  1. Made some progress on the Squareback. Once I had the paint stripped, I tightened up the door and hood gaps with styrene strips and superglue. After priming and blocking, the low spots were filled and reprimed. I then decided to grind off the out of scale welting between the panels and scribe in new panel lines. I also went ahead and enlarged the front door window openings so that they were more in scale. I then shot some more etching primer and then some grey primer. The final color coat is a Duplicolor metalic blue with clear. Last night I started applying the graphics to the body.
  2. Another masterpiece ! Great job and I love that raised wiper detail.
  3. Maisto has the fastback listed also but no release date. I'm sure it's not far behind. I'm keeping my eyes out for that one. The squareback comes in 4 different colors. Two of them being two tone. Once I got the powder coated finish off the engraving on the body really popped out! I'm going to be painting this one a light metalic blue.
  4. Irv, those are so cool ! I would'nt mind building one myself except I have no idea where I would race it. And, I'm quite sure my wife would freak if I set up a track from one end of the house to the other. Zoli
  5. The squareback is back from the media blaster ! Here it is in bare metal.
  6. This is a Miasto diecast that I just had to buy. I have already taken it apart last night, and the paint will be stripped today. I have a few changes in mind along with a new color and interior detail.
  7. This build was a little out of the norm for me. A little change of pace I guess. I built this straight out of the box with no mods. It took me several days to apply all of the decals using plenty of decal set and a hair dryer to get the decals to conform to the body. All in all in was a fun kit to build.
  8. After being away from the bench for a while, I finally got one finished. Revell's '69 daytona with the pro-touring treatment. Mini tubbed, slammed and painted testors plum crazy. Wheels are the Pegasus big and little Hellas. I narrowed the front rims and used some tires from the parts box in order to get them to fit under the fenders. Also, I vented the hood and added photo etched hood pins.
  9. Hey Lyle, Maybe next year instead of handing out NNL license plates and frames at the door, the club can hand out little tiny christmas tree air fresheners that you will then have to hang from your models mirror.
  10. Here is my daily driver, 2003 Speedyellow Mazda 6s And here is my toy, 1991 Miata
  11. Thanks for the compliments. Hopefully I can keep my attention on this one and complete it. Lyle, I checked out NIcks new ride the day after he got it. Nice ride, not exactly what I would have pictured him in though. I however offere my asistance in de-chickifying his car. As for the motor, the revell kit has a complete drivetrain unlike the Tamiya kit which is a curb side. I'm using the Pegasus wheels since they are the closest thing I could find that resembles my wheels. Here is a pic of my 1:1 Miata;
  12. I finally was able to aquire a Revell Miata kit to build a replica of my 1:1 car. First order of business was to cut open the headlight doors, doors and trunk and to fabricate the hinges. I have added the underhood bracing as well as the trunk bracing. The glove box and gas filler will be hinged as well. The wheels and tires are narrowed Pegasus pieces. If you squint it wont be as blurry
  13. Me too ! Me too ! Put me down for a few
  14. Anyone planning on casting some wider rear tires to Fit the Revell choppers?
  15. Decals are from Chimneyville and the strobes are scratchbuilt.
  16. ###### that is cool looking. Can't wait to see it finished. I always loved the black and gold TA's. Great work !
  17. I just could'nt wait for Testors police car version to be released.....so I dipped into my parts box and came up with this. I still have a few more small details to add and then I'll call it done.
  18. Thanks for the compliment Greg :mrgreen: . These bike kits are so awesome and fun to build. I've got a few more in the works, so stay tuned.....
  19. Lyle and Marcos, I've been trying to make a meeting for the last year but something always comes up. I'll be there for the Feb. meeting. I just marked it on the "Honey Calander" so nothing should come up now.
  20. Once again I started off with the Crusader chopper and after lots of cutting and fabrication, I came up with this. Paint is Testors Plum Crazy and the graphics are from 2 crusader kits that I spliced together. The seat is real leather that I dyed with a sharpie. Other cool features are the rear fender "fangs" and the air intake scoop.
