  1. The problem is that the changes come year after year after year. It takes a long time for a manufacturer to develop an accurate kit of a subject that does not constantly change, and even then, there will usually be problems with accuracy of some type. By the time a kit would be introduced, the real car could quite possibly be out of date. The market for what would be an out-of-date competition car, more specfifically an out-of-date Sprint Cup car, might not be big enough to warrant the development time involved. Maybe a nostalgic or historical car would sell, but something possibly three to five years old? I don't think so.
  2. The Revell 2009 Challenger kit is 1/25 scale and has a nice Hemi.
  3. It would be the same for kits of current Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock cars. They all look the same and haven't gone the full quarter-mile for several years. The excitement wears thin after a while. But, that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy any of them at all.
  4. "Whsitling Death"- many Japanese pilots.
  5. "I know there's been all kinda shoes underneath your bed Now I sleep with my boots on, but you're still in my head..."
  6. In '74, I saw Spooky Tooth, followed by ZZ Top, followed by the Edgar Winter Group (with Rick Derringer). Don't remember the first; ZZ Top was three guys, two with beards, that were a bit monotonous and Edgar and his band put on a good show ("Frankenstein" and "Free Ride"). Cobo Hall in beautiful Detroit, MI.
  7. "Fricka frakka firecracker sis boom bah Here comes trouble in a push-up bra..." (when "we" were kids: "Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny, rah rah rah!")
  8. When you combine that with a Clapton tune, you find out what "it's all about" "after midnight" Hello Hooray, I think- from Billion Dollar Babies. He opened the show with in in June '73.
  9. That was a problem with Corsairs and carriers when they were first introduced. Pilots soon figured out a way to make an approach so that they could actually see the deck and LSO, then the aircraft was OKd for carrier operations. If I remember correctly, it had the largest-diameter prop on a single-engined fighter in WWII.
  10. "We're calling everyone to ride along To another shore Where we can laugh our lives away And be free once more"...
  11. REO Speedwagon- I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore
  12. Really, really nice. I would be happy to have that on my shelf.
  13. "I am the captain of this body of mine. I send fear into the enemy lines. On the ground, in the air or at sea, they are pointing a finger at me."
  14. "Here I am sitting on this barstool, talking like a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH fool, got the twelve o'clock news blues..."
  15. I saw that orange Suzuki(?) down here at the track in Charlotte. I guess one can never have too much induction, nor to much engine in ANY car .
  16. Nice build. You and Revell did a good job on this kit.
  17. Absolutely crazy in concert back in 1973. He got... "intimate" with a dancing molar, then was decapitated. No wonder why I'm so messed up... it's all that no-good, hippie rock and roll!!!
  18. That is really nice. Give me some inspiration for my own '48.
  19. "One Way Street" would be good, too, or "Uncle Salty". Or even "Seasons of Wither". The lyrics are from Ten Years After....
  20. We actually stopped listening to an album-rock type station at my last job. Too many years of the same old, same old- even though they threw in the occasional Zappa. I knew the DJ and would ask her to shake it up a bit, play something different from, let's say, Ten Years After (NOT "I'd Love to Change the World"). No go- they were bound to a (corporate) playlist... A good filet mingnon is a nice dinner, but I don't want it every day. Now and then, a cheeseburger is good, or a bowl of chili, or some 'que.... "I got to pay my dues You know I sing the blues. Got to do my thing All I do is sing rock and roll."
  21. "Militant mothers, hidin' in their basements. Usin' pots and pans as their shield and their helmets..." "...Fillmore" ain't bad, either. "I Don't Need No Doctor".
  22. "The telephone is ringin', you got me on the run, I'm drivin' in my car now, anticipatin' fun..."
  23. "Free Bird", Lynyrd Skynyrd. I hate that song, studio and live. Probably because it's overplayed (in my opinion)
  24. "Rockin' the Fillmore" or "Frampton Comes Alive"?
  25. "Can't stand Losing You"- the Police How about- "He drives a '57 coupe, walks with a stoop, swears James Dean isn't dead..."
