got my hobby design etch set, and window masks for the Tamiya Nissan GTR, and also a resin ZR-1 engine from Frank Rizzo "ODD Resins"

Work. I work in a camp 18hrs from home , up north. gone for a week and home for a week. not really enough time to get into a build.

Id take one if someone was to cast it.

just scored all of these from a local guy on a local car forum..... 75.00 for all! 95% of them are unstarted, a couple have engines assembled. theres 2 lightnings in the box, and 2 ram vts also.

got a few things that I was waiting for, tamiya GTR with the VortensteinVentross upgrade set (also waiting on the hobby design opening doors kit, and tamiya etch) got my flintstone 550A and decals to make James Dean`s "little bastard"

IM probly sitting around 500 unbuilt kits and another 100 or so started projects/ bought builtups that are for re-doing. im bad for buying a case or 2 of kits that I like, the new revell 2010 Camaro, and Lowrider cadillac, etc.

This week I got 4 more 2010 Camaro SS kits...... seriously hands down my favorite kit, of the past 10+ years original builtup 74 Camaro with pegasus 19" Irocs and an unopened johan cutlass johan 79 caddy, in great shape only missing the hood ornament, which I have extras of and my Hobby shop scores (minus nissan orange paint from canadian tire)

Im watching this build closely! great craftsmanship here. great job so far.

if i recal correctly someone did it with baremetal or silver/gold leaf, and udes a q-tip and ?toothpaste?? and individually turned every detail. I know a few of the lowrider guys do it with leafing.

price doesnt concern me, but tamiya has a "boring" color lineup. at least what is available locally. I wanted Nissan orange...... which is why i picked up the color match paint. as far as I can see tamiya doesnt make that.

ALright, so just as a test, I took a scrap body that was laying here ( 2012 corvette zr-1) and sprayed it with the same orange duplicolor paint..... no primer, no sealer, no prep or washing of any sorts..... layed down perfectly and no issues...... now im really confused.

I cant control the reducer in this color in particular as it was a rattle can touch up paint. I was using 1k filler primer before and it was working alright, but it reacted with House of Kolor that I was airbrushing.

back again with problems, this time a tamiya kit here are the steps used open kit wash all parts with dawn and luke warm water dry with white paper towl let air dry clean up mold lines wash again duplicolor primer duplicolor sealer primer ( 2 coats) duplicolor primer ( light coat) wetsand/let dry light coat of duplicolor color match nissan orange 2 medium coats waited about 20minutes 1 final coat after about an hour I went back to find this: what is causing this? I was told before that it was a reaction to different types of paint ( this is all the same product line and brand) I was told it was from not washing, but I believe that this is the actual plastic melting..... which shouldnt happen with the sealer.

I wish I could say that I did... however I grabbed it up from a guy on ebay. Ill be making some of my own in the future for personal builds though, changing the design a bit to suit my needs

Seller replied back today, and shipping was $8.00 he told me that he would redund the extra that I had payed, however I thanked him for the offer, but he didnt need to. He was acutally surprised as he only ever prints his labels and sends items, and didnt realise that you could ship for cheaper. Needless to say , we are both happy with the transaction, he assusre me that it didnt cause any extra work or for him to go out of the way, so I was glad to hear that. this topic can now be closed. Thanks

I am currently working with the seller. He agreed that the shipping was ridiculous, and is gong to the post office to see what can be done. Thanks for the advice/input guys

Sorry about that buddy, when I had won this auction I had not had the other 2 yet, they came up for sale afterward. I really dont have plans for them yet, but usually when I find a kit that looks good I grab a bunch of them for the stash. By the looks of it, this kit may be back up for bids, as I offered to pay his listing fees/relist fees, etc. for the trouble.

thats where I am confused Luis..... VERY FEW of the parcels that I have recieved in the past, say 4 -6 months have had tracking numbers. I buy ALLOT of stuff. My biggest complaint is that say the shipping qoute is 20.00 ..... I have no problem paying it, if that is the ACTUAL shipping cost, plus a few bucks for a packaging/handling fee; But when I pay 20.00 shipping and I recieve it and the box label clearly states that it cost 5.75 to ship....... Ive clearly been ripped off.

im done, ive got mail to open, and things to build. no time to flex my internet muscles.

I buy LOTS of stuff mostly from the states.... so I am never really "Amazed" by shipping charges.... dont see my couple hundred posts on this forum, make me look like a newb, ive been in the game for years. I just dont post much here. Ive bought a few grand worth of kits/detail items on ebay in the past 6 months already, and not once have I had someone try to get 3 times the item price in shipping charges. The main reason that I posted this up, is because of the 38-42.00 shipping. I do agree that i overlooked the US only shipping, but in my defence, when im on site, or up in camp at work, I do all of my dealings on an Iphone.
