Hanging Up The #11s For A Long While
mademan replied to Lownslow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yikes, Ive said haters a few times in the last week. Im the most Gansgter 21yr old white male Prarie boy workin 2 full time jobs and buiding 1:1 lowriders in my only free time. I find lots of things on Model message boards very controdictive, most of the older members are always talking about keeping the young guys in the game(hobby, just my gangster slang) then when something they dont like comes along, they get all upity and start running off at the Keys. As previously said, if you dont like it, dont look, keep your mouth shut. Im a member of another Model Forum, we have Mexicans(sorry for generalizing, or offending) Americans, Canadians, whites,African Americans, Swiss, australians, and everyone gets along just fine, everyone brings to the table what they know, and in times when they are in a bind, they ask for help. Heck there are even a few older members in the 50+ age range, who build lowriders, donks , etc. etc. I think everyone needs to lighten up and see that everyone has their own style of building/living, etc. and we need to respect that, lets not look at the type of build, or the style. lets look at the hard work, effort, and thought/creativity that was put into the build, and look at it for what it is, not for what we believe it should be. thx, Mike -

Anyone Knows Tkm Models
mademan replied to tooltime-fan's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
as previously stated, TKM is some hard stuff to work with. here is an sts that I picked up to replicate my real one. I Marked out all of the lines that needed straightening/correcting. the roof was warped really badly, I ended up filling the inner roof with JB weld, and placing pressure on it until it hardedned so that i was able to reshape the roof. - roof was sagging, and very very thin -front grille is bent, and is wrong(should be straight vertical, not sloped) -body was warped -lines/mouldings were sloppy -wheel wells were a bit incorrect -roofline is wrong -rear window is too "bubbly" -overall the whole thing is off, here are the pictures. here is the real car that I hope to be able to replicate. I also have a TKM 94 eldorado which is in storage, as I will NEVER build it, it will require way too much work to make correct. -

Protect your models from those nasty tires!!
mademan replied to KT EASTMAN's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I generally throw the kit tires into a tub, or in the garbage, as I mainly use aftermarket tires. but ive never actualy seen what people say tires in older kits do. Just last week I opened up 2 orig. issue jo-han kits from the late 60s, a haulin hearse, and a resuce ambuance cadillac, both were sealed, untouched, and there were no issues what soever. mabey I just got lucky? -

What's Your Favorite Ype Of Model?
mademan replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cadillacs, any cadillac, mainly hearses. pretty much any GM big body from the 60`s-70`s impalas , caprices, bonnevilles, catalinas, etc. -
Got off a long shift (5:30am-5pm) and was surprsised to see slips in my mailbox to go pick up parcels at the post office. Took a ride over there expecting 1 package, but got whole bunch, heres what I got: a few more hearses/ambulances, all came today except the 2 outside primered ones, i just threw there for the pics. the midde 3 are all sealed. Finnally got my resin 66 skylark from wendel sowers (af/x , draggin_plasitcs, etc. etc. etc. ) after 2 months, and many-a-emails, ad attempted phone calls. Also got my 2 door big body, and a 2door box caprice from a Caster on another board Some ultra fine flake, gold dust, and micro chrome within the next couple days I should have a raft load more comming. Ill have to dig out the rest of the hearse/ambulances and get a group shot.

I am a meat cutter, I cut for a fairly small store, which has a reputation for having the best meat in town. We even have hunters who come from the states, and stop in on the way up north. At the moment I am also "acting produce manager" at the same store, as our manager left. I was offered the job, but due to issues with owners, which I will not go into details, I turned it down. I am on a waiting list to get into school for my autobody technician, which is what I really want to do.

I have the same problem, Im mainly a cadillac guy and they seem to keep finding there way onto my bench...... that and my model a.d.d, lol I have a desk that every kit that gets started gets put on. All of the margerine containers are started kits too, they are mostly builtups that i have bought and broken down for re-building
-
lol, you were right , it looks way better with the extra seats, the doors have a function and dont seem out of place!
-
thanks! I have more that I plan on building in the future, one stock hearse and ambulance, and a few with other influences.
-
haha , i love this green too. In the right light you get the gold flake and it is amazing. as for the jood, lol mistype, but its good to see that there are still people with a sense of humor

Oye Vey! Da Fichies Is Biting!
mademan replied to george 53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
pm commin your way in a minute. -
alrighty as some of you from other boards know, I have quite a large collection of cadillac stuff, comprised of mostly Jo-han 66 cadillac hearses and ambulances. I got an idea the other day to convert an ambulance to a wagon, by modifying the interior to make it seat 6 (2 benches) here is where I am at..... btw the kit was sealed. I had originally planned to just use the front row, and use the wall of cabinets as a stereo enclosure. then after talking with a buddy he convinced me to add a second row of seats, which consisted of cutting away a large section of the floor. I now have to make lower door panels, and create the dropped floor. I had originally planned to use a larger wire wheel with a thin tire, but have decided to wait until I get a shipment of pegasus wheels. i will probly go with an 1109. the car will be kept as low as it can go, without the frame touching. I will update as I progeress. here are a couple sneak peeks at another project that I started, before I got ahold of all my hearses . I converted am ambulance. Cut the suspension apart so I could "lock it up" the trim was all done by me, using evergreen .020 square. I also formed the engine cover (like most new cadillacs have) from a chunk of what I believe to be aluminum. all comments, suggestions, and critisism is appretiated. thanks, mike
