  1. Here you go guys ! Even though it's a diecast, I just HAD to build this. As the saying goes..."Beggars can't be choosy" This here, is the new 1/25th scale Diplomat by Motormax stripped, repainted and detailed to my standards. For my first build of this kit, I new I had to build a mid 80's cruiser from Prince Georges County, MD to go along with the rest of my PG collection. Anyway, right out of the box, this model needed some work to make it look as though it was not a toy. I first stripped the paint, block sanded the body and filled in all of the casting flaws. I also had to fill in the 2 holes in the roof with JB Weld, drilled a hole in the A-pillar for the spotlight handle and added a strip of plastic to the back of the hood to correct the way out of scale gap. Finally, I cut away the ledge that the windshield rested on. After all the body work, the body was primed then painted with Duplicolor white and clear coated. The decals were obtained from Pursuit Plastics years ago. I built the roof lights using a combination of parts from the Revell Cop Out Funny Car, Johan Fury Police Car and AMT Alf Pumper.
  2. Thanks for the nice comments guys. I've been in a building slump for a couple of months and this was the first project I actually worked on in awhile. Lowering this baby was pretty easy. I ditched the metal pins and axle and just glued the brake rotors to the spindles after temp. gluing blocks to the frame to get the ride height I was looking for.. I also had to trim the tie rod ends a bit and I also had to cut some material away from the inside top portion of the tires to clear the shocks and inner fender well.
  3. Now that I'm out of my slump, here is what else I've been working on. I completely disassembled, stripped and repainted this DIECAST 1/25th scale Motormax Crown Vic. I used Duplicolor rattle cans for the paint job and the decals are from Code-7. The chrome hubcaps, which I swiped off of an earlier model Motormax CV, replaced the stock steel wheels. I also had to fill in the fog light recesses in the front bumper, fill in the holes in the windshield where the spotlights were mounted and drilled the A-pillars for spotlight handles. Also, the rear windows were tinted by painting the inside of the glass flat black. The spotlights were robbed from a Lindberg CV. Needless to say, I'm now going to be replacing my Classic Metal Works CV'S with these babies. These are SO MUCH NICER! I know......I still need to clean up the inside of the door jambs.
  4. I can't believe I did it! After being in a slump for awhile, I finally sat down and built this in a week. I almost accomplished building it box stock....but you know how that goes. Anyway, on with the unveiling. This is the Revell Challenger kit built pretty much box stock except for the addition of the shaker scoop and a slight lowering job. For paint, I used Testors wonderful Nassau Blue Metallic topped with their Ultra Gloss Clearcoat. I left the rockers body color to give it that more in the weeds stance along with the lowering.
  5. Nice set of Stangs in your stable.
  6. After an entire year of scratchbuilding, Squad 18 is now in service. This model was entirely scratchbuilt with Evergreen and Pastruct styrene sheets and structural stock. The only kit sourced parts used were the wheels and tires. Everything else, hand made. I used the factory line drawings from Pierce as a guide along with numerous reference photos. The interior is completely detailed right down to the individual headsets. Here is the link to the build: http://public.fotki.com/zh/model_construct...-dale-md-pierc/ And here is the link to the rest of the finished model pictures. http://public.fotki.com/zh/fire-truck-mode...-dale-md-pierc/
  7. Beautiful work. This one's going into my favorite builds of '09 folder.
  8. From one Hungarian to another, fantastic job. Zoli
  9. Stunning build!!! I'm now going to go back and play with my legos
  10. The back end looks sort of like a Toyota Solara to me. I guess I'll have to see it person to see how it really looks.
  11. The wheels were a very easy swap. For the rears, I cut an aluminum sleave to fit inside the wheel, which allowed them to slide right onto the mustangs axle. The front ones were a little more involved. First I cut the nubs off of the brakes. I then slid the brakes onto the wheels then ground down the wheels mounting nubs flush with the brakes. After cutting off the mounting pins from the spindels, I glued the wheels to the spindels.
  12. I had already painted the body, when my modelers ADD kicked in , and before I knew it, I had cut the roof off.
  13. I built this GT500 Convertible after painting the hardtop body. Very little repainting was repainting was required after the conversion. I used numerous pics as a guide for the detailing of the engine and interior. I molded the rear roof stack using a 2 part epoxy putty. The texture was created with Testors fabric paint. The body is painted with Testors Grabber orange and the main body stripes are painted on with Tamiya semi-gloss back. The side stripes are computer generated and were printed with a laser printer. The entire body was then cleared with Testors Ultra Gloss clear. I also had to lower the suspension quite a bit since these Mustangs built right from the box sit way too high. These wheels and tires and brakes are from the AMT Concept Camaro. I ground off the Chevy emblem and made a new center cap, added wheel weights and valve stems. A few wires and extra hoses brings the engine to life The style bar was sourced from an older Monogram Saleen Mustang And here's a group shop of some other modded mustangs from the shop Messages In This Thread
  14. Those graphics look awesome! I would'nt change a thing.
  15. It sure looks like the molded restraint seat. I've been waiting forever for this full detail kit! Plus with 6 new lightbars!!!!YEAH!
  16. Very very nice. Those rims are perfect and the stance is right on!
  17. Here you have it! The Limited edition 2009 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with the ultra rare T-top option. This baby comes in one color and one color only; Speedyellow with black accents. The Mach 1 also features a ram air shaker scoop, flat black chin spoiler, free flowing performance exhaust, lowered suspension, chrome 5 spoke wheels, unique Mach 1 graphics and finally the ultra rare removable glass roof panels.
  18. Oh Yeah!!!! Turned out great. Killer paint and stance.
  19. That turned out AWESOME!!! I love the paint job, lack of b-pillars and your display is spectacular.
  20. YOWZA! Thats looking great!!
  21. Got the interior finished. Pretty much built straight from the box with the exception of the flocking and the addition of the seatbelts and buckles. Since the roof will be open, I just had to add a little extra detail. I decided to try something different with the taillights, so I painted the recessed portions on the lenses semi-gloss black.
  22. I got the rolling stock mounted and the engine somewhat done. Today I went ahead and applied some semi-gloss to the hood, which by the way I will be redoing since I'm not real pleased with the way it turned out. The trunk lid will also be semi-gloss black as well. I also might make use of a set of Keith Marks's Mustang Twister decals for the side.
  23. I'm on a roll with this Mustang! Check out these clear removable roof panels I just made. I made these by vacume forming the section of roof that was removed for the T-top conversion. After some filing and fitting they fit pretty good. The black frame is painted on the underside of the glass. Here you can see the clear plastic before I removed from the roof panel This is what it looked like before I cut out the panels. Here is the panel in rough form prior to final fitting. The finished panels with the painted frame And here they are installed
  24. I decided on bright yellow. I just happened to have a can of 2003 Mazda Speedyellow in the garage, so thats what I used . Interior will be black as well as some black stripes on the hood and the rear spoiler will be black as well.
  25. I got some more work done on the Mus-T-Ang. The T-roof has been finesed and the weatherstrip added. I also cut open the hood for the scoop, added the trim around the hood openning and sprayed a fresh coat of primer on the body. For the color coat, I'm leaning more and more towards yellow. I still have a little cleanup work to do here. I'm not sure as to what I'm going to do with the trim at the b-pillar. Should I continue it over the roof, fill it in or just leave it as is?
