  1. building 2 themed race cars for a show in July. Both are unknown maker resin bodies. The red car was just like the tan car............until I dropped it and the top and front end shattered. So what would you do? I cut the top off for a mid 1980s era dirt rack car. Just getting started and ideas what color to turn thr tan one into? Anyone here cast this type of body, as im always looking for more. Drew C.
  2. looks really crisp. What camera did you buy? Drew
  3. Thanks for this info. I can see why you shoot 2 part paints outside! LOL!
  4. Getting ready to order a pace booth the 24" one and wounder if any of you are using one? Im learing to airbrush but still like to use rattle cans for the convience. Do you use rattle cans some as well as other paints in yours? Read the it will blow up threads from a few years ago so im aware of that. Thanks. Drew C.

  7. Hello from the Columbia area. Im kinda new to this hobby again. The chapter im a member of is having a show soon, heres a flyer if interested. Its about 85 miles from you. PM if you need directions or just want to say hello. Drew C.
  8. Had some time this week to work on my Nova. Changed to some different wheels, worked on the chassis, roll cage, bumpers, body modifications, engine next. Still drying so the chassis is not mounted to the body properly yet.
  9. ok im thinking of buying this one. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PIXMA-MP280-Inkjet-4498B002/dp/B003VQR1SE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370117235&sr=1-1&keywords=canon+pixma+mp+280 Looks like it is a top recommendation from you guys as well as another model building website. Has the paper tray thing that don't curl it over while printing and that seems desirable for making decals. Anyone own this one here? Drew C.
  10. Im using detail masters prewired distributor kit. I don't see any plug boots in this one? I did pull out my caliper and that's a great idea was well! Why didn't I think of that myself? Thanks everyone. Drew C.
  11. Hello, trying my first pre wired distributor in my big black chevy engine. Got the distributor drilled into my block now the wires need to be drilled into the heads correct? What size drill bit works best? #72? Thanks! Drew C.
  12. sounds like a great one to do!
  13. 1991 corvette convertible. Nothing special just a nice crusin car.
  14. ive only used the spray can chrome over gloss black base and it looks pretty good. Not sure if it was worth the $11 price but had to try it.
  15. Ok, so ive looked at some previous posts about this? Im looking for making myself some waterslide type decals for myself and wonder what printer you are using or recomend in the $50-100 range? How about an all in one scanner printer set up for restoring older decals? Any software needed to do so? any free software programs! Thanks in advance for the replies. Drew C
  16. I use those long wire trash bag wraps for keeping wheels, tires, backs togather as a set. Most the time you can simply feed the wire through the holes twist it up and put it away for another day. Drew C.
  17. just getting started on this project for an upcoming show in July. This is from the Old Pro Nova kit. Body has been sanded to remove all emblems, door handles, wipers, hood scoops, wheel wells radiused like it was in the day and trunk drilled for future opening to show off chassis. Im needing some McCreary wheel decals since ive ruined 3 out of 4 on my first attempt.
  18. got these at a flea market today. Finally paid off wearing a Corvette T shirt and getting noticed by another corvette guy! It was a good day after a long dry spell!
  19. well not knowing I put them all in warm water at the same time and they all curled up and I could not get them to flatten out without folding over themselves. guess I learned so far how not to do them. LOL! PM sent to you. Drew C
  20. welcome to your neighbor from South CARolina. Great bunch of builders, collectors, traders here as well as lots information too!
  21. thank you both for this info. I will check them both out. The water slide decals are used since ive not seen McCreary tires, and well my skills are really limited to hand lettering but ill give it a try as well. Anyone else? Drew C
  22. ok new to tire decals and ruined 3 of 4 on my first attempt with some PPP tires and the McCreary water slide decals. Any place to buy a sheet of tire decals to practice with? Im looking for vintage dirt tires like Hoosier, McCreary Firestone etc. Drew
