I am fixing to build my dream model. A 1970 Dodge Charger using AMT's F&F Charger as a base and resin parts from Modelhaus. Any pointers on how to go about building a dream model?

70 Charger
Mr. Moparman replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yep I know about that. Im ready with the amazing putty and evergreen and sandpaper to takle that. -
I am thinking about converting the AMT F&F Charger into a stock '70 Charger using a grille and insert from Modelhaus. What can I rob from the MPC '70 Super Bee kit and MPC General Lee kit? What will I need to get from Modelhaus besides the grille? I kinda want to stay within a $40 range. Thanks!

That thing is going to look awsome when its done! You sould really think about having it cast in resin.

I have decided my color would be Model Master Sub-Lime Green. The Story When they get back to the shop they start tinkering around with a new car, a ’67 Dodge Charger R/T, that they bought for $500 dollars at the Mopar Nationals. After that they wash the Dart to get it ready for next’s week’s race. The Build Engine work has started. Don't even get started about the intake manifold it's not bothering me one bit. I was thinking about fabricating a '68 Charger tailpan fit this one but I have decided aganst it. The body got a coat of primer today. Enjoy!

While I am waiting for parts for my Challenger I decided to start on the Hemi Dart I got for Christmas. Me and my friend were talking the other day about Dick Landy, Sox and Martin and all the other famous drag racers. Then a idea hit us, we will build a slew of models, all drag racers. They all woud have custom decals. They would all have a story based on that car and what that car had to do with us. Here is the first car. I hav'nt pick a coloryet but it might be silver. The Story Brandon gets into his 1968 Hemi Dart on the morning of Saturday May 21, 2020. His buddy Will is try to explain to him what to do but Brandon is so eager to race (Did I mention it was his first race?) he is like yeah, yeah hit the gas when the light turns green. “Yep, now go get ‘em!†He leaves his mark at the starting line and makes it down the track at a blazing 5.92 seconds. The Build The body after opening up the back wheel wells, removing the GTS logos and removing the front marker lights. The custom decals me and my friend made. Enjoy!

Cats in the model room
Mr. Moparman replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry to hear that. I know the pain. I lost three cats when I was three years old. The wierd thing was they died one thusday, one friday, one saterday. All three to the same cause. A dog attack. -
So while the engine is waiting on its pre-wired dizzy from Kris Morgan, I decided to do some other stuff. The intierior is complete. A shot at the kit Gregg went and got along with the car modelers favorite magazine. Looking forward at the dash. The engine bay. The body after being painted, detailed, decals applied, and cleared. The chassis detailed. Enjoy!

Do you have a cat that sits in your model room watching you work on your prize model, quietly planning the way up to the shelve with your award-winning built-ups on it?
