  1. this is for a private run you wont see these for sale, ever. but i got more stuff lined up to print
  2. i dipped my part in future before primer but yes it will take laquers with no side effects
  3. i saw the 1:1 foose wheel yep its UUUUUUGLEEEE, needs some serious offset to make presentable
  4. Confirmed for production in 17" and 22"
  5. nice build dig the combo
  6. thats sick
  7. i worked with the makerbot 1 at school its a decent printer but the resolution is too low for fine detail work if anything its a good start to get the base shape then add details, my buddy got a makerbot 2 beta and its amazing what a 2200$ printer can do.but if youre making parts your limit in kit size part is a air cleaner before you start to loose detail.
  8. CNC operator and fulltime student
  9. its easier to pour your engine while its upside down
  10. super high res model in this video aka model grade part @ 1:22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o6pcbhylmQ
  11. yes, the stuff i had gotten made before is a resin grade type material in not. the stuff theyre talking about is PLA which i think is what solo cups are made with in which case would fry at the sight of solvents.ill probably prep it the same way i prepped my prototype which is a dip in future then primer.
  12. Heres a really big shot of the tractor printed at almost full resolution the part can be made slightly smaller then with high build primer the lines go away. I do plan on buying this printer since i can use it on more than just model cars. http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/editors/files/92364/MakerBot_Replicator2_with_Tractor.jpg
  13. stance is repairable, crappy wheels arent.
  14. thing is you wont lose out on resale on one of those like GM appliance car
  15. i would consider what i do scratch building making 3d parts isnt exactly a easy thing to do.
  16. ive looked into the printer i actually signed up for one its perfect to make custom parts like wheels and tires and the occasional futuristic engine or 2
  17. All the audio stuff was stuff i had laying around, i didnt want to use a car headunit since am/fm stations in illinois suck beyond buzz lightyears to infinity and beyond motto. Its a 40W set up using a re-purposed AV amplifier powered by a converted pc powersupply. It gets pretty loud enough to hear bass over the CNCs i plan on upgrading the amplifier in the future to a higher output and adding some usb chargers.
  18. thats one insane looking whip
