Sorry, this is the only picture I have at the moment of the side. But this will give you an idea: -
looking for mechanical fuel pumps
Exotics_Builder replied to LVZ2881's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Are you asking about mechanical fuel pumps that attach to the block (like Chevy Big and Small Block engines) or in-line pumps mounted on the chassis? -
Revell (Germany) Ferrari 250SWB! New for October
Exotics_Builder replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have a couple of Detail Master and a KA set down in the wheel stash, so I think I am good. One of the reasons to buy and store, but eventually you use them up and then hope. -
Revell (Germany) Ferrari 250SWB! New for October
Exotics_Builder replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Revell has supposedly standardized the skill levels on both sides of the "Pond". Some older USA kits still use the tier model. The USA web site, however, still denotes the 3 tier. -

I pretty much go for aftermarket wheels and tires where I can. But you are right. Protar is the biggest violator I've had experience with. -

Check flea markets or swap meets, you never know. Especially flea markets. If you are wanting to build stock, an older kit with custom parts missing may be the ticket. Otherwise, think newer version and Modelhaus front grill/headlamp assembly is a good, cost effective alternative. -

This is a good option for a stocker. The Modelhaus front end is very good and a variety of chasses can fit under the AMT body with a little work. My preference is the Revell Chevelle (Z-16) chassis or the 66 GTO, There are other options, like the PL 64 mentioned. -

That is about what I've been seeing (150-170) for a clean, everything there unbuilt. I've seen a couple at swap meets for a little less (100-125), but content was iffy, missing parts or started. -
Scale Finishes??

With you there. He mixed up the Tomcyzk Audi colors so I could do the DTM version of his car. When I queried about thinner gassing out of some paints, he sent me a free thinner bottle, even though I said I would buy it. I like the latest bottles that have a more positive capping. -

A couple of years back before IHOBBY I queried Revell on doing new tools on such cars as the 65 GTO, 68 Camaro, etc. Basically, the comment was AMT had pretty much cornered that market and not much benefit was perceived for them to do a new tool. I hope they'll change their minds, as it seems AMT doing an upgrade is likely a long way off, if ever. -
1957 Ford Sedan Delivery - Update 01-25-2016
Exotics_Builder replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
First test fit of Flintstone body. I cleaned up the body, including a little bit of the interior area at the back. Having already scratch built the delivery back floor, I taped the sides and dash together for the test. The fit looks pretty good. As you can see, it appears a Revell 57 Del Rio was used in the master since the front chassis slots into the body. I’ll clean up the outside of the body and get a primer coat to do a semi-final test fit. I’ll also try the kit windows. -

If Revell is doing a gasser as the next version (sounded very likely), you may want to hold on for a bit. -

Ed, what is your website? Was it the old Drag City Casting? I couldn't find any reference to these interiors. -

Mine (still unbuilt) says 65 GTO and has the custom part on the side of the box and the convertible on top. -
Scale Finishes??

My reshipment of the order arrived yesterday as we were heading out to an event. In his email, Jameston said several shipments just before Thanksgiving never arrived. So much for the USPS thoroughness, I guess. Hopefully he can recoup the costs of the original shipments. -
Moebius 65 Plymouth Satellite - Update 01/25/2016
Exotics_Builder replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
My replacement paint arrived yesterday. Scale Finishes had to resend it as the original shipment got lost. Of course, if I hadn't accidentally spilled the original paint bottle contents (about half the bottle) I wouldn't have had to reorder. -

Did a quick test fit and looks pretty good. Cleaning up the body and retesting the fit in the next day or two. -

Looks like the Revell AG repackaged Protar kit. -
Continuing 2015 as the year of out of the normal kit building, I am culminating with a 57 Ford Sedan Delivery using a Jimmy Flintstone body and the Revell 57 Del Rio kit. This will be a mild custom. Here are some hints of the direction I am heading:

Moebius 65 Plymouth Satellite - Update 01/25/2016
Exotics_Builder replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
While waiting for my paint from Scale Finishes, I stripped, cleaned up and re-primed the body and hood, plus also finished the interior platform assembly (although I just noticed that need to paint the turn signal stalk silver). Once the paint arrives (already a month since I ordered it) I can this back on track to finish. One thing I noticed on the interior is that there is a spot on the center console for a gauge but none included on the decal sheet. Photos of the actual car show it to likely be a Tach, so I took a decal from the stash and applied it. It may not be 100% accurate, but it is buried low. The interior does have a lot of very nice engraving, and, yes Moebius provides it, door lock knobs. -
Scale Finishes??
Exotics_Builder replied to Les Mosher's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I too have the same problem. Jameston said he is resending the shipment. He said, in his email, that several orders did not arrive. He did indicate he is working two jobs and has minimum time to fulfill orders. Sad to say, that I started a PayPal dispute but haven't yet pulled the trigger. This is a real bummer as there has never been anything like this with Scale Finishes before.
