  1. I also seem to recollect my parents' 65 Impala SS 327 300HP was red orange (but it had a Powerglide ) Their other Chevy was a 62 Chevy II with the 4 banger. I don't remember the engine color on that.
  2. For sure my 68 Z/28 came with the red orange block. I think the same for 1967. No reliable info on earlier
  3. Randy, this is really looking good. I still haven't decided on my color choice. Studio 27, BTW, is producing two decal sets for other color combinations. Even though I already have the kit, I likely won't build it until after the move back west. I'll be watching your progress on this!!
  4. I'll need to check this out. Thanks

  6. Interesting. I have a 63 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible unbuilt in the stash and it does have separate lower front suspension A-frames. As does the 64 Bonneville Hardtop and convertible (which I don't have). By the 1965 models, they are back to the molded in chassis parts. 1961 and 1962 Pontiacs had the molded in as well. Also interesting is the 65 Impala had molded in front but separate rear and partial molded in exhaust
  7. To be clear, the kit I built (Lindberg) had the inline dual quads and I replaced them with the AMT 62 Impala Short Ram option. The Cragar wheels were from the 66 Nova kit and I used American Satco blackwalls. It would be interesting to see what Round2 has included in this kit that differs from the original Lindberg.
  8. Waiting, myself, for the Z/28
  9. Yes, it showed up in several issues. Also, the AMT 76 Caprice has a single axle trailer.
  10. Could be. I don't have an original. The little bit of shallowness was brought up by others. But tub interiors can be interesting at times.
  11. Depends on what you are looking for in a kit. If you are looking for the custom pieces and willing to look past the era "shortcuts" in detail, then the original is definitely in play. If you intend to build a reasonable stock facsimile of the bubble top, the 1990's vintage Lindberg kit offers a lot. Here is my version of it, built not long after release. I added the Cragars, American Satco blackwalls, the aerials and made some engine mods. Mind you, if AMT did reissue the 61 kit with the custom pieces, I would definitely be in line to get one.
  12. The biggest issue with the Lindberg was a somewhat shallow interior. But not really noticeable on the hardtop with a little work.
  13. Select the English option (British Flag) on the page http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?language=en&info=p2212_20-21--bbs-wheel-set-p918-spyder--revell-.html
  14. Okay, Dean was first. but a Houndstooth pattern is this: And I don't think the 1970 SMS pattern is correct for that.
  15. I have that decal in my stash, I didn't think it was a true Houndstooth. I will go check it out this PM
  16. Into the recycle bin as well. My old kit boxes are not pristine, so they get the same treatment. I, personally, can't get into air boxes
  17. Second of the season. Last week's was hampered by rain that hit just as they would be setting up. Some duplicates from Thursday Barrington Cruise In since they are about 12 miles apart and draw from a similar set of owners. I took photos again of a few dups since sun angle was slightly better. https://www.flickr.com/gp/142581265@N08/41347b
  18. And a very good kit. Waiting to build after the move. Was even debating adapting to the Stacey David variation with a 454LSX engine with modern FI. To a lot, too steep a price.
  19. Seal models and it took almost two months. Have not found a USA source. Tamiya America or Tower Hobbies never seem to have yet in stock.
  20. Yes it is. Too large for some applications, but useful for firewalls at least.
  21. I make my own on clear decal paper. I just found a good Houndstooth pattern and replicated it to a large decal sheet.
