THAT looks great , Steven ! You even added the retainers to the covers ! I can't wait to see how you do the backlite ! Now , how about the separate shoulder harnesses of the seatbelts ?
-
Q5 with white interior is going to look GREAT ! What accent colour are you going to use for the white interior ? Good call on the Deluxe 14" Wheel Covers . I have a set myself --- eventually going on a 1969 Dart GTS . Keep up the GREAT work !

So long as we can keep our antique , classic , muscle , etc. , cars on the road and enjoy them with their carbureted engines , then all's well . I enjoy some modernised conveniences , but only in new(er) vehicles . I love fuel injection... BUT , in no possible way does it provide the same kick as a carburetor's secondaries --or , even multiple carburetors-- when they fly-open and push your back against the seat . Fuel injection , as great as it is (and virtually without fuel waste) , isn't the same . Self-driving ? Not for me , thank you .

Man alive , THAT is a gorgeous drop-top ! L-89 ? Forget about it ! Such a great idea... I wonder if any were actually made ? No power-rating-increase ; however , the weight-savings would more than compensate (especially on a convertible) . Keep 'em coming , Dave !

The steering wheel modification is a wonderful improvement , Steve . That had to be no small feat -- reworking a brittle piece , installing it , then removing it to open its spokes ! WOW ! Definitely a pearl in this diamond world !

THAT is a gorgeous L-78 Camaro ! Good choice with those wheel covers , too --- are those from the 1970 Impala kit ? I have a couple of 1970 1/2 Camaro kits that I'm going to "bash" into an L-78 ; thanks for the inspiration ! Keep them coming !

Its the Muncie shifter for the 4-speed : http://oldcarbrochures.org/United States/Chevrolet/1969-Chevrolet/1969-Chevrolet-Chevelle-Brochure/slides/1969_Chevrolet_Chevelle-18-19.html Here's the "Horseshoe" auto shifter / gate (same for 1969) : http://oldcarbrochures.org/United States/Chevrolet/1968-Chevrolet/1968-Chevrolet-Chevelle-Brochure/slides/1968_Chevrolet_Chevelle-18-19.html

The GTX has the standard , Road Runner & GTX-style bonnet from the 1971 "Satellite" kit of decades ago --- nice to see it return ! Would like to see the standard tiller from that same Satellite return as well . I can't believe that the Chevelle was already updated to a 1969 model ! Hopefully a COPO version isn't far behind .

Proper hood for the '69 1/2 roadrunner
1972coronet replied to 5150ratrodder's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
"Upon further review..." It would appear that the piece I'd recommended is a Satellite bonnet with a 6Bbl. scoop ! My apologies . I don't have any other recommendations at this point . -
I never would have thought to look for that front fender emblem ! Now I can't un-see it ! Haha ! Other examples are the headlamps and their bezels for the Super Sport .

The first one is a Concourse four door hardtop ; the other is a Malibu . It was common back then to retouch ( e.g. , airbrush ) previous model year's images to represent the upcoming model year . This was typical of earliest prints of brochures ; revisions follow . ( for instance , I have a 1972 Dodge brochure ; it was printed in 08/1971 . Mention of the 440 Six Pack is at least twice in that early brochure . ) .

Hart's Parts Resins . I've bought items from Hart , and they are top notch --- "buy with confidence" https://hartspartsresin.com/product/69-plymouth-rr-gtx-6pack-hood/ -

Acadians : 1968-1970
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks much . I'll have to get one of those sheets . -
Has anyone converted the Revell 1969 Nova to an Acadian ? If so , how did you convert it ? I'd like to build a "What If?" S.D. 396 (was the 396 available in the Acadian ?) Thanks much !

Stunning work , Steve ! The brightwork along the tops of the fenders , doors , and quarter windows ---- that would drive me to insanity ! I would be terrified of slipping the knife . Mighty fine Olds A-Bod !

1950 Chevy 3100 engine change
1972coronet replied to Wm David Green's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I wonder if the AMT 1970 1/2 Camaro would be a good candidate ? I seem to recall that 'F' Body ( and , perhaps since they're shared , 1968-1972 'X' Body ) subframe was a fairly common swap . This would permit an , in essence , easier engine swap ---- the Baldwin-Motion Phase III 454 or the Z~28's LT-1 350 ---- since the engines will fit their respective subframe(s) . The only other consideration would be , how many modifications would be necessary to add the Camaros' "clip" to the '50 Pick-Up frame ? -

**ADDENDUM** I would insist upon the 8 3/4 rear , too . None of that garbage 7 1/4 stuff ! Worst differential that Chrysler ever produced during that era ! ___________________________________________________________________________________________ That 340 would be mean ride ! Exhaust would be the biggest challenge , at least conventional exhaust ( e.g. , not fenderwell-exit headers ) . IIRC , the only T-Flite that'll fit in the trans tunnel of the 1960-1966 A-bodies is the 904 .
-
On-Topic : The decent article failed to mention the 1972 "V" Code Charger and Road Runner . Obscure ? Certainly . It was the last multi-carb'ed , high-compression engine , north-of-300hp engine produced anywhere .
-
I'd rather have a 1965-1966 Valiant coupe with the 273 Commando / 4-speed / Fast-Ratio manual steering / disc brakes , than an comparably-equipped Barracuda . Even as a life-long MoPar fan ( sans favourtism ) , I've never been a fan of the 1964-1966 Barracuda . That gigantic backlight is just too much ! Weighs a tonne , too . The first generation Mustangs were / are beautiful , no matter which body style ( hardtop coupe , convertible , or fastback et alia ) . I'll take a K-Code hardtop coupe / 4-speed / 3.89 gear / disc brakes , please .

@Nazz , You're likely correct . I've always referred to that as 'plaid' , but it's nice to know its proper nomenclature . Thanks ! @StevenGuthmiller , Thanks much ! That interior looks fantastic ! I'll check out Scale Motorsports .- 11 replies

Plaid . Anyone who's over the age of 40 ( or of Scots-descent ,like me ) knows what that nifty pattern is . Plaid . The patterns wasn't exclusively a fashion statement from c.1969 - c.1979 , it was also a common site in vehicles from that era , especially 1973-1978 . Plaid . Anyone produce decals with that pattern ? If so , are different colours and / or pattern variations available ? Plaid . Here's a fine sample , direct from the 1973 Plymouth Satellite , et alia , brochure :

Check out Martyn Schorr's (former editor of the long-defunct High-Performance CARS magazine ) excellent book Day One . Here's a slice of 1965 Coronet 500 Hemi Prototype : https://books.google.com/books?id=Ic5EDwAAQBAJ&pg=PA88&lpg=PA88&dq=martyn+schorr+tests+a+1965+hemi+coronet&source=bl&ots=p637QVvUH5&sig=ACfU3U0IT9qsW6W6nW-7vAShxyVSvZ2PTw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiH-6OVtePnAhVMOq0KHRoMDm4Q6AEwDXoECAoQAQ#v=onepage&q=martyn schorr tests a 1965 hemi coronet&f=false
