  1. If Round2 could do a 1970 Charger, and do it right, I'd buy it. I mean go back to the drawing board, and start from scratch. Create a brand-new chassis and drive-train (440 with Torqueflite would be nice), create a new body and associated parts, and create a new interior with separate door-panels, etc. If they could do this, and stay away from the far-gone MPC junk of a Charger, I would justify paying money for it.
  2. The more I look at this build, the more I want to build a Charger 500! Just beautiful!
  3. I was just wondering, has there been any recent news about anyone coming out with a 1970 Dodge Charger? I know there have been rumors for the longest time that Revell would eventually do one, but I was just curious about if this had any basis in fact, or if it was just a dream come true. Does anyone close to Revell have anything to share? Because, quite personally, I'd like to have one to build a good R/T in sub-lime green with black interior and black vinyl top, powered with a 440 Six Pack. But that's just me.
  4. Ohh..... McNally with a '68 Charger. Do I hear a Vanishing Point type story in the works?
  5. This should be good. I thought about building a Charger with a 383, but I have too many Chargers already!
  6. Guess who's back, back, back, back again... Let's just jump straight into the the pictures... The body had been further detailed. I went with BMF on this one, turns out it was a little bit of a challenge. The trim is not very defined on the body, so you have to go slow and use very little pressure on your knife. I glued the taillights and glass in, and we'll just leave the story on how the front windshield ended up in a white haze a mystery. I've applied to Revell for a new one though. I completed the interior and got it all put together. I have to give credit, I love how this interior builds up. Everything locks together, and I did not have to use one piece of tape to hold things up while the glue dried. I detailed up the Rallye rims in their appropriate shades of silvers and metalizers. And finally, I seated the HEMI in it's final home. Enjoy!
  7. Oh, I've never paid much attention. I just left the kit as is, it looked nice on my shelf, so I never corrected everything.
  8. Man, I've never seen anybody tear the Revell kit up so bad. I just have to ask, what exactly is wrong with it?
  9. Hey guys! I'm back and I have updates! The body has had decals applied and two more coats of clear applied. The engine is done. I painted the chassis. I may add some brake lines and such, but I would like some input on how to go about that, as I've never done it before. And I painted the interior pieces. I also flocked the floor pan. Enjoy!
  10. That's just two coats of Testor's Wet Look Clear.
  11. Just got a part from gtx6970. Great guy, even let me have the part for nothing in return. I'll definitely trade with him!
  12. Updates! Get your updates here! I wired and plumbed the engine today. I still have to build the fan belt/pulley assembly and mount it to the block, and attach the exhaust manifolds but that will be done all in good time. As with my previous builds, I painted the carbs a more appropriate shade of aluminum and then added a black wash. Used, but not abused. Got the Shaker and air cleaner painted today, also I sprayed the exhaust manifolds too. They look silver on camera, but in person it's more of a gunmetal color. I also painted the body and hood. I am in love with this Ice Blue. In my opinion, it's come the closest than anything else to B5 Blue that I can go buy on a store shelf. Shiny! And some food for thought.... First one to guess it gets a cookie. Enjoy!
  13. Just wanted to give you guys a small update, I have completed my master and will be sending it off to Kevin for casting later on in the week! After that, it's his ballgame.
  14. The heads are correctly installed. Hemi heads look upside down, but for Chrysler to actually make the HEMI design possible, they had to turn them like they did.
  15. Thanks for the feedback! Here's my solution. "Well, grandson, I had a old 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'cuda, and I remember the transmission going out and I replacing it with a stockish one, and then I remember having the water pump bolts chromed in it's earlier years...."
  16. Thanks guys for the concerns with the paint, I'll have to do some tests on a plastic spoon tomorrow. In the meantime, how about some HEMI Orange for ya.... I painted the block and transmission today. I also detailed the bolt heads on the front of the water pump. I still need to paint the oil filter gloss white. Enjoy!
  17. Imported straight from New Hampshire! Hey guys! Brandon here today with the start of a new project. This time it's Revell's new 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'cuda. My paint of choice will be "Ice Blue" from Testors. It can be found in their One-Coat Lacquer line of paints. I chose this because it looked to be closer to B5 Blue than any other color I have used in the past. We'll see how that plays out though... And here's the start of the 426 HEMI. She's ready for a coat of Mopar HEMI Orange. I'll spray this tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy!
  18. Looking good Mike! I just started back home from New Hampshire, made sure before I left to stop by Hobby Emporium in Tyngsborough, MA. Picked myself up Revell's 1970 'cuda, a Monogram '71 GTX and paint for both. Also got me a few packs of BMF, I am all set for a bit!
  19. Coming back home from New Hampshire on I-81, stopped at a Golden Corral in Maryland to find this beauty sitting in the parking lot. Owner was outside with it, asked him if the "383" badging on the hood was false advertising, he didn't say a word, but just popped the hood to reveal a factory stock 426 HEMI. I asked him if I could hear it, he said sure and was even gracious enough to let me crank it! Talk about a purrrrrtttyyy car.
  20. Beautiful Charger! I can't get enough of Mopars, keep up the good work!
  21. Hey guys, here's my completed 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS. It is painted Testors Blazing Black with red accents. Enjoy!
  22. Revell's '69 Charger. I remember when I first got one, I picked up the MPC General Lee (When it still had the Charger 500 body) the same day. I remember building the hunk-of-junk MPC blob-of-plastic first. When it was completed, I cracked open the Revell offering, and wished that I would have just left the MPC on the shelf.
  23. Saw a restored 1970 Charger R/T today, B5 Blue with black vinyl top. Wore New Hampshire plates.
