  1. That kit, around here at swap meets goes for $80-$100.
  2. I have a 1970 Eldo down in the unbuilt stash in the basement. Looking at the photo, it is hard to tell if anything is missing, except the obvious of a taillight (which might be in the box). The only clear plastic is the windshield/backlight and the only red plastic is the taillights. The "heat" warpage (or whatever caused it) would be a no-go for me as a good amount of body work would be needed to correct. My Eldo is molded in orange.
  3. Aventador, Bentley's, newer Ferraris - 458, F12. Maybe some Bimmers, although Herpa sells some
  4. You are not soaking in lacquer thinner are you? You should be able to shoot through the gun though. I have Iwata air brushes and use their Medea cleaner for actual cleaning.
  5. May I ask where you got them? I am looking for some exotics to populate an HO layout I have in mind. Thanks
  6. Here's what the Revell 55 Pace Car looks like with the Fred Cady decals. The 55 Pace Car are pretty thick, and the Cady much thinner.
  7. Just checked again, Crazy Modeler and A+ Club did some dry metallic transfers for Lambo logos, but nothing there had a Superleggera
  8. I don't have any Lambo Gallardo's, so can't check there. But I seem to recollect Hobby Design did something for the Superleggera. I don't know what it includes and whether it is even easily available if it fits your need.
  9. These are some photos from my unbuilt original in the basement stash:
  10. As Bob said. I will even use Home Store Lacquer thinner to add to Testors enamels for airbrushing. It helps speed up the dry time as well.
  11. As stated, I do the same. I do let it gas out for about 15 minutes. I use the trimmed soda straw taped to the cap approach. Since the Tamiya nozzle juts out from the cap a bit, it is easy to align the straw. Always use a respirator when decanting. Not Bob but X20A is not for lacquer. Don't recommend it. I use isopropyl alcohol to thin Tamiya Acrylics. I use their Lacquer thinner for TS paints decanted.
  12. What surprised me is this photo from the 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair. If you look to the lower right, they are displaying a Mod Rod Model A kit. I have an original down in the basement. In that original are included the parts for the original ALA KART. If this is repopped, will those parts be in there as well?
  13. It was an error on Revell's part, I found them on their normal site. Anyway, I did see a test shot today but was not allowed to take any photos. Although not a fan of that generation of cars, regardless of manufacturer, the test shot looked pretty decent. Hoping to get approval to get some shots soon. I will try.
  14. Only thing I have heard is that it is the entry level version and many were hoping for the P1. But any new exotic is a good thing.
  15. I will likely do the same with my I8 as well (says the guy who has only ONE curbside in his built ups). The only other curbside I did got turned into this
  16. I used the count off their website as I didn't want to pull it out of the stash. I think you are right on your analysis though. Other than I have picked up a couple of CHEAP exotics at swap meets to get parts, most people would not acquire for a parts kit. I hope so too. Not only are their wheels smallish, they often choose the lamest variant. Add me to that list as well. I have some detail photos to correct it, but shouldn't have to given the overall detail in the kit. Zero or Gravity would be my first bet. Scale Finishes also will likely step up. Release dates appear to be late in the year, so there is time.
  17. The SLS AMG has 141 parts. Ferrari SA Aperta 128. Audi R8 106; C7 easy build (pre-painted) 56; Easy build 2013 ZL1 has 48. So, I am leaning towards more than an Easy Build but definitely not a Snap. I am trying to find out more.
  18. Neither did I! That came out of left field, but is MOST interesting!
  19. If like the LaFerrari, PE and CF decals will be separate order.
  20. Final WIP update. I have the engine compartment and interior about 95% complete. I may yet need to do a couple of tweaks and details. For the wheels, I am using a set of American Satco wide whitewalls from the stash along with MCG spun hubcaps. To add detail, I drilled into each hubcap and added a wire for valve stem. The Satco tire is wide enough that I can use the wheels from the kit as a starter and slide these over. I have the body stripped and reprimed. Now I will reapply the paint job and, hopefully, not experience the same darker hue with the pink.
  21. Murphy's law has been fighting me on this. If you remember, I had to strip the body as I damaged the final finish (in a most conspicuous spot). On top of that, I spilt the remaining paint I had and needed to get more from Scale Finishes. I also needed to get a replacement decal sheet, since the badging is a bit "soft" and the usual BMF first and sand after every color coat was not working. I've married the front sub-frame to the chassis/interior. This is a little finicky, as I wound up with a slight warp at the front passenger wheel. I tried tweaking a couple of times, but no luck. Initial mating to body is inconclusive as to whether that will fix it. Will need to wait and see. I also needed to shave a bit of the inner fender wells as I was not happy with the fit, This area is not visible after assembly. Be sure to follow the instructions advice on aligning the firewall, inner fenders and front brace. It is critical. For the wheels, I chose not to use the kit provided tire and wheel set. I opted for a set of American Satco redlines and Magnum 500 wheels from the stash. This meant I needed to do a different wheel mounting approach. Solved through wheel backs from the stash, some Evergreen rod and some reaming to fit the mounting pins. Now to foil, apply the decals, clear and finish this kit off.
  22. The Revell 2010 Camaro pretty well fits under the AMT 2011 Convertible and 2013 ZL1. Which means you do more detail there if you want. In other cases, not much fit in some areas.
  23. Just got a response from him yesterday within a couple of hours on the AccuAir and if there will be a reissue. It is a great setup and I am looking to get at least one more for the Meng Ford F350. His stuff is great and I understand an expansion is underway. Ping him again.
  24. Yep, and a very NICE kit.
