  1. I tried this model many many years ago and was never able to get it the way I wanted. Perhaps this time around will be different. Not quite as good as yours, I'm sure, just different.
  2. An excellant build of my favorite all time model.
  3. My first model was an AMT 1940 Ford. Three of us guys in the neighborhood walked out to Ontario's and bought one each and then the paints we needed. I want to say 1961 or 1962. By the way the model was $1.03 and the small jars of paint were .10 each.
  4. That is unbelieveable. It looks so much like the real car I almost doubt it's a model. But then I have heard some very good things about your skills. Obviously they were right.
  5. I don't really know if this will work. I'm trying to post pictures of my workbench.
  6. While I am inpressed by the detail in the newer kits I still love those old late fifties and early sixties kits. If Cleveland wasn't so far from Columbus I would be interested in joining your modeling club but 2 hours driving time one way is a little much.
  7. Aw, come on man that's a real car with the background deleted. great build.
  8. Please keep us updated on this build. The 1940 Ford is my favorite model.
  9. Ok, now the question is could you please post something that is screwed up so us mortals feel better. great art work.
  10. A very good friend of mine had one of those when I was in High School. It did not have Lake Pipes or the girl under the hood. Though there were several in the car.
  11. Do you guys ever make any mistakes on your builds?? Looking great.

I must be honest. When I look at the models listed under glass I am always looking for a mistake or an opps. When I look at mine they are always evident to me and yet I see NONE on this build. Great job, great looking model.
  13. Now I know and understand that I am getting old but apparently I'm also getting slow. As I watched your build of the Chevelle model I was amazed at your knowledge of cars, placement of different items and so forth. While I knew you were building a 1 to 1 Chevelle I thought you meant, as most of my friends do, that you had someone doing it for you. Now I find out that you are building this also, yourself. Interesting man, I must say.
  14. I have noticed something that has gotten me to wondering. I see where some people are listed as MCM Ohanna while others are listed as MCM friend, Avid Poster and Regular. Not really important I guess I'm just curious.
  15. All I got was a haircut and a stupid headache. Waiting for stuff to be delivered.
  16. Bad thing about those x-acto blades they will cut whatever gets in the way. I have been fortunate to this point and have only glued my fingers together.
  17. I just recently got back into modeling and have been collecting all the different tools I will be needing. One of those was an Air Brush package. I figured I would build a paint booth using plywood, furnace filters and an exhaust fan. Admittedly I was thinking of using two bathroom type exhaust fans but after reading this post I will get an exhaust fan, (Dayton) from Grainger. It may be a little more expensive but a whole lot safer. Thank you for posting this article.
  18. I did not get the privelege of reading the post you are referring to, however I am sure it was heartfelt and accurate. Apology not necessary to those that consider you a friend. Besides, never apologize, it's a sign of weekness.

I like this one a lot. Nice clean build and a great paint job.
  20. I look at the posted pictures of the models being shown at Model Car Shows and wonder, are there any around Cleveland, Ohio area?
  21. Those models are great. If there is ever a convention like that around Cleveland, Ohio I have got to go. Thank you.
  22. All I can say is WOW, great looking car, I love it. Ok, that's three things I got carried away.
  23. Went over to Hobby Castle and picked up some flat for the interior of the 62 Catalina 421 SD I'm building. Also picked up a rattle can of Blue metallic for the body. Some flocking for the floor. And a Stone Woods and Cook Willys, and a Lindburg 1940 Ford Coupe, stock, custom or Police.
  24. I use toolpost like that everyday at work, not sure I would want to use them during hobby time. But that's what's great about this hobby to each his own.
