Really nice build Neil ........... great work ! -
.... this is another of those old, warped kits that I attempted many years ago and gave up on .......... found it in a box in the attic ............ and tried to bring it somewhat back to life .................... so, here from 19 years ago is the 1995 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet Monte Carlo .......... owned by Joe Gibbs and Driven by Bobby Labonte

The build has a chassis and basic engine from the AMT Bantam Blast kit ...... the "T" body is from Competition Resins, as are the Moon Valve covers and front tires and wheels ....... the magneto and spark plug boots came from Pro Tech and the Enderle "Bugcatcher" injector came from a Revell funny car kit ......... the radiator shell was extended using sheet plastic and an upper chassis crossmember was built from styrene rod .......... the paint is MCW White, and the decals came from Slixx That's about it guys. Thanks for commenting on my replica of Gary Hazen's beautiful fuel altered.

Welcome Tom .............. glad you're here

Welcome Neil .......... glad you've joined us

Thanks for the nice comments guys .......... and Mike, I didn't make a cowl covering .............. that's just a Competition Resins "T" body straight out of the box

I think you are being too hard on yourself Thomas .......... I really like your work and your cars look good .............. as for the Hoosier fender decal with Goodyear Eagles mounted on the car, it happened all the time ........... the Nascar rules during the great "Tire War" stated the decal must match the brand of tire that the car qualified on and started on, but after that, the car owner could opt to change brands during the race if he wasn't pleased with how the first brand was working ............ it happened more than you would imagine .......... the Hoosiers were softer and qualified better, but the Goodyears were superior for the long runs ............ I have done some of my builds the same way .............. by the way, I like your Loy Allen Hooters Thunderbird I thank you for your complement, but my builds are far from perfect ............ most all of them have defects also .............. the main thing is to just keep building and HAVE FUN -
I'm guessing that, since the site is still down, we have lost Randy Ayer's great Nascar site and all its wealth of Nascar model history for good. What a shame
