of the sleeper. Looking forward to following this build.
  24. I have searched several blueprint sites and come up short. I've sent an email to the DIVCO org. and haven't heard from them as yet. But I'm still hopeful some one of us may have the info I need. I am still looking!
  25. I've searched that site to no avail. They do not seem to have one, not even the company badge in the index.
