    Hot Rod Ford

It's lookin good. I built one several years ago, an enjoyable build.
  2. Don't laugh but I actually had one of those when I was 16. Mine was a hardtop though. Didn't look quite that good either. great job.
  3. My wife and I went there about five years ago. Great shops and good prices. But the food, oh ya the food.
  4. One of the saddest truth's that life has taught me is that time marches on, things change and you can't go back. Ok, that's three, so shoot me. But the truth is you can go back in Modeling by building that Hot Rod you couldn't afford. You can customize that first car. You can build that race car of your favorite driver. Doing these things allow you, if only momentarily to go back to a better, simpler, and safer time. At least that's what I get out of Modeling. Will it survive the ravages of time, I am afraid it won't.
  5. They are all really great but that 41 Plymouth is a killer, I love it.
  6. I'll take one 1940 Ford, an order of fries and a coke. great photo's.
  7. Build it next week????? It would take me at least a month.
  8. My first car was a green and white 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. 312 H.P. Thunderbird engine. great memories in that car.
  9. I tried painting a model black once, I think it was 1962 or 63, haven't tried that again. Nice job on this build, love that interior and you pulled off the black paint job.
  10. I thought you lived in Cleveland there for a minute, we have those all over the place up here. Good job.

    The Amber Queen

Well lets see here. I love the paint job. I like the engine area. I Love the interior. Actually I love this model, good job, very well done.
  12. I can see why it is great.
  13. Ok, I was working on a 1962 catalina and run into some kind of a problem but I can't remember now what it was. So I packed it up and started working on a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. I painted the upper control arms last week and now this week I can't find them. Wow, another kit half done to be packed away.

    37 Chevy

In all honesty I never could grasp the reason behind building something so that it looks old, misused and abused. But I must say you have done it very well.
  15. My remarks were and still are a reflection of my personal likes and dislikes when it comes to cars. As far as I am concerned there is NO competition for a 1957 Chevrolet. Even the 55 and 56 were in a league of thier own. We won't even mention the 53 Corvette or the 55 Thunderbird. It has never been about handling performance or actually for that matter horsepower. It is about styling in my opinion. Naturally there are some exceptions.
  16. How do you guys detail dashboards on your models. I have seen some that appears as if just the numbers on the speedometer have been painted. The knobs look three dimentional and realistic. The dash is in brake fluid stripping the paint for the third time as I can't seem to get what I want. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Group Photo

    Nice group of models.
  18. Got another 1940 Ford I had ordered and a twenty-five drawer small parts storage compartment.
  19. Has anyone attended one of these shows? Do they have model cars and accesories at this show. I don't want to attend if it's just things like barbie dolls, but then why would it be listed on this forum if they don't have models. Just asking, don't want to waste modeling time.
  20. I never could understand taking a new model and making it look like a piece of junk. But I must admit that you have done a very good job of it. Simply proves that one mans junk is another mans treasure. But to junk a 1940 Ford????
  21. Motovation to start modeling is something I am having a problem with myself. My favorite model of all time is the 1940 Ford done in any configuration you can. It's the only model I remember from my childhood though my memory has been jogged a little since I joined this great forum.
  22. Fantastic build. Love the paint job, mine never look that good. The cotton ball burnout is really cool, haven't seen that since the early sixties.
  23. My first car was lowered in the front and raised in the back and that was 1965.
  24. Workbench, here I come.
