  1. it all depends on how bad you want something. I can get the newest kits out, shipped from the states, for cheaper than I can get them at hobby lobby in saskatoon, or our shop in Prince albert..... hell the new camaro kits 28.00-32.00 at the hobby shops here in sask..... I paid 17.99 and 6.50 shipping from the states. I actually saved money. bought 6 and made out great.
  2. id like to see Moebius take on an early 50s-mid 60s Cadillac...... we one of them!!
  3. heck I was buying kits at 13 and all through my teen years. I started working at age 13, sweeping a grocery store parking lot after school, and soon moved up to sweeping the backroom, and stocking shelves, and eventually Managing the store;before getting into my current field. the problem is most kids dont have to , or dont want to work.... hard to buy anything when you have no cabbage..... I started building at the age of 7 or so, my father wouldnt let me help him in the garage until I knew basic parts.... he bought me a snap kit ( 1:32 55 chevy, molded in bright orange) and after a few kits, and being able to identify basic parts, (intake, carb, steering column, etc.) I was allowed to pass him tools and monkey around in the garage. Most of the teens that I know, or have worked with, are completely stupid when it comes to 1:1 vehicles and I thank my father for essentially making me learn. when the buddys were driving old hondas and ######, I had built a 70 monte carlo and raced it 1/4 mile and some autocross, ive built/restored a few 1:1s and owned allot of other cool stuff, since. Kids now days dont have to work for anything, mommy and dady support them, and dont make them do anything.... if I didnt go outside and run around, or speed up and down the sidewalk on my bike and mash on the brakes and leave blackies in front of the neighbours houses ( they hated me for that) then life would have been h e l l for me! we had video games, and all kinds of stuff, but if we sat and played for too long, guess what...... it was unplugged and we were forced to do something creative.... through my later teen years, I used Model Building as a release for all the "teen" problems I had. when buddys were doing all kinds of drugs and getting arrested and such, I was building models and 1:1s.... and guess what, all those buddies are still doin that....
  4. im with james.... ive probly spent about 2k on hobby stuff this year already, Im 25.... not a kid, but while the buddies were out drinking and acting up getting in trouble, I was building model cars..... then got into 1:1 stuff.... and when my friends were driving saturns and tauruses..... I was driving the stuff that I build models of, 70 monte carlo, various cadillacs, camaros, etc.
  5. the donks go high, the lowrider ones go Higher... I usually grab up any that are under 30.00 I got 20 of the donks when they were 5.00 at big lots a couple years ago. and have a case on pre-order of the cali wheels version.
  6. thats a 90s..... the 89 is a "square " design
  7. These ones are MUCH better Im kind of a Caddy Hoarder
  8. my new Daily Driver/toy I just bought HIghway Interceptor! its only got 65000miles on it. Like brand new. And not allot of Idle time either. the camaro will be a "sometimes" ride, until I trade it off after summer.
  9. Ryan, who owned scalelows.com had casted a resin cutlass body, but they are long gone. The site is no longer running, due to his passing last year.
  10. yes I did, they were on sale for 12.49
  11. These were all Last weeks mailbox finds, and local purchases THis, was todays buy, 2006 RCMP Highway interceptor p71 106km (65000miles) barely broken in.
  12. Bump for Jaydar
  13. Jaydar, there is a thread for the camaro convertible . It started out as a 2011 Amt convertible promo , I did the same type of treatment on the front end to make it full detail. Check the topic "2010 camaro SS full detail convertible"
  14. House of Kolor paint, DUpont Premier chroma-clear
  15. Just started on this last night. Using the Revell snap 2010 Mustang GT convertible kit, and a 2010 Mustang GT500 kit. Ive seen a couple guys cut the hood out and swap the chassis and engine into the convertible kit, but I havent seen anyone actually change the bumpers etc. Figured it would be a good project to go alongside my 2011 Camaro SS convertible I started by hacking off the front and rear bumpers and front support, and replacing them with the GT500 ones. I still need to cut out the wiper cowl and replace it, and the rad support with the full detail ones. This project will be slow going , as I work away from town for a week, and am home for a week. I just wanted to post up that Im alive and still building, lol. Any comments and critisisms are welcome.
  16. ..... the things I would do for that Regal Grille.....
  17. Rob, it's a curbside. That's why I have converted this one to full detail. The Amy snap kit is just a stock SS , it does not have the GM-X body kit package
  18. James , it feels great to be back at building. I just want to finish something, it seems I have about 200 started projects.
  19. I've seen that one Steve. But these 2 are brand new and this convertible will be totally correct and full detail.
  20. I bought one of them too, and I was VERY impressed. I couldnt find anything that needed attention, no bubbles, nothing. great quality!
  21. I have thought of canvasing a few casters to see what could be done, once the body is completed AMT Makes the Convertible/pace car they are only available as the promo which goes for around 35.00 on ebay, it comes with the heritage grille. I will also be casting the grill, as well as the MPD SINISTER hood, when I get around to it.
  22. looks great!! Where did the wheels come from?
  23. I dont even pay attention to gas prices anymore. I have a Job where I work 18 hours from home for a week at a time, and have to travel 6.5 hours in my vehicle until I board a plane and fly the rest of the way to site ( on the company) They provide us with a travel subsidy, which only really covers 1/4 of the cost of fuel, so a few of us from the same hometown ride together and split the cost. I drive a Suburban 2500 one of the other guys has a Hemi Ram, and another has an avalanche, not the greatest on fuel but when travelling 13hours a week..... id rather be in a large 4x4 rather than a small car. especially in the winter, I dont know if any of you are familiar with saskatchewan/alberta winters. lol
  24. I got it as a started projecy from David@minidreams its 2 Tahoes lengthened into a suburban, then after I got it, I mated a 454SS front clip to it, so that it could be a fll detail build. I also added a resin 4x4 chassis.
