  1. Good grief you have two, great builds, done and I haven't even been at my bench yet this year
  2. Reading through these postings I realize how out dated I am. Those foreign cars hold no allure for me. The newer cars, 1970 and above are of no interest at all. My all time favorite model is the 1940 Ford Coupe from AMT. The one I was able to purchase for $1.03 in 1961.
  3. My cat, Dagwood, wants to know what your point is.
  4. I do most all of my time model building on Saturday's and Sunday's. I get up around 6 A.M. fix coffee and head for the Hobby Room Turn on the computer, open three windows. 1- Model cars Forum 2. Facebook 3. Multiply. I then spend my time going from one to the other. So far this year, nothing done.
  5. I can definitely understand where you are coming from on this subject. I just got back into modeling and as of this year, so far have worked on exactly, nothing. Got something sitting on my bench but I can't even remember what it is, what colors I was going to use or anything. It does get frustrating sometimes.
  6. If those pictures had been taken with an outside setting the caption could have been;\ Is it real or is it memorex. Fantastic.
  7. I have never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the box and I'm sure not now, but I just don't understand having that many models on hand to build. No offense is meant I just don't understand it.
  8. it represents pestilence.
  9. Friday evening someone broke into our house and stole a camera, television and 6 unbuilt models and a few tools. While I realize that isn't all that much it does make me wonder. Paula's jewelry isn't gone. Money laying in a desk drawer is still there. Plus the house is not ransacked, the items are missing that's all. Naturally everything can be replaced but I am more ticked off about the models that they stole.
  10. I looked at all the pictures and you guys are way out of my league. really great looking builds.
  11. After viewing this build I think, perhaps, I should just give up on Modeling and try paint by numbers instead. Incredible.
  12. Wow, that is looking real good, but then I would be surprised if it didn't.
  13. I have the same kit I think. I would love to know how you got that interior looking that good.
  14. It sure looks good to me.

    1956 Nomad

Someone told me that the person that builds the model always sees mistakes and areas that could be better. Obviously they were correct as this 56 Nomad looks perfect to me. great paint job, engine detailing, the interior looks good..
  16. I usually skip around between different web-sites that I have bookmarked. Four times this morning, I received a forbidden message when I tried getting on Model Cars Magazine Forum. Just saying something in case others are having same problem This is the only site I have this problem with. ????
  17. There are not enough superlative words in the English language to properly describe this build. WOW!
  18. 2010 was a bad year for many of us, but here we are on the eve of a New Year. I started back into modeling in 2010 and learned many things from the kind people on this forum. 2011 is the year when I will, hopefully, continue to improve. I might even try BMF this year. I wanted to express my thanks to all of you, you have each inspired me in many ways, taught me many things and set me on a path of improvement in modeling. Happy New Year to all. May it hold the keys to all your dreams.
  19. I took a 1 inch thick piece of Styrofoam and cut holes to match the shapes of the bottles. When I open a bottle of paint, blue or whatever into the holder it goes until I'm done. Cheap, easy answer to spilled paints and glues. I took a 1 inch thick piece of Styrofoam and cut holes to match the shapes of the bottles. 20. I am going to have to redo the interior as it just doesn't look right. All the cars I ever saw that were Marina Blue body had a black interior.
  21. And some day you will get old like me and that build would take three or four months.
  22. I started working on this one about a week ago. Got the engine done, might wire it if I get the dist. this week. Painted the body Marina Blue. The interior is Marina Blue and Dark blue. Comments are welcome. Comments pro or con are welcome. Thank you for looking.
  23. Well, I hope ya got me down and accept this 1966 Chevrolet SS 396 as a Muscle car. Got the body painted and interior bucket almost done. Side note; The interior is dark blue with marina Blue trim. looks kinda silver under this light for some reason.
  24. The concept of buying a case of models is well beyond my wallet I assure you. While I may build more than just one of a particular model, 1940 Ford, 1961 and 62 Chevrolet's, I buy them one at a time.
