  1. I just got back into modeling 4 or 5 months ago. I am approaching retirement age and wanted something to occupy my time. Remembering the fun I had as a child building models I thought, "why not." I must admit that either my memory is worse than I thought or the Hobby has changed over the last forty years. The things I have bought in order to make models were not on my workbench as a child. I believe I have everything I will need to get me through the coming winter though. Of course I will buy a model now and then. I have fifteen models to build and two in progress. Happy Modeling everyone.
  2. Now that looks like a truck I would have built up back in the sixties. I still have the JC Whitney cat. somewhere around here.
  3. Ventalation is a must, especially in the winter months. I use the small, self contained compressor for harbor frieght. Check out Paasche Paint Booth listed under general for the Paint Booth I have.

    Revell '49 Merc

I have tried to build this model several times and never had one come out that good. I like it, looks real good. Perhaps I should try this one again.
  5. I got it Paasche paint Booth. ( I figured out what I was doing wrong trying to post these.
  6. Well as you can now see I got the Paasche Paint Booth I ordered last Saturday. It is small yet I believve it will serve my purposes very well. I need to get a dryer exhaust hose,( tomorrow ) and try it out. Everything folds up to the sixe of the metal box on rear of paint booth. The electric cord retracts into the case.
  7. I got my Paasche Paint Booth to-day. It is small and compact, sets up easily and is extrememly portable. It will suit my needs very well. I have tried everything to upload these pictures. It is about 6.5 inches deep and 16.5 inches wide when closed up. The front opens to about 16.5 wide and 14.5 high. Comes with exhaust flange, hook a dryer hose to it. Also comes with a small turntable, though I will use the one like most of us have.
  8. I need to purchase some 6 and 8 cylinder prewired distributors and lost the page I had saved. Where can I get them??
  9. Sounds to me like that other web-site did you a favor. Welcome to MCM forum. I joined several months ago and am very glad I did. Great bunch of guys willing to help modelers if needed.
  10. It's lookin good from what I can see.
  11. One of my all time favorites. But then it seems anything prior to 1960 falls into the category. Really nice build.
  12. Another one of my favorite models. Seems I like the old ones best. Really good job on this one, I like it.
  13. Wow!!!! That is one sharp looking car. Great job, love the stance, the paint, the engine, oh heck I love it all.
  14. But a Good Goys 40 Ford Coupe would be such a great build, especially in your hands.
  15. There were two models that I just simply can not, or could not, build as a 12 or 13 year old. The old, early sixties, 1957 Chevy and the 1937 Cord. They just simply never looked right.
  16. Just out of curiousity I tried your method for painting small parts. While it may work for you, and that's fine, I think I'll stick with painting them on the sprue and then touching them up.

Your build proves one thing, it is possible to build a really nice model without all those after market parts. Good job.
  18. I use a very small tubing cutter and very little pressure as I'm cutting.
  19. The Prayers of Anchor Point Ministries Inc. is with you, your daughter and family. May God Bless.
  20. Now there's what I need. between that and the Comp. I would never get any modeling done.
  21. Model Master Artic Blue Metallic.
  22. I will most certainly post a preview and pivtures.
  23. I love those old Fords and thats a beauty.
  24. I actually have three projects going right now. Thanks to the kindness of a member I have the upper control arms for my 62 catalina SD. I also managed to get the frame strightened on my 1951 Chevy, though I don't care for the stance. I'm also working on the 55 Cameo. Happy Modeling.
