  1. I worked second shift for over nine years and actually my wife and I both liked it. I have been asked by the Company to go back on second shift and I agreed. 3:30 to Midnight. Home by 12:20 A.M. Go to bed at four. I like this, more time to work on models.
  2. Sure does look good.
  3. Being a person that is partial to the color blue and also partial to the older cars I really like this one. All of them look real good.
  4. We made it through unscathed. The water has receded and somewhat dry ground is visible. That means I have to go to work tomorrow.

    Ford 49

I have one I really should do over as the paint job did not turn out the color I thought it would. Or I could just put John Deere Tractor Sales decals on it.
  6. I bought this kits several weeks ago but just opened it and took a look. I am impressed and will get a few lore of these. Perhaps I'm not a Model expert but I like this a lot. Boy I can't wait to clear the bench and start on this one.
  7. West 130th St. That's actually Big Creek across the street, or at least that's where it usually is.
  8. It's a combination of melting snow and a two inch rain storm overnight.
  9. here are three better pictures taken from my front door.
  10. Normally I only get to work on anything model related on Saturday and Sunday. When I get home from work I am usually to tired to do anything at all. But to-day is a freebie, thanks to Mother nature. These pictures were taken at 4:45 A.M. this morning. Anyone got a John-Boat?
  11. Actually that's a darn good question and one I'm not sure how to answer. Check out the web site I listed, that's a blog.
  12. Added some updates listing tools that I use. Someone just starting out may need this. http://prg5609.blogspot.com
  13. Actually I have heard it many times in my life. Using the same brands of primer and paint. I really think the problem was simply a lousy sanding job after I stripped it the first time. This time I actually looked at the problems areas through a magnifier and when I did I was able to spot what appears to be excessive paint build up. I really need to wear my glasses when I'm doing this stuff, I have to for everything else. Yeah I know, insanity. I plead old age.

    50 ford truck

That is one clean looking 50 Ford truck. Great job, really like that Paint job.
  15. My work area is in my Computer room which measures about eight feet by ten feet. I have three book cases, two computer desks, a four drawer file cabinet and my paint booth all in that room. Can anyone say cramped. But that's OK. Not a lot of room for a stash which is a good thing as I couldn't afford one anyway. Congratulations on a really nice Man cave.
  16. After looking at the model through a magnifying glass the problem may come from the sanding job not being as good as I thought it was. Darn I never realized I was that blind. But anyway, I will let this dry, re-sand it. Yes I will inspect the sanding job through a magnifier this time and paint her again. Of course I could just call it a backyard paint job.
  17. Now I will admit that I seem to have some real B/S problems sometimes with painting my models. A break down of trying to paint a 1963 Ford Galaxie. Primed it, sanded it washed it down and dryed it off. It then set for three days. Painted it black. Horrible paint job, blisters and such. Stripped it down and re-primed it. re-sanded and washed it. Tried it again, same results. Stripped it down again and re primed and sanded it. Tried painting it red, same results again. Long story short, I have went through this process five times now and I just painted it a creme color. Guess what, same result. GRR
  18. Fantastic build of a car that has never been matched for styling and popularity.
  19. Several months ago I bought a Passche Spray Booth and it has been my best investment to date. No Paint fumes, no overspray coming out into the room. Don't know how I got along without it before.
  20. This should be an interesting build. The Cord was definitely ahead of it's time.
  21. All I can say is WOW!!!
  22. Very well executed build, I like it.
  23. If memory serves me right, it doesn't always, I built a 65 Chevelle back when it was an AMT kit. Good Lord, what a mess that was.
  24. Well, I got her done this morning. My first attempt at using Bare metal Foil. I know I goofed on the side trim but I just could not get the foil to cut correctly if I placed the foil in the exact right spot. I'll get another model like this sometime and build it the same paint job and everything. Sort of a before and after. Before I knew what I was doing and after I thought I knew what I was doing. Any and all comments are welcome. PS: I really need to do something to allow me to take better pictures. Thanks for looking.
  25. That paint job and foil job are simply fantastic. how in the --- did you get that paint job looking that good?
