Interesting. I have a 63 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible unbuilt in the stash and it does have separate lower front suspension A-frames. As does the 64 Bonneville Hardtop and convertible (which I don't have). By the 1965 models, they are back to the molded in chassis parts. 1961 and 1962 Pontiacs had the molded in as well. Also interesting is the 65 Impala had molded in front but separate rear and partial molded in exhaust

AMT (Round2) 1961 Chevrolet Impala
Exotics_Builder replied to Junkman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
To be clear, the kit I built (Lindberg) had the inline dual quads and I replaced them with the AMT 62 Impala Short Ram option. The Cragar wheels were from the 66 Nova kit and I used American Satco blackwalls. It would be interesting to see what Round2 has included in this kit that differs from the original Lindberg. -
Waiting, myself, for the Z/28

Is the Revell single car trailer coming out?
Exotics_Builder replied to Nova-ss's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes, it showed up in several issues. Also, the AMT 76 Caprice has a single axle trailer. -
AMT (Round2) 1961 Chevrolet Impala

Could be. I don't have an original. The little bit of shallowness was brought up by others. But tub interiors can be interesting at times. -
AMT (Round2) 1961 Chevrolet Impala

Depends on what you are looking for in a kit. If you are looking for the custom pieces and willing to look past the era "shortcuts" in detail, then the original is definitely in play. If you intend to build a reasonable stock facsimile of the bubble top, the 1990's vintage Lindberg kit offers a lot. Here is my version of it, built not long after release. I added the Cragars, American Satco blackwalls, the aerials and made some engine mods. Mind you, if AMT did reissue the 61 kit with the custom pieces, I would definitely be in line to get one. -

The biggest issue with the Lindberg was a somewhat shallow interior. But not really noticeable on the hardtop with a little work. -

I have that decal in my stash, I didn't think it was a true Houndstooth. I will go check it out this PM -
Empty kit boxes?
Exotics_Builder replied to 68shortfleet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Into the recycle bin as well. My old kit boxes are not pristine, so they get the same treatment. I, personally, can't get into air boxes -
Second of the season. Last week's was hampered by rain that hit just as they would be setting up. Some duplicates from Thursday Barrington Cruise In since they are about 12 miles apart and draw from a similar set of owners. I took photos again of a few dups since sun angle was slightly better. https://www.flickr.com/gp/142581265@N08/41347b

Seal models and it took almost two months. Have not found a USA source. Tamiya America or Tower Hobbies never seem to have yet in stock.

Yes it is. Too large for some applications, but useful for firewalls at least.

Hoodstooth Pattern Decal
Exotics_Builder replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I make my own on clear decal paper. I just found a good Houndstooth pattern and replicated it to a large decal sheet. -
Ferrari 250 GTO - Fujimi or Revell Germany?
Exotics_Builder replied to Kmb0319's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes they did once, but for some reason, the last couple of "reissues" have been the Protar kit. -
