  1. got these in the mail today the 66 and snap kit are selaed. the 63 is open but complete and near mint!
  2. looks sick!!! I just ordered 22" centerline smoothies and an MSD electronic ignition conversion for my 64 DeVille convertible.
  3. looks great! im just about to venture outside my usual modelling subjects ( cadillacs) and build a baldwin motion 70 1/2 that ive wanted to do for a while now.
  4. the hobby shop here, the foil is so wrinkly you cant even salvage 1" sections of it, its terrible, Im pretty sure hes had some of his foil for over 7-8 years I know he has kits from the early 90s still. lol I get all my foil from scaledreams.com , I get 2 sheets at a time, and store them in the refridgerator.
  5. Im looking to get into a hot rod/ rat rod build. ive got a few kits for parts , lil coffin ( wheels and tires), revell 32 ford good guys kit, and the lindberg 25 T.... I will be z ` ing the frame etc. anyways, but what is the best frame to start with? from which kit?
  6. better yet, grab yourself a copy of "amusin cruisin" mag... no ads, all cars!
  7. lol, kevin has been after my stash for a while, lol Ive known him for a minute , over on Layitlow. he has a pretty nice stash of johan kits, and cadillacs..... but no where near mine I think im at 19 hearses, 17 resin big bodies, and close to; if not more than 100 other johan cadillacs. all I build is cadillac though, so I grab em all up, all my 1:1s are cadillacs too
  8. in the mail today: -Amt baldwin motion camaro kit -resin cowl hood for trumpeter nova -resin cowl hood for 84 gmc dually -Johan MINT opened 1966 cadillac customizing kit sent money for: -2 johan 64 caddy verts -johan 64 caddy hard top -2 johan 1931 cadillacs -johan 67 cadillac vert -johan 65 cadillac vert -monogram 59 cadillac vert with photo etch kit -johan 63 cadillac vert mint opened -johan 79 cadillac sealed snap kit.
  9. I just won an auction for a Jo-han 66 caddy customizing kit, with the cost of the kit, an shipping im already in for $101.00...... before I start building it. I dont even bother with the new kits, there is nothing appealing to me, no one makes a decent cadillac..... you have the the ugly "custom" riced out STS-v ,the old monogram 59 seville,... and the new escalades... lindbergs hopper 77-79, and thats about it. big body gm stuff is limited, 70 impala, lindberg 61 impala both versions, amt 62 bubble, and the donk 63 impala... not alot to chose from. ill stick to my vintage kits.
  10. looks great! you have PM!
  11. Ive opened 10 sealed johan kits that ive gotten off ebay, heavenly hearses(3) cadillac ambulances(4), 64 cadillac hardtop, 64 cadillac convertible, and a 66 cadillac customizing kit..... all have been perfect. the only issuue I had with 1 of the ambulances is that it was the 2000 re-issue. the box is identical and everything, but it has a glossy flyer advertising current models.
  12. adjust your screen, lol I see it fine. heres a "flash " shot
  13. hit refresh a few times, photobucket has been acting up. just call your autobody supply and ask for it... guarenteed they have it. Its all I`ll use. it wetsands very nice and is great for light and dark bases! I even use it for interiors and such.
  14. i picked up this nice primer from the auto paint store, its light tan, and a high build, so it will fill any little surface scratches. its "Pro Form" "1k high build primer/filler its about 9.00 a can, but once you use it , youll never want to use anything else. It works great with all HOK paint, and the testors laquers!
  15. 1 coat of 1k auto high build tan primer, /wetsand / 1 spray HOK snow white pearl. No problems what so ever
  16. black, white, cream, mauve, red
  17. yea the side are curved and too square, and there isnt enough of an outward "bow" to the top line. (please excuse the mess) but ive attatched a couple photos of my 1:1 project 64 convertible for reference.
  18. want to part with that hearse? I really dont need any more, but wouldnt mind another, lol pm me a trades list or cash price if you do. Ive got caddy verts moulded in green, blue and white, 64 hardtops moulded in red, white, and light blue. hearses moulded in burgundy, tan, brown, 1 black(very rare 50 made from what I heard a factory promo shiped in a plain brown box with a picture of it taped to it) and a couple white.
  19. quality> amt thats pretty decent still... the hobby shop here has 10+ yr old stock @ upwards of 24.99 a kit. I dont worry much about that stuff though cause all I build is Johan cadillacs and resin cadillacs, so right off the run im looking at 50+ $ a kit
  20. I just picked up another caddy fleetwood! this one will be on zenith 96 spoke wires and airbag by spring! the 64 convertible is on hold!
  21. looks great so far. often times lowriders are painted with "patterns" and such, here is a QUICK how to I threw together over on the LowDownCreations forum Mademans HOW TO "lowrider patterns" also, check out Layitlow.com/forums check the model forums for insperation. Hope this helps!! remember too, little things to add to realism of a lowrider - switchbox, scaled down lowrider magazines, wire wheels, lots of chrome and or gold, pinstriping, which can be achieved by using gel pens ( but you must be very careful and clear over it, as they will not dry) thx, Mike aka Mademan
  22. man, do I wish I was around then! the days when cars were built tough, metal not plastic. You could go somewhere and talk to someone instead of a automated "who gives a heck" phone service.music, was music, it was emotion and personal experiences. Respect and courtesey were demonstrated to others.... and did I mention... the cars!! I was born in 86, so I missed out on all that good stuff!... except the cars! summer time I drive a 64 caddy convertible, I like talking with my grandfather who was born in `32 and my father who was born in `58 ( he got to expirience the cool models of the 60s!!!) the stories are amazing. I was talking with my grandfatehr the other day and he was telling me about his 57 buick.... he bought it off his neigbour for $75.00.... running driving , complete almost new. he always said when I was younger... if you have the choice, the opportunity and a little bit of money.... always.. drive a cadillac!!!
  23. nevermind. fogured it out. 1991 nissan figaro!
