  1. haha, i was about to say isnt it a 69?? nice idea on using the 68. im no mopar guy, so this info is handy. i too want to build a general lee one day. it's a childhood fav, corny now adays..lols but i still like it. i have the mpc general lee and man was i disapointed in how lame the kit is. well enough of me ill be waiting for more.
  2. thanks fellas. ron, this is a plane jane no engine detail build. i put the intercooler in place cause, well there would be just a huge hole.. and if i didnt cut out the plastic in that area, there would be a wall..now that wouldnt look right. so i cut it out and added the intercooler. the seats came from an aoshima ae86 kit. draggon, there are a few sets on ebay right now. hobby search is coming out with new sets soon and so will hlj. i get some when available cause you wont know when the next batch will pop out. i use to get them from hwjapan, but they closed up shop due to the tsunami/earthquake. other than that its a hunting spree for them.
  3. shakotan means: simply put, lowered chassis, nearly scrapping the floor, no speed bump access, oh snap! my oil pan cracked and destroyed my engine...ooops..good thing its plastic.. hey guys. well i decided to break this Z away from the 510 thread. taking a break from it. i think it deserves a bit of it's own spot light. the kit is an old USAIRFIX kit. motorized and absolutely no detail to give it that wow effect. not only that, but it comes with the huge US bumpers..yuck. not using them. im pretty much keeping it that way. simple but with a bit of bite. now i know how much you guys love negative camber, so i dry fitted with the most i can get out of them... J/K.............. the rear is still in the works. im angle sanding the plastic hub holding the wheel until i get something functional. which will be like on the first pics. i might leave the long pipe, but ill be using other material for it. as you can see i covered up the holes that are suppose to be for the motorized part of the kit. im working on the battery interior tub. you can kinda see what i have to work with. it's a super simple build, but yet it's taking me so long to finish it..lols..i hope the extra details make this one better. something to fill its mouth. needs a bit more work. but it'll look legit when done.

    Under Glass

wow, that is the best looking display case i have seen. will be waiting to see the others done. if i only had the time to build all the kits i have...
  5. wow, glad you guys are better now. cats are great to have around. we have 3 cats and a kitten that we had to pull out between 2 wood fences in the back yard.
  6. that looks good enough to where it already better looking than the parts box SR.
  7. yo jimmy, good to see you work on another masterpiece. looking forward to more progress.
  8. i just went through this thread, man this is amazing. looking forward to seeing this one done.
  9. looks good. keep up the good work.
  10. just use plastikote sandable primer. plenty more in quantity and for a better price. i heard that the EPA is getting involved, so get prepared for it to not even come into the US.
  11. ooooh, top notch work. that is a street bruiser for sure. light chassis, rwd and big power= what the heck just hit me..lols
  12. wow, that came out nice. i like the color a lot.
  13. wow man, you have a busy workbench..lols kinda like mine, but cleaner and you actuall complete them..haha. very nice work you have going on these impalas. i thought those wheels didnt look like the ordinary spokes. keep up the good work. id like to see the chev wagon in that box though..lols
  14. im pretty much gonna say the same as above. lols a lot of the new kits come with extras or sometimes you'll want to use a resin part instead of a OE part from the kit. go to yard sales, thrift stores and model car shows. you'll often find some things that you might use later on or find that someone here needs what you have and vise versa sucks i didnt know that someone would buy/trade the left over parts from my old kits. i had a small box i emptied out prior to getting on forums.
  15. man, i like where this is going. taking the lowrider style up a notch. as for the names you have in mind, i would take out the crosses since its the opposite of hell. "bone collector" comes to mind. "soul hunter"
  16. that is probably the coolest mini around. widening the mini is something i wouldnt have thought about. excellent idea.
  17. wow mike. came out fantastic. so did the build..lols enjoyed the whole thing. looking forward to the next build and story.
  18. thats gonna be one fast 7. awesome attention to detail
  19. fujimi makes sparco wheels. there are plenty floating around on the web. i think even ebay has some.

    I'm curious

haha, i have something similar. the fender arches like those that you have..lols are you planning on letting the bodies go?
  21. wow, that is a fantastic looking impala. looks like it just rolled of the lot.
  22. i have used the styrene hollow rod and solids to make shocks. only thing i dont like is that they are not always perfectly round. so used k&s alum tubing, but had trouble getting the ends to hold together with CA glue.. but they do look good. for springs, i used some .030 aluminum welding wire to make the rear springs for my celica build. for 1/24 scale they look about right. if i could get .023 wire, it would be way better. it wraps around nicely on any round object you use to make them. finally photobucket loaded up..lols
  23. i would come into the chat, but im at work and my browser acts funny on the mcm chat.
  24. hey hey mr cooper, great to see you back on here. that SLS looks killer. keep up the great work and hope to see some more from you.
  25. i gotta say, that paint job is pretty crazy. always look forward to your builds. creative is the first word to start with.
