  4. Nah!! been taking a brake the last few weeks and it's been a bit cool for painting I may do that tomorrow. did get a idea for the cab guard over weekend as well. will keep you posted. Thanks for asking.
  5. Put my name on the list as well.379 maybe a rebuild 359? Clayton Shepard
  6. I thought about using a paper towel tube. seal it with primer and make the ends from flat sheet.Guess I could use PVC. some time I like seeing just what I can do with what I have laying around the house. The 2ED idea I had was too wrap the tube with flat sheet and maybe placing it in a little bigger tube or clamps soaking in hot water, doing the same with the gussets. If your going to use the PVC tube how about coupler joint's and slicing them in thin strips.Has that been tried?
  7. That would be cool to have,I hat to ask for cause it would be the last one in the universe. poor old trucker would have to be with out. oh well.
  8. I'm gone have too get some tips form you. I started with a hood from Bobby and set it down well after a few days it spread out I try to reshape it it broke so it has been sitting there ever since. About 2 years now maybe one day.

  11. Yep fun too watch, Here is a story for you. A friend of mine was in line too unload, truck in front of him drove on the elevator ,chained down and walked off too the safe zone, after a few mines there was a yelling(((HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)))a ladys head was sticking out the window.the driver left his wife sleeping.Bet he get it.
  12. In the start it was FORD/Sterling. From what I under stand at one point(OR year) the Sterling is a mix of a lot of trucks like a junk yard build. A friend of mind the guy he worked fore had one and finding parts was job. the Sterling book would lead too FORD then too Volvo(SP) then Freightliner. If I remember rite even some of the parts would have different names.I don't know if those trucks are still on the road or not.
  13. I was trying too,I may have too make a few changes. Like the cab guard I'm having a fit trying to it get rite. This is my first attempt at starch building. The paint not too sure yet red is so common.
  14. from the look of it, every body building log trucks since Amt came with there trailer,Looks classic.
  15. here is a up date, got the bolsters made, mocked up for placement. next guess the cab guard. I was thinking this would be a short build starting too think it may turn out too be a winter build after all, still lots too do.
  16. What kit is that?look kinda like a snap kit were did the sleeper come from?
  17. I've done got started, it is on the (new on the bench, can you guess)I think. I'm writing the book as I go and kinda have to go back to page one.I was trying to get like the photos but got off track just bit. I think it will work out. Is that from scratch or the flatbed kit? Looks great like it. Thats odd, there was a post on here with photos of a black flat deck log trailer and poof it's gone or have I finely lost my mind.
  18. Home on the range, and most of the time those owners may not have a place too call home. Most folks don't know that they see those truck and think Wow he rich. I'm guess the payment run 2k to 3k if not more a month?? , Also try the eBay motors look in the truck page lots if info there as well I use it a lot. Higway I'll get some photos in the next few days of mine.I kinda for get or think I'll get in a min.
  19. Ding,,,ding got it. You know, I spent the last few days look at the trailers around here and most of the time no two are the same. took about 2 hours too make the bolsters??????????(the polls that hold the load)12 parts in all and each one is 1/8"wide.So far I don't think it is a bad job for my first non kit build. in a nut shell I'm eye balling it.
  20. Well got the landing legs on and working. And here is a clue.
