  1. On the wood floor start with light colors then too dark.I did this using plaid. First color kinda thick then the next colors as a wash. thin them down some, brush on let set a min and rub off.if you get lite spots and dark spots no fuss. over the years wood will fade and stain will build up and boards get replaced. So no two are the same.
  2. Whats the trap door for on DR side?
  3. Don't forget the air brakes. if did get some info.on the truck stop.it is close down around 90. It is now a car lot.what happened to the model's the voice had no idea .
  4. Can't forget this place. Around Wild Wood FLA, there was a old 76 across from the R/R Yard(long gone now I be-leave). In the store it was full of built models. If I understand rite the builder could not walk so he built models too pass time. On sleepless nights I would sit and watch the trains pass by and count the cars. That would be the best part of a Fla trip. looking at models and counting the train cars.
  5. Funny! Dad would stop for a nap. I would spent the whole time looking and wishing I could do what they did. time too time I'll stop at a old truck stop looking for those book's. A friend of mine was cleaning out his shop back in the Summer, and found a banana box full of those old books. think I spent a hour looking. Wish I had gotten a few.
  6. Cool now I know, been toying around with a Pete with a 12' sleeper.
  7. Next time on the turbos and exhaust.before the paint drys use some kind powder( I use baking soda)most hobby shops have a textured powder, Paint, powder, let dry and repaint. This will give a ruff rusty look.
  8. What I have done on the axle pins.Find the center and drill a hole and use a wire coat hanger. Those brake all the time.
  9. Door hinges, There a tad too long and the round end(what would be the hinge) need to sanded down a tad as well.
  10. One is the AC drier( I think) Two ????
  11. Think you could repaint them so they won't have the same outfits. Will look on my next outing.
  12. As i know of there are no lowboy kits but fore the Revell drop deck based on the UK trailers(I think) and the AMT kits that goes back to the 70's. There are a few guys that are making newer trailers by lazier cut I forget who.
  13. Tail lights!! are those from a kids bead box? I
  14. Yeah!!he did me the same way a number of times,so I stopped monkeying with him.
  15. If you are using Testors enamel that could be it.that stuff wants to run,sag separate on corners.have to paint with fine mist and let it build up. I stopped using that years ago. Went too krylon and Duplicolor. Peeling don't know. If you want too sand it and repaint and clear, I have done that.
  16. I under stand this kit been around since the 70"s and getting wacky.. What I was trying to say was using strips as spacers on each side.
  17. JT,On mine I used a belt sander on the interior, just tap it a bit on the sides and back and test fit each time. And do the peep window too and dash as well, for that I used a sanding stick. don't have a Dremel. For me I had a gap on each side were the back wall fits in the cab. I used thin strips on each side. You'r tanks what size PVC is that?? Never cross my mind to try that.
  18. here you go, got a few misstates here and there. Trying so hard to be dead on and have extra detail, just could not do it. Needs decals and clean up and a few bits here and there they will have too hold out. I buffed so much till the paint is down to the shell in spots. Should have seen the big one,10 years of hard driving it's age was showing. Ours the paint was "Dusty desert rose" none to be had around here, so I made do.
  19. Your backhoes my polls would would make a great dio. looks great.
