  1. I just tried out a new to me abrasive from 3M and would like everyone to know about it.
  2. "I've never understood why people allow their panties to get in a knot about an ebay price. " X2!!
  3. "Mike, please explain this porting you did on your VL. Mine is about 30 years old & I've changed various parts over the years, but it's the only one I use." The first VL I bought I I had a hard time using it. I took it all apart and was looking at every part looking for a cause as I had never heard a bad review of this AB. I found that the holes in the aircap (?) were burred and generally not clear. I tried different drill bits in these holes until one that was snug and then drilled one size bigger, and an even larger one to put a small bevel to the hole. I've mentioned this to others that have complained about their VL and those who have done this have been pleased with the results.
  4. You need to make a dedicated "miter box" or jig to guide the drill bit,and I'd suggest drilling by hand. Use a block of hardwood,or aluminum and drill a hole in it to slide the tube into. Then drill a hole perpendicular to that. That hole will guide the very tiny drill into the tube where you want the wires to exit.
  5. I have 8.(?)!! #1 is a Badger 200. It was a good brush and I did lay down some nice paint work with it,but that was in the early nineties. I don't like it that much anymore as it became somewhat unpredictable. When it's working it does well.If someone asked should I buy one I'd suggest moving to the 150 instead. #2 Testors Aztec 470. A very good brush. I use it for shooting acrylics. #3 &4 are Paasche VL's .Fabulous brush(es). They are my GOTO especially after I did some porting to them. #5 Paasche VSR 90 I bought this as my first foray into gravity feed.Very nice brush and for doing small details like shading headers etc. #6 Badger Anthem I bought this on ebay,I put in a $20 bid and figured I'd get outbid but didn't! Fabulous brush, especially for the price! #7 Iwata Revolution vey nice brush.I use this to lay down clear coats and acrylics. It's a gravity feed and again the price was right. #8 Iwata Eclipse I bought this answering an ad on Craigslist here in AZ. Came with a Whisper Jet compressor all for $250.00! I don't have much time on it,and I need to get some bigger cups and maybe a bottle set-up. Lastly, It's not a brush, but I do have a small HVLP touch-up gun. I've only played around with it shooting alcohol thru it just to see how it sprays. I'll probably use it to spray my golf cart!
  6. No, Ed not at all .
  7. From experience... it should be Blood Red.... It's real KEEN though.

  9. WOW Nick, What shops you going to? I'd think Venture was closer than that.
  10. Gotta go with that. Drews two part series was the bomb on that era of F/C!
  11. "On the cover of a ROLLING STONE "
  12. Will/can you send the rims out for chroming or use Alcad? I saw another set for thsi same model that had aluminum rims as part of the set.
  13. It is my understanding that most of what we use can be left open to atmosphere and allowed to evaporate then dumped. I do that with LaCquer thinner, other thinners, paints etc. I would like to make a sanding table where a vacuum would suck all the dust into some kind of container, similar to the systems a good wood shop might have.
  14. That is strange as many BOS at GSL have been scales other than 1/24 25.
  15. Originally it was Seriously not for me. In fact I just saw a neat bash of a '56 Oldsmobile and '56 Nomad. I'll probably copy that. If I was building something in replica stock I might look up what color combo was the least done and do that.(unless that color was really ugly.)
  16. I don't know if they still have them, but years ago Stevens International(a hobby distributor) had the cheater slicks from the old Jo Han Dodge Ramcharger molded for them. I was friendly with a hobby shop in Illinois at that time and ordered a few sets. These were molded pretty poorly, and when I chucked them into my tire tool to sand them true I had to recut the two grooves. They may still offer them.
  17. Same here.I looked at both the '66 and '68-'70 set and can't read the detail.
  18. I broke down and went to the LHS and bought the '55 Chrysler. I did a quick grok and it sure reminds me of when I first grokked AMT's '57 Chrysler.
  19. I've not dealth with Steve yet on the internet, but I know him from shows in Indiana & Missouri, when I lived in IL. He's a stand-up guy. I'm sure you'll get many more of the same comments yet to come.
  20. Oh my poor old eyes!! Nice work
  21. "But if you have a member who is currently active, and is doing trades with other members....and STILL continues to ignore you when he owes you a model (or something) it is right, fair, and the moral thing to do to let everyone else know what has happened." This sums up exactly what I think is the correct thing to do. Tell your side. Put this on the forum and lock it. Let the other person start another thread and tell their side.
